  • Have this little jewel sitting in my barn (would this be a barn find) It's been sitting in a garage and then a barn for most of its adult life.
Belonged to my grandfather as he bought it new. I have been the care taker for the last 40 years, and hopefully it will be around after I'm gone.
Showing the options and functions of this super clean Oldsmobile 98 Luxury Sedan. " It's not your Father's Oldsmobile", It's my Grandfathers Oldsmobile.

I learned to drive on this car! My father had the exact car (except in white). Was a great car. One thing, no comparison from this 425 Olds engine and the 78 Cadillac 425. The blocks are entirely different just had the same volumetric measure. For those interested. this engine was rated at 365 gross horsepower (about 270 net horsepower) while the Cadillac engine was rated at 180 net horsepower (about 260 horsepower gross under the old system). Great video!

My friend’s dad bought a 66’ Ninety Eight Luxury Sedan brand new. It was that car that made me an Oldsmobile guy. I’ve owned 8 so far. From 98’- two 88’s, three cutlass’s, (71, 76, 79. Two Toronado’s 87, 90 Trofeo. Oldsmobile was just a touch above the rest.

My first car was a 67 98 LS, bland beige with beige vinyl roof and interior. I wanted a 64 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible, but my mom was afraid I’d flip it and break my neck. Mine also had cornering lights, power vent windows which wouldn’t seal tightly against the frame, and an AM/FM stereo. My friends wondered why I drove such a beast until they saw how much beer we could get in the trunk when we went to the lake!

I remember acquiring a 66 Olds 98 with his exact same color combination which is my favorite by the way, not much was changed except the dashboard on mine was different the telescopic wheel was a knob in the center that you turn L or R, but will your car here is a 10 mine was more of a 7.. it was a barn find and I remember the cruise control actually worked.. and it had a level to tell if you were going up or downhill to accelerate. And it was fine until one day in Connecticut on highway 84 it got stuck.. and I mean really stuck !! My buddy and I started the panic because we could not disconnect it so once we approached 90 mph.. in the car that was sitting for 22 years and just got running the day before, I finally decided the only alternative was to turn the key off and take our chances. Luckily we got her to stop but taking care not to use all the brake pressure that was left in the reservoir until the last several feet..lol.. even the nice state trooper that pulled us over had a good sense of humor thankfully and did not issue us a ticket he was amazed at the thing could do 90 and how we knew that was because he had it on radar.. that car also came with a mint 1980 Cadillac Fleetwood with only 40K and I was amazed that the 66 olds started right up where it took weeks to get the old caddy going because of its primitive computer.. I kept both cars for a long time but was offered a very good price so I sold it but I miss the old and seeing this video brought back memories cuz it's the exact same color and interior.. once again I love watching your videos but I stay up way too late because they're so interesting I'm tired the next day.

🇺🇸👍 That’s a sweet car, very nice. My Mother bought a 1965 Impala SS brand new always garaged and serviced buy the dealer, looked and ran as it just came off the show room floor. She owned it until a few years before passing, I wanted to buy it from her she refused to sell it to me , saying I didn’t need a big gas hog. I grew up washing and waxing that car and learned taking care of things can last you a lifetime. She sold it for $5,500.00 5 years ago I told before that it was worth close to 10 times that amount but as many other things she didn’t believe me, and yes we did have issues. Hopefully it went to a good home, I believe that she did. 👍🥩🥔🌽🍪🥛🥛💤

Then there's the sound of the Oldsmobile engine. When I was a young kid I could tell what every car was (at least the make) with my eyes closed. I never liked the full Matt. Made the car look like a truck. Besides it only hauled two people most of the time.

I had a 67 Olds 98. It was Silver with a gray colored interior. The vinyl top was black. There was no plastic in that car. The problem l had with it is the engine was burning oil. The clock did not work. I would love to own another one.

Wow I had one of those but mine was nowhere as nice mine had almost a inch of bondo and a black primer paint job that would shine nicely with armor all or oil when I couldn't afford the armor all lol but I do miss that car and would like to have another one

It’s a character flaw I am a car hoarder. I’ve been buying and collecting since 1979. The problem is “Sell” is a 4 letter word. I’m trying to keep up with Leno. I’m rich with friends. By the way collecting is a compulsive disorder I have embraced my disorder!😂
