  • This is my other grandpas car. Wanted to show you a common problem with these cars. That is the fuel pressure regulator. It's been replaced in this a car I don't know how many times. As you can see I had another one one of the old ones from it. Cleaned the both with my ultrasonic cleaner and it helped. I prefer to clean them that way save some money because they clog up and only replace it when cleaning doesn't help. And before you ask the fuel gauge doesn't work.

Was one of the symptoms a longer than normal prime time of the common rail? Assuming you have an In-Tank fuel pump, priming the common rail should normally take 3 seconds. I am seeing longer than 3 seconds & I am thinking I have a leaking regulator on 2.0 CRDI with 366K KM. These regulators dont last forever..!!

i notice you had the electrical connection submerged, did this not cause any issues? also what cleaning solution did you use?

It's an ultrasonic cleaner, it can also clean corroded connections, you just have to dry it out real good before plugin them back in

Hello, I have the same vehicle and I have the exact same problem. I hear friction-like noise is coming from this regulating valve. Has this happened to you when it failed on you? Thank you so much

Usualy it continues to run for a few seconds when turn the key of, then the computer doesn't let it go over 2500 rpm. Sometimes it could randomly die.

@@Mega2012ification Yes, that's exactly what happens to me. The engine takes a while to stop, it doesn't go above 2500rpm and sometimes the vehicle stops running randomly.
This week I will remove the valve and clean it, and if it doesn't work I will put in a replacement.
Thank you very much for the help.

I finally removed it, cleaned it with 3-IN-ONE liquid, and gave it voltage with the battery enough times to get it to act. It has worked, the error has disappeared and everything works correctly.
Thank you very much and happy new year from Spain
