  • Its another trip to Clackmannanshire, this time going back to the origin of the county. Before last week I didnt even realise Clackmannan was a place, and now I cant wait to go back.
This place has been the bigggest surprise of the year, with one of the most stunning towers I have visited on my travels, having always been just a 30 minute drive away the whole time. Sit back, make a coffee and enjoy Clackmannan.

I'm from Clackmannan. So much of my childhood was spent playing up at the tower. The 'Look aboot ye' comes from a story about Robert the Bruce loosing a hunting glove. Apparently he told everyone to look aboot ye. Beautiful drone footage. Loved the video 😊

Clackmannan is a bonny town, glad you enjoyed your visit. The rock is the Stone of Mannan. At least the one at the top is - I think the Victorians or Edwardians sat it up there, they liked a good phallic symbol😜. It's sitting on an huge whinstone from the Abbey Craig (the hlll Wallace Monument stands on). The Legend is that it was left by the sea god Manau. Robert the Bruce was hunting around Clackammanan, when he dropped his good gauntlet. He told hs followers to 'Look aboot ye.' Some stories say that his gauntlet was found lying on top of the Stone of Mannan. We are so lucky in our area to have such lovely countryside and fascinating history. Just looking at your aerial shots, it looks like theres the markings of old runrig systems in the field beside the Tower too.

Great video and drone footage. There is a nice woodland walk between Alloa and Clackmannan which is a cycle path which I think runs from Stirling all the way to Dunfermline.

Another great walk about. Amazing drone footage as usual. Love the area. How do you not lose where you parked your car? Lol, I'd be completely lost.
