- The icons are simplified and the game is more complex; today, I'll be going over some basic builds and what I believe to be the best skills to use for each of the classes in Update 6.0 and Modern Armor. It's a bit crap that it cost 90 gold even if you want to change one or two skills.
100% agree! It's a rubbish move from Wargaming. It takes so long to level up skills, surely it should be free to swap them. Not have to pay for something you've already earned in game. Doesn't make any sense.
We should make a petition for crew skills swapping pay with silver 10k each would be the best offer to switch skills. Because the grind to get that 9th skill takes a lot of xp to have to pay gold to get a skill that better fits your tank

Armour angling probably the most controversial pick? It might or might not make you survive another shell.
Would love to see marked target being tested. It only works, apparently, on the red you have in your sights as long as its in your sights. I think.
Also, no situational awareness on the grille 15? With the turret I'd have thought smooth driving was less essential, maybe on a casemate more valuable. You're the expert but for a td vision is surely essential.

Does born leader improve rapid loader?
I think marked target skill works for a target that currently under the crosshair (which should show name), and it does not matter whether yourself or your team who spot the marked target. CMIIW.
6.0 was a while ago it’s obvious what crew skills you choose

Are you sure that “marked target” extends spotted vehicles for three seconds longer and it is not that it extends any specifically targeted vehicle for an additional three seconds. When I tried this after version 6 came out it seemed to make no difference on spotted vehicles. I’m hesitant to spend gold on changing things when they are not made clear by the company.
I tested it two years ago with Nightmare. Tanks that you were last to see will be spotted for 3 extra seconds

I have only played for about 7 months and have no commanders with 9 skills yet. I think 7 is the most but I always go with Rapid reload and for Born leader my first 2
Vert stabs aren't as important with extreme accuracy.

Sorry but skills like adrenaline rush and last stand are garbage and foolish to waste a slot on. People don’t realize how low 10% of health is. On a tier 9 or ten tank that’s like 200 hp. Other than rare occasions you are not gonna last more than 30 secs with that low amount of health, not long enough to get the benefits of the increased crew performance. Even a miss from high tier arty or someone shooting HE will kill you 9 times out of 10 with that low of health. The skill would have been awesome if it was 25% of health or less but under 10% of health is too low. Don’t waste a slot on that.
Oh and armor angling is trash too. Should have been 10% reduction rather than 5, you will hardly notice a difference. A lot of these “skills” seem to have been put in to dupe noobs who when they realize their mistake and have to spend gold to remove the useless skill.
Do not use armor angling or last stand/adrenaline rush skills, they might not help at all and will just waste the slot in most cases.
The problem is that in many cases the last stand/adrenaline rush skill will not activate at all. 10% hp for tier X is roughly about 200 hp. But tier X guns usually do 400+ damage. That means if you have 400 hp the skill is not active, but when you get hit you are almost for sure dead. The hp range to activate the skill is too narrow, you need to be quite lucky to get there. And even if you get there you won't last long, just until the next hit.
Similarly the armor angling, how often a 5% smaller damage will help you to survive? 5% from 400 alpha is just 20hp! How often are you alive with 1-20hp? Most likely the last hit will kill you anyway.
