I love Giancarlo Stanton home runs. There just so clean and smooth he has that step back and oh my gosh it’s so satisfying to watch him absolutely destroy the ball
As a twins fan we get frustrated with Sano's high strikeout rate and he may be in a new jersey next year, but there's no denying his absolute home run power
His stance is iconic and the view of him peering towards the mound is terrifying. It's the look I would imagine seeing from a medieval soldier looking through their helmet.
Not the longest, but the hardest hit ball I ever saw came in August of 1980 -- Yankees at Royals. I was a big Royals fan and that night I was sitting about 10 rows back behind the Yankees dugout when Reggie Jackson hit a laser beam off Dan Quisenberry that had no arc -- frozen rope that embedded itself into the turf below the scoreboard. It left the park so fast, the centerfielder never moved a step. In postgame interviews, someone asked Quiz what he threw to Reggie and he said, "I don't know. It's still burrowing to St. Louis." Quisenberry interviews were priceless.
I attended a Dodger game at the LA coliseum, I don't remember the exact year, it had to be between 1958 and 1961. Frank Howard came to bat and almost hit a homerun out of the stadium to left field! Me and my brother were seated in the upper stands, and the ball was still climbing when it hit the seats! I still remember that till this day. Frank was a monster standing in the batters box.
I love how almost all of these guys are pretty relevant and one of the better players on their team, and then there is Austin Slater, Anthony Alford, Bradley Zimmer, Franchy Cordero, and even Yermin Mercedes.
A ton of guys have pop and don't show it because they can't make enough contact. Or there are guys who just aren't as good at putting the barrel to the ball so most of the time they don't hit it as hard and they could then it seems like suddenly they hit one to the moon because they don't usually hit it off the barrel. A great example is Michael A Taylor, every other year he'll hit one 475+ feet even though throughout his career he has below average power numbers.
I love that Shohei's home run at T Mobile is on the Mariners' tv broadcast. It's awesome that Goldsmith and Blowers even appreciate that insane blast from him while the Mariners are losing.
One of my favorite baseball clips is an Eric Byrnes diving catch for Oakland against the Mariners. Rick Rizzs of the M 's broadcast goes nuts for it. czcams.com/video/xfAIeo6iwyM/video.html
I assumed the Jorde Soler moonshot in the World Series would be the one for the Astros park, but apparently statcast measured it at only 446 feet. Kinda crazy to think a homer that left the entire stadium wasn't the longest.
It's just the design of the stadium that gives the appearance that balls that clear the railroad tracks and out of the entire stadium go farther, when in reality if that same ball was hit to right field, it probably ends up in 2nd deck well short of the scoreboard.
I'm sorry sir, but that George Springer home run was at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, FL, not Sahlen Field in Buffalo, NY, but I understand cause the Blue Jays had three homes last season.
Hilarious that Conforto's blast came with Jerry Seinfeld guesting in the booth. Given that Jerry only visits once a season, that's a pretty long shot [/pun] I'm just disappointed the Reds' announcer doesn't celebrate Votto's dinger by yelling "Blame Canada!". But that's just me, I guess.
I was at the game when Shohei Ohtani hit that home run. Holy shit. The camera man looses it but it literally landed all the way in the upper deck on the 300 level it was crazy.
I think you’re missing the Out of the Park Home Run at Dodger stadium by Stanton. I remember seeing the sign outside the bleachers and it said it was 507ft. I believe.
I don't think people realize how heavy those bats are and how hard these guys not only swing them, but how they measure and time the ball, and often times are waiting ( sitting ) on that pitch. Like when they predict a hard sinker and time the speed and angle perfectly and barrel it up. It's truly an insanely difficult thing to do and they make it look so easy
Judges homerun went farther than 455ft, that had to be 475-480 ft. I’ve seen Hanley Ramirez hit one into the back of the flight deck at 467ft, this one went over the flight deck
I’m thinking it might’ve had to do with launch angle. Judges seemed to have a compressed arc cause the launch angle seemed higher. I’m assuming Ramirez’ was probably a shallower arc leading to it travelling farther in the projections
Aussie here that went to Fenway whilst on holiday. I literally cannot believe that guy hit a ball over that green wall. I watched it and called my cousin who lives in Boston asking if they've renovated it to make it smaller hahaah and he says "Na bro, that wall hasn't changed in Decades"
Pretty boring call from the Tyler ONeill home run in Pittsburgh. Wish you would have used the Cardinal Announcers. Still great video! Thanks for putting it together!
The best part this whole thing is Tatis Jr (also getting multiple nods here), of the The San Diego Padres doing that stutter-skip against into 3rd bases of The Los Angeles Dodgers!

He hit 3 of these correct?

If we're talking special sound that belongs to Votto and his ash bat. Only a few major leaguers even use them anymore.

Hitting the ball literally out of the park: Boss Move
Got a chuckle from the pitchers and their body language. The instant the bats made contact most all of them knew it was WAY gone without even looking.
I refuse to believe Ohtani's was only 463 😭😭
what about judge dead center in toronto. waaaay further
Tatis hit one farther than anyone in this year's HR Derby but they said it wasn't even 470.
The one he hit in Tampa last year that landed on the catwalk was allegedly only 453. No way. I dunno how they measure these exactly, but seems weird.
