You don't like fishing that's your prerogative, but might I suggest avoiding fishing channels going forward?

There is a lake behind the Civic Centre in the city of Lake Charles, Louisiana that has these as large as 6 and 7 feet.
They aren’t that rare, and gar are not endangered. However, schmucks over fish them in certain areas. The Trinity River used to be teaming with them. Luckily, I know where the honey hole is. LoL 😊

I fish all the time in the creek by my house the biggest I've caught so far is 5'8 but hopefully I'll get a six footer soon, gar are my favorite fish to catch and your videos make me want to go to the creek everytime I see them, what a huge hybrid.

Sturgeon. My son caught a 5’ when he was 12. Took him an hour and a half to reel him in. Poor kid was exhausted but wouldn’t hand over the reel to his dad for help. We got 80lbs of meat from that fish. I call it the Tofu fish…has no flavor until you add flavor. Good Eats. Side note…these fish have to be a certain length to keep. I caught a 38”. Too small to keep, but hella fun reeling it in. Catch and release ROCKS!
