Reuben was Israel's firstborn son, but he forfeited his birthright. Jacob prophesied that the tribe of Reuben was unstable as water and would not excel. The descendants of the tribe of Reuben include the Franks, who settled northern France and parts of Holland and Germany. Although God allowed this people to be powerful for a moment in history, they will not be power players in the end times.

My paternal fathers family (Lingerfeldt) comes from outside Frankfurt Germany close to the river, across from Offenbach. Built and lived in a large stone tower to keep the ford of the Franks open. Lived in the same spot for centuries before Frankfurt or its districts existed. The tower was in time, the center of a very large house. The tower was its look out place. WW2 carpet bombing took out the house and outbuildings.
Went along with Charles Martel to fight and repell the Moors at Tours France. Went on 2 crusades.
Councled (reportedly) with Charlemagne and was given title of Baron with in a generation of this.
I wonder if my ancestors are one of the tribe you mentioned? If so, am I one of the chosen? Food for thought.

My mum’s family were Jews from Spain who sailed to Peru for more disturbing reasons. They ended up in the UK. Always one step ahead of the Inquisition.

My mum's family were exiled to Trujillo, Spain after the Bar Kochba rebellion. They ended up in Peru until the Inquisition arrived there, then onto California and finally Britain.

My Jewish grandfather always said the British were our cousins. My Jewish mum married a British man and that was acceptable to my non religious family. Judaism is the religion of the rabbis. Many of their traditions are European in origin. The Christians had the symbol of the cross so we had to have the Star of David. The christians had Christmas so we had Hanukkah. I suppose all religions evolve.
