കുറച്ചു നാളായി പാടത്തെ പച്ചക്കറി വിശേഷങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞ് അച്ഛനും അമ്മയും കൊതിപ്പിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങിയിട്ട്. എന്നാൽ പിന്നെ അതു പോയി കണ്ടിട്ടു തന്നെ കാര്യം എന്നു വച്ചു. വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്ന് അച്ഛനെയും കൂട്ടി പാടത്തെത്തി. അവിടെ വിരിഞ്ഞുനില്ക്കുന്ന പൂക്കളും ഇലകളും തുടുത്തു നില്ക്കുന്ന പച്ചക്കറികളും ചുട്ടു പൊള്ളുന്ന വെയിലിലും മനസ്സിനു കുളിരേകി. എന്റെ ശ്രദ്ധ ആദ്യം പതിഞ്ഞത് ചുവന്ന പരവതാനി വിരിച്ചു നില്ക്കുന്ന നാടൻ ചീരയിലാണ്. എല്ലാം വേണ്ടുവോളം പറിച്ച് നാട്ടരുവിയിൽ കഴുകി ഞങ്ങൾ വീട്ടിലേക്കു തിരിച്ചു. പച്ചക്കറികൾ പ്രത്യേകം വാഴയിലക്കെട്ടുകളിലാക്കി അച്ഛൻ ഞങ്ങൾക്കും തന്നുവിട്ടു.

This weekend we had a trip to my home. Parents were so happy to welcome us..Father took us to his beautiful vegetable field. He showed us all the vegetables and plants. When we reached there, plants were very thirsty and waiting for us to get fresh water to drink. It was very interesting to see the watering of plants and picking of farm fresh vegetables. Father, as usual explained about different varieties of vegetables and their health benefits. We picked fresh vegetables and washed those from the water supply from nature.. before the sunset, we collected the vegetables and leaves and went to home to enjoy some delicious foods prepared by mother. The most attractive item from the field was my favorite “Cheera”, the red spinach. Father packed the bundle of vegetables in the traditional way and he gave those to take to my husband’s house. After reaching back to our house, I was excited to make cheera thoran with the soft and red spinach…
I am Namitha. I born and bought up in a small village in Kerala. I am a food lover like my father. I also love to do farming , Crafting and I get the base knowledge from my father. I used to stay in city also, but where ever I go, always try to maintain tradition and passion as much I can.
I always try to make things different , so I started gardening, ornament making etc.
Whenever came to hometown I spend most of the time in our families "Tharavadu" where I get several knowledge's and ancient utilities and many more. simply sitting on verandah while raining will give some special nostalgic feeling. Food is always a precious thing which makes us happy throughout the day. Rasakkoottu is started with my interest in cooking. Through my videos, my intention is to recreate old lifestyle and cooking techniques and visualize those memories to the new generation when ever I am at my home town. I also would like to picturize current food cooking styles in possible traditional way when ever I stay in city. I always like to explore more on traditional cooking within and outside Kerala too. I personally like to prepare the foods by my self and enjoy to serve it to family. There are lots of back end support from all family members even though they are not ready to come in front of camera. Special thanks to them too.
