As long as there is a decent sell on clause I’m ok with a fee that is lower than what we expected. My biggest problem is dealing with these broke Italian and French clubs. It’s always 5 year loan with an option to buy.

Marseille is probably the most passionate place in Europe, together with Naples, to play football in. I’ve had a soft spot for Olympique Marseille since the late 60’s, when my boyhood idol, my countryman Roger Magnusson (”the swedish Garrincha”) played there. Agreed on transfer deals and structuring. Its a complicated web. You have the transfer fee which (in 2024) is typically incentivized & linked to appearances, achievements, etc.
Then player wages & other deal contingents. (Such as image rights, licensing, etc)
Marseille? No chance they are going to be able to afford Nketiah. Its probably going to be tier2 EPL clubs who will look at him, seriously.
Because AFC has a *VERY* vocal and opinionated fanbase that generates vast amounts of media attention & clicks. We have trashed Eddie's reputation, with no regard to the consequences.
It is unfair & partially un-warranted. He is englands U-21 record goalscorer with 12 goals in 14 appearances!
If any other nation or team had him we would be endlessly clucking over his potential & why we must sign him.
The system, style & patterns of play AFC use under Arteta do not plat to his strengths & abilities. Lets get that clarified.
So Eddie is definitely worth £40m+ in the current market - accounting for Goal scoring record (international) + English tax & proven EPL experience.

When you overall game time pretty much totals around 7-8 games a season then youre likely not gonna score much. He needs to go somewhere where he'll play every week then he'll score more
