Picking Stanley Tucci to play Clive was the best move!!! He looks like him in this movie and maybe he’ll end up with an Oscar Nomination
Best decision makes me really wanna watch it
Facts
I loved him in devils wear Prada
Stanley Tucci completely nailed it playing Clive Davis in Whitney Houston: I wanna dance with somebody... and so did Naomi Ackie paying tribute to The Voice!
Let’s give credit to KEVIN COSTNER for selecting the I Will Always Love You song. He, Clive Davis, her Mother, God, and her vocal tone, range, and talent made her one of THE GREATEST SINGERS OF ALL GENERATIONS.
And DRUGS WIPED IT ALL AWAY😢😢😢

THE GREATEST VOICE EVER: Whitney Houston. 🇺🇸

Nope. Whitney is Whitney, but Donna Summer wins. However, it’s not a contest.
Discovering Whitney Houston and having her be apart of your record label is the biggest Flex! 😎 no other producer could top that after she was discovered
He didn't discover whitney she was already being talked about amongst the industry he was just the first one to sign her.
@@firelord_ozai okay but that’s still a flex.
Whitney chose him under a strict record deal that she will only work directly with him and no one else. Other record company were just going to have her work with producers that are probably not known. Whitney had the foresight to make sure if she will be on top she has to work with people already there. She wants direct access to top management not lower tier. She knew what she was worth even then and Clive ran with it

This movie was nostalgic & beautifully done. It was just amazing to see her brought back to life and humanized. She was the definition of an icon.
No one could SPIN a song ; like , Whitney Houston . She is The Vocalist of a Century. She was and simply will always be : " The Greatest Soprano Voice recorded in modern music " . I LoVe her so Much ❣️ No one compares to her.
Barbra Streisand?
One of my a ll time favorite songs!!
I cry every time I hear Whitney's I will always Love You!!!
Miss her...,
Outstanding interview! Mr Davis is correct! He is a business man and the entire reason she was a Star was her vocal ability! And most of the Biopics, Movies and Documentaries focus on her the environment and culture surrounding her and not on her vocal abilities!
I would love to have seen more of studio life! Her rehearsal! Training sessions! The real! The parts about her vocal growth.
Her voice on the Mervin Griffin show as she sang “Home” vs the Peak and Maturity of Voice over the years would have been interesting to watch!
Her voice on the show was great! She had all the mechanics down (vocal control, pitch, tone, stage presence etc…). But after that show her voice grew into a massive powerhouse! Her chest and head voice became so strong and animated it was overwhelming!
I got chills ... Oh Whitney, Whitney ...how much You missed! How beautiful, moving and great 🎶🌸✨ interpretations and live performances you share with the all World.. ✨We Always Love You , Whitney Houston✨🙏💖✨🌸 !!!!!

I want to ask him 500 hundred questions about Whitney Houston before he dies... there's so much to discover about that era (decade) I want all of Whitneys legacy and info to be written. important parts
Yes...exactly! Same goes for Cissy. Ofcourse she wrote her memoirs concerning Whitney but there is still an almost endless amount of questions I would want to ask her :)
Agree with you!
Yea I want to ask him, why he only offered her to a 3 song deal, initially? The black guy standing beside him in that movie clip is Gerry Griffith. He was AR for Arista Records and he has given interviews over the years about how Clive didn't see her potential as much as he likes to portray it. It took multiple showcases until Clive decided to take a gamble. After offering her a 3 song deal and then seeing her performance improvements Clive decided to give her a multi-album deal.
@ashley1994 i reaaaaly hope u get to know her music & watch her live best performances & have a change of heart!❤️
@@jameswilson4207 well I'm sure it was a business move. She was young, raw, I'm sure it was a big investment as well as a risk being a founder for a record label. She was also a black artist. I'm sure he took that into consideration as far as marketing and not know how the mass audience was going to receive her. She has a huge voice and lots of star quality but even today very few black artists that have great talent make it in the business in the scale that Whitney did. I'm sure he loved her talent but from a business point of view he had to te see the waters with her and then go big

Thank you Dolly for your work. Without your songwriting talent, there wouldn't be a song that Hollywood is STILL talking about. You're so underrated. Think about it people. Have you written 2 songs in one evening? Dolly wrote this and Jolene right after.
Stfu hater
Dolly underrated? Come on people lol
A lot of artists have written multiple songs throughout a day. And yes dolly wrote an iconic song but it took Whitney's voice to make it a pop hit, and that's definitely not the most iconic song that was sung by whitney.
@@firelord_ozai True. i agree that Whitney's voice made it what it was. But the subject of this video is Dolly's song. Not some other iconic Whitney song. Why is that?.....
@@musicwillsaveme Get educated. Did you know that Dolly took the proceeds from the Whitney's recording of her song to open up her business office in a section of Nashville that was known to be a poor black section of the city? She did that to help boost the local business economy - which turned out to be successful for a lot of minority-owned businesses. Yes - as I said....UNDERRATED.
Growing up Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and Prince were always playing in my house. It's crazy and sad that by the time I was 35 they were all gone. Whitney really had a voice like no other in our generation.

The reason that Clive can encompass the music in this movie is he produced it originally, so he has the rights to it and can put all of it in the movie--which the other ones could not.
He should not have said something about the movie and doc before as long as he would never ever help them.
@@GentedeSucessoVIP what?
He didn't produce all the music, just la long list of managers too gutless to do the right thing.

Great story teller I could listen to him all day
Whitney in her prime sung the big notes effortlessly, better than anyone around and obviously ever since. I think there was a time when she played around with the vocal gymnastics, just because she could and to have some fun. She is probably a once in 50 year singer. Nobody had the range and the power combined that she had. I'm glad Costner recommended the song, he knew what she and only she could do with it.

Whitney will forever be like an aunt to me. The very first time I was mesmerized and said “WOW. THIS is what a STAR is, what it is to be a CELEBRITY! This is what TALENT is! Grace, poise, elegance!” was seeing Whitney on TV as a very young kid. My very first musical memory EVER was my mom holding me and dancing to I will always love you. I couldn’t have been over 1 year old. I grew up with her music as my mom always listened to her,and she is THE only celebrity I ever cried for. She’s the only one that can make me cry with the power of her voice and the emotion she carried ,the only voice that touches that one wire to my heart and I feel profoundly. She was so much more than a singer, she was a vessel of emotions. She was a damn good story teller. She was real. Quick. Witty. Funny. And I gather all that without ever meeting her. I can only imagine what the ones privileged to have known her felt. I never got to tell her just how much she means to me,just how much she’s touched me and so many others. Rest in peace and you are forever missed, loved and appreciated Whitney.
