It's not the only battle, they also collaborated in operation cowboy in Czechoslovakia.

Which was also hilarious, since it involved rescuing *horses* from the SS.

The most hilarious part of that battle was when a black American soldier, a pretty much french nationalist and racist ex prime minister and a 20 years old German conscriptioned guy who would have liked to be at any other place had to man a machine gun together.
None of them spoke any of the other languages and everybody hated each other but boy did they have a common enemy.

Once Hitler die the Whermacht know the war were over but the SS kept on fighting so they join forces with the American to stop the SS
