Draw gauge- leather strap cutter

In this video I demonstrate how to use a draw gauge.
The draw gauge is a leather strap cutter designed as a tool to make straps of leather fast and even. It is a very useful tool most commonly used to make belts, bracelets and straps for purses. It has many applications. On smaller settings you can even cut lace.
The strap cutter that I use is C.S. Osborne no. 51 1/2.

I’m left-handed which make using some tools uncomfortable, could this strap cutter work if the sliding knife bar was inserted the opposite side and the knife turned to face you?. That you in advance
