ive been searching for 24 hours for this information, ive had set back after set back i was about to give up on the hobby, (literally had what had up for sale) now im flying all thanks to yo, so sir i thank you legend and i will sub and like u are now my bible.
I didn't know you before but your explanations are crystal clear, and very informative (double vBat, historical pin out, voltage regulation) I'll be sure to watch the whole playlist, hoping you explain how the "shorted jumpers" work, so they activate different pins functions.
Dude thank you so much for this vid. There's been so much speculation and talk on how to power this FC and glad that there is a definitive way now. I just got the F4 Omnibus as I really wanted to try something new. Let's see... glad to see your channel is back up and running. Been following the "saga". Welcome back Falcon👍
Thanks for the video, that cleared a few questions. I do have 1 more, hoping you, or someone here might have the answer. I am powering my FC through the 4in1 ESC connector (J21). I also want to have battery monitoring within the OSD. I connect pin J4 directly to my Lipo. Would this conflict, using 2 power sources with different voltages? As the FC is powered through J21 (v5) and J4 (vbat)
removing the linear voltage regulator from the bottom of the board and powering the 5 volt pin with a 5volt switching regulator (ubec) and keep the vbat pin connected to the main battery is the best option. then you get to see the voltage, your board will not fry from the excess heat from the linear regulator and the switching power supply can supply about 3A which can easily provide enough power for the board and the camera.
saswata hira I think there is my problem when I try to run fc on plane then after few seconds motor stops. Probably there is less voltage when motor run. Could you please tell where is this regulator? I have Omnibus F4 v3
When connecting the current sensor, you only need to use the heavy gauge wire on the B+ and the output pad on the opposite side of the shunt resistor. The GND connection can be a lighter gauge since it doesn't need to pass the current that goes through the ESC's, only the FC and whatever it's powering. This should save people from having to solder 2 heavy gauge wires to one pad (not much fun).
Great video. Whenever you get a chance, can you do a video with these flight controllers, a 4in1 esc to take advantage of the Omnibus 4in1 esc connector, cam, vtx, and NO PDB? Is that even possible? Trying to build something light with only the necessary parts.

I appreciate your videos they are superb are superb.
F4 PRO v2: it's not clear for me (my fault) if I can power the FC through an external PDB/BEC (with 5V) and still have the battery voltage in the OSD. It seems the only way to fly with 5S batteries without damaging the FC and still have all the info in the OSD.
I just powered a f4 pro, via the current sensor pads. direct from battery. everything worked perfekt. but when I plugged in the 3 pack. the f4 pro died. No light at all. messured and it got power. and still powered the reciver. I did not overheat. and ran the camara and transmitter of the pdb not fc. I'm going to rma it. but can I supply it a other way so voltage spikes or whatever don't kill the next one. I just really want the voltage to the osd. thanks
@ 7:24, you're going through the ground wiring for the F4 Pro. Question: can't you use a thin wire for the ground connection between FC and PDB? Assuming your negative battery lead (w/ thick wire) is connected to the PDB, providing a return path for your power-hungry motors, shouldn't there be a comparatively small amount of current flowing through the ground wire between the FC and the PDB? I.e. just enough to power the FC's electronics?
When I power up, the flight controller and receiver get power, but not the servos. I tried another F4 V3 and had the exact same problem. If I connect the BEC from ESC, everything works. It seems like the servo 5 volt rail is isolated from everything.
I got the F4 Pro V2 but my 4in1 ESC also has a current sensor, voltage sensor and 5V BEC. Will there be any issue having 2 current sensors in the loop? Or are there inputs on the F4 Pro for external voltage and current sensors so I can run the FC on the 5V BEC? What would you recommend? PS. You're a legend!! Your various playlists have helped me immeasurably and the detail and clarity of your explanations is unrivaled
im doing a 6s build and i have the omnibus f4 osd flightcontroller. is there anyway to hook up the vbat with this type voltage with the osd working. i just realized i think this board is 2-5s direct power connect. i could always connect the vbat with vreg off of the pdb to keep voltage in its limits but i would loose the correct voltage for osd to give me correct readings any thoughts? thanks
Thanks Ashley. If you use one of the Pro versions with current sensor you have to use the same gauge wire that your battery uses because the battery leads have to be soldered to the flight controller first, and then more wires run from that to the PDB. All the current being used must flow through the flight controller first because the sensor has to be able to see how much current is being used. All that power flowing through thin wires will literally melt the wires in half. And even if they dont melt in half then you would only get 5-10% power to your motors. The multirotor probably wouldnt even fly. By bypassing the current sensor and soldering battery leads to the PDB, but placing thin wires on the flight controller, you wont be able to use current, but voltage in telemetry and OSD will still work because voltage readings work different.
Good video, but there is one mistake. After thorough testing and looking at several forums, I'v found out that you will not be able to power your servos unless you supply a separate 5 volt source to the servo power rail. You can either use the 5 volts from your ESC-BEC or an external BEC, else your servos will not get power. There is a Shottky diode that blocks the +5VCC generated by the FC regulator from getting onto the servo power rail. For details and potential mods, go to this link: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2874687-OMNIBUS-AIRBOT-F4-family-ESC_5V-Isolation
Can I power the pro version with usb and lipo at the same time? I powered it with lipo, worked fine, disconected and connected usb, again worked fine. Then I connected lipo to try spin motors from beteflight software and bam, magic smoke.
Hey man, glad to see you back. I have a question about the F3 omnibus pro (current sensor). I have a TBS unify pro 5g8 v2 hooked up that takes 320mA at 5v, also a hs1177 taking roughly 70mA. I have the flight controller powering everything off of the 1.5a reg with 4s and it works great. I've been told and read that 5s works with these flight controllers just fine, and I've plugged in a 5s lipo and it worked. I'm wondering if you think 5s should be okay for the voltage reg since I'm not pulling a huge amount of mA. Thanks! Merry Christmas!
I've seen where many guys are using 5s as well. I dont think you'll run into any problems, but I haven't tried this for myself so I can't say for sure. But I'd guess you'll be fine.
I just accidentally touched + from the battery to Batt+ on the In side of the current sensor and Batt- to the positive out side of the current sensor. it sparked and melted the solder on the pads I had tinned, but I didn't see any magic smoke. Did I kill the board or maybe just the current sensor?
Sorry to be a pain, I want to connect mt flysky iA6B receiver with either sbus or ppm I'm totally confused, I just got my flip32 omnibus v2 board from ready to fly quads, do i need to put solder on the sbus or ppm pins ? and thanks for the help the other day. your vids are class
Can anybody answer this question? Is it possible to connect the FC to a computer to Betaflight also while having the quad powered up with it's own battery. Will this fry the flight controller, and if so how can I connect the flight controller to a computer and also power it from a battery to calibrate esc's?
I learned so much from you, thanks man! So I have the F3 and want to connect it to my matek PDB, so I'm gonna run wires from the big PDB plates (where the escs go for example) to the "lipo" spots you showed in the video. What kind of wire would I use for that? It will take full voltage, but the pins are super small.
Problem:. when i plug in my battery no Leds go on. when i plug it into my computer via USB everything works fine. when both battery and USB connected, my quad connects to my taranis and everything works fine. then when i unplug the USB it goes dead. is it a fixable problem?
Project Blue Falcon Gentlemen, I had the exact same issue. I replaced the large voltage regulator on the back of the board and this resolved this issue. Not sure why these boards are shipping with faulty V-Regs, but this was my solution.
Same thing happened to me after pulling my board off 1 build and putting it on another...I worked around it by running 5v from a separate 5v regulator to the Ram in/out pads next to the OSD pads.
@CircuitStar - I think you misread my comment...feeding the board 5v of power from an external stepdown fixed my board not powering up from direct lipo power. All Vbat is being used for now on my board is telemetry voltage (still works strangely enough, just doesn't power the board.)
Betaflight 3.1.6 Flip32 F3 omnibus and Tricopter? First thanks for the great videos! Do you have any information on how to connect the Tricopter tail servo on the F3 board? What motor number output is the BetaFlight used when a servo is required? I understand the resource command and how to use, however, I have not found any info on how the rear servo is mapped to a motor pin output and which servo number to use. I.E. if I had Motor 5 or 6 set to say B07, I would change this to Motor 5 or 6 to none. Then resource the servo, Resource servo xx B07 and save. Not sure which motor number can be used for servo, and what servo number to use? Thanks for any assistance in advance. Bob
Hey, those pins adjacent from the USB port (uart1) you said you would show us in a later video to power the vtx and cam from. Well you also said, we'd have to remove any connections from uart1 before plugging into BF because everything could mess up. Does this mean I'd have to desolder the cam and vtx every time I want to plug into bf?
Project Blue Falcon Hey, what if you're running a pdb that has a current sensor on it as well. Would that cause a conflict with the current readings i would get?
Great Tutorials, however I was thinking if you filter your main Flight pack Lipo voltage before feeding it to this board as you have demonstrated, this will give a clean, convenient (3 pin) output feed for both camera and VTX??? Most Cameras will handle 4S these days, but some of my 1.2G VTXs will only cope with 3S, ....5.8G vtxs seem 4S capable too.... If Im using servos, where do I apply the separate power for these???....and is it safe to plug in the USB at the same time? Sorry , for the questions, and I realise your clips are multirotor based....but iNav is opening these up for fixed wing use now....Subbed BTW....:)
HI PBF I do not understand everything, I'm new to this hobby but I was watch all yours videos and still nothing. I plug the usb to F3 V1 omnibus and my uart 2 (sbus rail) produces 5v(4.5V) and in the INAV tab(receiver) there is no reaction to the motion of the controller but on F4 Pro I see AETR they move perfectly so the sbus working.....maybe there is not enaugh power from usb soo I put power from 3s Lipo....and NOTHING :(
Copy and paste question. Just really want to know the answer to this, as it'll help me make a decision on if I want to buy the Omnibus F3 or not. Please respond... Hey, those pins adjacent from the USB port (uart1) you said you would show us in a later video to power the vtx and cam from. Well you also said, we'd have to remove any connections from uart1 before plugging into BF because everything could mess up. I have the F3 OMNIBUS V2, have it hooked up the same way, and it wont power on. it works fine when powered by micro usb, I've resolderer the jumpers, no luck any help would be appreciated, but I feel like im going to have to use a different flight controller
Can I power this board with only a 5v Bec through the PWM plug and get a voltage readout somehow? I don't like the idea of powering it with 16.8 or 13.5V. Thx.

Great guide! I like the way you're powering the FC from the PDB and still have voltage reading for the OSD. What AWG wire do you recommend to go from the battery pad to the FC?
Something is a miss here. To read DC current it only takes to break one leg and place the amp meter/sensor between the break completing the circuit. The flight control board is only going to draw maybe two amps--max; so why ground it with a 14 gauge wire? The high current is only running through the PCB through the ESC's to the motors, and only read by the flight control board on the + VBat leg. No need to run a 14 gauge ground wire (-) back to the flight control board just to power it; you can power the flight controler through the USB connector. The issue I see here is feed-back from the motors--which will be seen as an AC ripple pushed back from the motors through the ESC's; and digital circuity hates that. Put a big capacitor between the + and - pads on the PCB as a band-aid. ELI the ICE man is running rampant here with our motors.
so with the f4 pro v3 how do you put it into boot mode and If I was connecting a flysky receiver via ibus which pads would I solder together and do I leave them soldered?
F3 Board? Where is the front of the F3 board, I do not see an arrow anywhere in the video's. I am going to order a unit. Maybe the paperwork has the arrow indicating direction? Thanks Bob
I need to ask question does omnibus f4 pro v3 support 5s directly off pdb ? In my case the impulse alien 5" pdb I've got power and ground directly into flight controller? I have had weird issues and just other day it fell out sky and flight controller quit working won't connect at all, so now I've got new one coming so I wanna take precautions and do u recommend running esc signal around ground or power for less noise? Sorry alot to read but u always been big help
is it bad thing to be using stock impulse alien pdb to power my omnibus f4 pro v3 along with tramp vtx and esc's? I wanna get current sensor setup but its so complicated and not sure which way to set it up .. what gauge wire ect
Hey, where does the esc (signal/ground) wires go on the F3? You mentioned esc's, but did not tell us this, and I'm not seeing the info in any of your videos in the playlist. Thanx.
During soldering the "BAT"-PIT and "Om50"-PIT were connected and I couldn't remove the soldering point very well. So that when I used my LIPO, the Omnibus F4 "Om50"-PIT made a short sound. My F4 is still working with the pc. Is there any possibility to still use it? Sry for bad engl
I bought an omnibus F4 from banggood and got it hooked up via usb to my PC. My transmitter channels look great in the beta flight app, but when I disconnect everything and power just by Lipo, the second I turn on my transmitter, the quad freaks out and pings my ESC's and even the transmitter starts chirping. You ever seen anything like that? I was able to bind OK, and I know my transmitter, receiver, esc's etc are good, but this board is driving me nuts.
I powered my flip32 F4 via vbat as showing on this video and the negative to ground also as showing in this video directly to my lipo 3s and fried my flight controller ( nothing else was connected to the board)
If viewing it with the USB on the bottom, On the F4 FC I used the third one in the middle ( strating from the top ) and I used the ground next to it on the left side, anyway I'm following your repair playlist and bought the tools I need to repair it. and the usb programmer.. I learned a lot from you :) but why do you think this vbat pin killed the fc?
I have had some interference in the FPV video with the Omnibus F4 Pro V2, despite feeding the FPV gear seperatly and through a LC filter. So, my only conclusion is that this current sensor in the FC is somehow interfering with the image. Any thoughts?
Is there any way you could help me with my omnibus f3 pro v2 flight controller? I can NOT figure out its wiring at all and how to get power to it :( i have good pics of both my FC and the 4 in 1 esc I’m trying to wire it with. And pin outs for them. Pleeeeease help 💔
Hi and thanks for your videos Project Blue Falcon. I have connected Omnibus F4 Pro in VBAT config and everything worked fine. After a crash though I cannot power the FC with battery, but it does light up through USB. Any idea what might went wrong? Thanks!
hi thanks for the tips helps alot. abit confuse on one thing thought. what on the last method with the v4 pro without the current reading. what gauge wire should i use from the pdb to the fc?
When connect sattelite reciver. Do you have to power the board from battery to bind ? I have 3.27 v with usb conected. Cant get it in bind mode. I have done the cli command.
hello artist I need advice ... that mini GPS (maybe with a Magnetometer maybe) I recommend for this FC? Omnibus F4 Pro V3 Betaflight Flight Controller Built-in OSD Barometer SD Blackbox for RC Drone ..Banggood. Thank you
Hi, your videos are awesome. I'm new to these boards and have a f4 pro for a 250. I'm seeing a lot of people who have issues. I want batt voltage on osd but I would like backup fc power if possible. I am not powering anything from the fc regulator that's not on the board. Any ideas on hooking up a bec to power the fc and still get batt voltage? Regards
There is something I can't understand. It looks like Omnibus F4 should be powered directly from battery, and some descriptions say that clearly. But most other descriptions on Ebay say the following: "-You will need to power this board via an external BEC as the built in LDO is just used as a voltage protector and cannot be used for a long time, otherwise it will overheat." For example: www.ebay.com/itm/232273874606 Which is true?
You can do it both ways. Normally I power it off the lipo like in the video. I've done this on 6 out of 7 omnibus controllers. But the voltage regulator gets very hot. Thats normal though for that type of regulator. Problem on the 7th Omnibus is it gets so hot it makes the processor reset. In that case you can cut both legs off the voltage regulator, and then power the board with 5v from a PDB. Just place the wires on any power and ground pin on the motor pins.
mportillo78 I think this is not an issue also with v.2 and any other version that uses SBEC (switching BEC). It is detectable easily by looking at the components on the board.
I have some hefty servos that I want to power on my race wing using an external castle 10A UBEC. I wouldn't mind powering the FC using this UBEC as well. I want the 5V on the PWM outputs to be from the external castle UBEC. Would I just remove the voltage regulator as you've suggested to accomplish this?
Hi, thanks for another helpful video. Can you confirm what target/hex I should flash to my Omnibus F3 Pro? I have flashed the 'OMNIBUS' target but the board won't connect. Thanks in advance
Thanks for the help. I should have been more clear. The board is connecting to my PC but BF won't connect. I have found out that the warning lights on the FC are saying that my GYRO/ACC is not being recognised or is broken. I must have broke it somehow. Have you had issues with these FC's braking easily? Seems a bit fragile.

Help Help. When I plug in my omnibus f4 v3 to battery , green light comes up but not the blue ( boot) one and that’s why it can’t be flashing firmware on beta flight . Any idea? Think it’s fried ?
Can you tell me where to buy OMNIBUS F4 Pro (v2) with Bec because I decided to order from Aliexpress.com but there write I should use external Bec, otherwise LDO could overheat.I want to be sure that the version of the FC will not overheat.I read that V2 has SBEC 5v3amp and she had no problem with overheating.
Hey JC, I am building the Flip32 F4 v1 (non Pro). Thanks for your recommendation on the LC filter. Do I pass the battery voltage through the LC filter to the FC, cam and vtx? Or, do I only use the LC filter for the camera and vtx? ie, will the LC filter affect the FC's vbat readout on the Betaflight OSD?
You dont have to power it with the pins I used in the video. If you have a 5v regulator from a PDB or linear ESCs you can place a 5v and ground wire on a motor output power and ground pin. The problem is you wont get you battery voltage in Betaflight, telemetry, or OSD. The pins I use in the video not only power the FC but also because its the full voltage of the battery those pins also tell the FC what the full voltage is. If you power it with 5v with the FC is going to tell your telemetry and OSD that your battery only has 5v.
I'm currently building a quad with this FC and I'm trying to figure out where to attach the 5v output from the PDB to power the FC. You say the motor output power and ground, what exactly is this? Sorry for the simple question, but I can't find much documentation on it. Thanks!
You can do the camera, receiver, and LEDs, but dont power your Vtx off the flight controller. The video will look horrible if you do, if it even works at all. But everything else will be fine.
Project Blue Falcon yes I can power vtx directly from lipo with some cap. Was just wondering about few leds and receiver as someone said that this 5v is only enough for board itself nothing else
I have all the functions working properly but I have no motor function in the motor test tab and it won't arm. The Rx tab shows all my inputs are mirrored. Airbot sent me one of the BEC modules but I didn't connect it. (It didn't include wiring instructions)
Hey do i have a good one, my 250 arms can hover then will disarm and shut down. I have watched all arming issue vids , my build is a 250 frame cheap one , emax 2204 motors , emax 30 amp bullet ESCs , omnibus f4 v3 . if beeper connected it beeps rapidly after shut down. I checked channels to make sure no conflicts with switches. osd works too . i rebuilt it with a new from airbot f4v5 same problem. So next is scrap ESCs and hope for the best. I watched a lot of your videos on omnibus. any help would be awesome, I have a martian 2 same setup but emax red bottoms , only difference in build is i connected all negatives together and soldered to one pad on 250 that has problem and on martian soldered 2 together and onto 2 pads. that shouldn't be an issue but when i scrap the esc for new better ones i will solder all ground wires to their respective pads. thanks glad i have money to spend on quads as all other money spent is just a waste.
im having issues getting my receivers to work its wired to sbus and comes on and binds but betaflight isnt reading it on any uart i gone thru 3 fcs this weekend n cant get anything to read
thanks for the video I have just orderd an f3 to play with, I'm quiet new to this, great set of videos hope you dont mind me asking ing where do you order your wire for the board and what size do you use ? .thanks
Thanks and bunch. I usually just get my wire from whatever website I'm ordering parts from. A lot of places have it. Just make sure you get silicone wire. Readytoflyquads, banggood, ebay, readymaderc and others sell it. For the battery leads going to XT60 connector I use 12 or 14ga, the wires going from the PDB to power the flight controller I use 26ga, and for everything else I use 28 or 30ga.
Thank you very much. You've helped one more person even after you've gone. May you find the clearest skies and fly free forever.
Still continue to help, even though your in heaven.. Hope your flying high mate. God bless

Thanks bud. I just got the F4 Omnibus as well. Just got telemetry working so videos will be coming soon.
You're still here, keep teaching us how to power our flight controllers, one year later. RIP bro, I flew for you today
JC Thanks for the videos for Omnibus FC's! And once again welcome back dude!
Thanks bud. Working on the Omnibus playlist right now in fact. Should have some videos uploaded by tomorrow morning.

Great video. By the way 4 linear escs won't cause an issue. Escs that have a ubec and sbecs causes problems.
Thank you very much, a very clear explanation which I did not find in other places.
With the Pro you don't even need a PDB, it's designed to connect the ESCs directly to the FC. Much more straight-forward and uses MUCH less room!
Great video. Whenever you get a chance, can you do a video with these flight controllers, a 4in1 esc to take advantage of the Omnibus 4in1 esc connector, cam, vtx, and NO PDB? Is that even possible? Trying to build something light with only the necessary parts.
Yep no problem
Just bought an omnibus f3 and, Yes, I’m here AGAIN, to get expert advice , explained perfectly. Damn, this dude missed !
Very good explanation
Thanks! It was pretty confusing and you made it very simple!
Hello it would be interesting to hear your views of connecting a Spektrum satellite such as the redcon with a spektum transmitter, to the omnibus f3 since it has a dedicated port on the flight controller . I have read some comments that the spektrum is not that compatible with 5.8 video and as a result you might get loss of control with the spektrum over your quad. I appreciate your videos they are superb are superb.
I'll look into it and make a video when I find something.

Dude please do some more on rx hookup for the f7 and sbus ,with X9D.please.
thank you! you keep helping us from heaven;) rip.
Can you please link the video for calibrating current and voltage in the description?
I got the F4 Pro V2 but my 4in1 ESC also has a current sensor, voltage sensor and 5V BEC. Will there be any issue having 2 current sensors in the loop? im so happy u making videosagain
Hey awsome videos , just quick question , probably a stupid one. How comes you can get away using thinner wire if your not using the current sensor ?

It should be fixable. I'm not sure what part is bad on your board though. You would have to check with a multimeter.
Kradle ^Thats assuming your board is getting power already. Our issue was that the board wasn't getting any power from VBAT to begin with.
I understand the resource command and how to use, however, I have not found any info
on how the rear servo is mapped to a motor pin output and which servo number to use.
I.E. if I had Motor 5 or 6 set to say B07, I would change this to Motor 5 or 6 to none. Then
resource the servo, Resource servo xx B07 and save.
Not sure which motor number can be used for servo, and what servo number to use?
Thanks for any assistance in advance.
Bob
I'm getting a Armattan Chameleon soon would a f3 or f4 pro or non be better I'm new to this....?
Hey, those pins adjacent from the USB port (uart1) you said you would show us in a later video to power the vtx and cam from. Well you also said, we'd have to remove any connections from uart1 before plugging into BF because everything could mess up.
Does this mean I'd have to desolder the cam and vtx every time I want to plug into bf?
Do I need 14awg wire on ground pad? AFAIK it is only for powering FC so thin wire should be fine, but I am not sure.

Any idea if the Omnibus F3 nonPro can take a 4S LiHv battery directly to vbat? All I can find is a 2-4S rating and nothing about HV.
Powered it all up, can spin the motors but I have Runcam swift 2 OSD but no on board OSD, is there a problem or am I just missing something.
You are back! Awsome.
Glad to have you back
If I use dsmx receiver, what should I do with the PPM/SBUS pin, just let them off ?
is it bad thing to be using stock impulse alien pdb to power my omnibus f4 pro v3 along with tramp vtx and esc's? I wanna get current sensor setup but its so complicated and not sure which way to set it up .. what gauge wire ect
RIP Jc and thank you so much
Your videos are awesome! How are these holding up on your regular builds recieving direct voltage for so long?
Hey, where does the esc (signal/ground) wires go on the F3? You mentioned esc's, but did not tell us this, and I'm not seeing the info in any of your videos in the playlist.
Thanx.
Thanks for this video.. can you tell me if the F4 Pro will take 5 or 6s direct? Thanks
If viewing it with the USB on the bottom, did you use the third pin down in the middle or fourth pin
i had the same
If viewing it with the USB on the bottom, On the F4 FC I used the third one in the middle ( strating from the top ) and I used the ground next to it on the left side, anyway I'm following your repair playlist and bought the tools I need to repair it. and the usb programmer.. I learned a lot from you :) but why do you think this vbat pin killed the fc?
Hey great Vidz. Do you know how many amp the Current sensor handle on the F4 pro.?
I havent found any info on that yet.
What gauge wire do I use for the F3 board? Can I use a servo wire?
Is there a specific direction to mount the FC on the quad?
Hello. I'm building a iNav fixed wing using omnibus. The GPS I ordered is rated at 3.3v only oblux m8n which pin has 3v?
Hi and thanks for your videos Project Blue Falcon. I have connected Omnibus F4 Pro in VBAT config and everything worked fine. After a crash though I cannot power the FC with battery, but it does light up through USB. Any idea what might went wrong? Thanks!
What about powering F4 board from vbat, fc without current, got rather hot after few seconds
hi thanks for the tips helps alot. abit confuse on one thing thought. what on the last method with the v4 pro without the current reading. what gauge wire should i use from the pdb to the fc?
When connect sattelite reciver. Do you have to power the board from battery to bind ? I have 3.27 v with usb conected. Cant get it in bind mode. I have done the cli command.
i connected my board the same way but when i power my board there is a steady green but no blue light why ?
hello artist I need advice ... that mini GPS (maybe with a Magnetometer maybe) I recommend for this FC?
Omnibus F4 Pro V3 Betaflight Flight Controller Built-in OSD Barometer SD Blackbox for RC Drone ..Banggood.
Thank you
Hi, your videos are awesome. I'm new to these boards and have a f4 pro for a 250. I'm seeing a lot of people who have issues. I want batt voltage on osd but I would like backup fc power if possible. I am not powering anything from the fc regulator that's not on the board.
Any ideas on hooking up a bec to power the fc and still get batt voltage?
Regards
Can you power the FC from 5v stepdown? Then if the regulator fails, boars is still safe?
Thanks amigo, you are a machine! Helped me a lot ;)
There is something I can't understand. It looks like Omnibus F4 should be powered directly from battery, and some descriptions say that clearly. But most other descriptions on Ebay say the following: "-You will need to power this board via an external BEC as the built in LDO is just used as a voltage protector and cannot be used for a long time, otherwise it will overheat." For example: www.ebay.com/itm/232273874606
Which is true?
You can do it both ways. Normally I power it off the lipo like in the video. I've done this on 6 out of 7 omnibus controllers. But the voltage regulator gets very hot. Thats normal though for that type of regulator. Problem on the 7th Omnibus is it gets so hot it makes the processor reset. In that case you can cut both legs off the voltage regulator, and then power the board with 5v from a PDB. Just place the wires on any power and ground pin on the motor pins.
Thanks! If I cut off voltage regulator, can I still use the current sensor?
This is no longer an issue with the current versions correct? The F4 V3 Pro?
mportillo78 I think this is not an issue also with v.2 and any other version that uses SBEC (switching BEC).
Its the Omnibus target. You probably have to change the driver on your computer. Hope this helps. czcams.com/video/Ur_mU7Eu69E/video.html
Thanks for the help. I should have been more clear. The board is connecting to my PC but BF won't connect. I have found out that the warning lights on the FC are saying that my GYRO/ACC is not being recognised or is broken. I must have broke it somehow. Have you had issues with these FC's braking easily? Seems a bit fragile.
hello artist I need advice ... that mini GPS (maybe with a Magnetometer maybe) I recommend for this FC?

Thank you
When wiring the F3 (Non Pro Version) should 14 gauge wire be used from the PDB to the F3? Or was that just for the Pro versions of the FC's?
Thanks.
can u use the v cc and ground on the pdb and get voltage?
Can you use the full voltage from a 4s lipo on the Vbat? Or do you need to bring it tot 5V with the power board?
I've got an omnibus F4 (the normal one) do I have to wire it directly to the battery pads if I'm not using an OSD??
Thanks!
good to see you back . on the omnibus f3 aio. do i need to use 14 gauge wire? for 4s or is 16 gauge ok for the vbatt
You should be fine with 16ga. Most 4s Li-Pos use 16ga anyway.
i missrd the comment
How much I can hook up to that 5V from the FC? VTX, camera, receiver and some WSxxx leds is fine?
I can not flash new firmware either. I've used the boot button as well as CLI DFU command.
I watched a lot of your videos on omnibus. any help would be awesome, I have a martian 2 same setup but emax red bottoms , only difference in build is i connected all negatives together and soldered to one pad on 250 that has problem and on martian soldered 2 together and onto 2 pads. that shouldn't be an issue but when i scrap the esc for new better ones i will solder all ground wires to their respective pads. thanks glad i have money to spend on quads as all other money spent is just a waste.
im having issues getting my receivers to work its wired to sbus and comes on and binds but betaflight isnt reading it on any uart i gone thru 3 fcs this weekend n cant get anything to read
thanks for the video I have just orderd an f3 to play with, I'm quiet new to this, great set of videos
hope you dont mind me asking ing where do you order your wire for the board and what size do you use ?
Will it work for spracing f3 flight controller
