Scambaiting Fake Discord Support!

There is a new wave of scam that is floating around. Scammers will make their own Discord support live chat system and target high value accounts in hopes of stealing them. Well your half mentally functional papa tried to scam bait these little rats and holy moly I am very bad. If you are a better troll than I am, feel free to go wild.
Don't fall for these support scams, always contact Discord directly if you have any issues.

More details about the scam:
The way this scam is sent to users is that they get DM advertised a server trying to impersonate a larger server. When you join this fake server, it is filled with gore and you get autobanned and the ban message includes the scam link. This tricks people even more into thinking they are in trouble.
They will send a friend request from their account to check your profile but also to see if you have any rare badges they can sell. They also check if you own a large bot as well :)
They can see your IP from the live chat which makes it difficult to scambait. If you want to piss off people using live chat, make sure to use a fake email and use a VPN if you want to be extra safe.
Man these scammers become more and more lame by the minute. They run out of original methods, clearly. So they revert to absolute chanceless crap like this.

It seems the live chat button has disapeared from their website. If this was caused by the ~18,000 people ( so far) who may or may not have tried to scambait this guy, that would be hilarious

@@squid_fm Ignoring the fact that DDOSing is illegal, this scam site is being probably being hosted by a legitimate help desk service. It's not only pretty difficult to DDOS a website behind something like CloudFlare, but would also theoretically take down other legitimate help desks.
I reported it to the chat company, they said they would remove support to chat on there. I also contacted the helpdesk company to remove the entire site as well
Another red flag you never discussed is that Discord would directly send you a message, not through Dyno.

Just opened the website to see they took down the live chat feature entirely but the website is still up
I tried to go to the website but am unable to find or reach it

The community section of discord support site functions like a forum but it looks almost exactly like a support article except for the parts where it says /community/ instead of /articles/ in the url (the video covered this)
The other indicator of reading the community section is that it says "Discord > Feedback" in the breadcrumb navigation
And the sidebar that /articles/ has but not /community/

IP addresses show general location, they're not useful in any way.
Unless you're living in a rural area and the ISP is also there, then you're cool

Ngl, the way discord laid this out is very, very misleading. That forum post looked way too similar to an article written by the actual discord team with that URL and the website's styling. I had no idea that discord even had community forums and would have thought it is real until it asked to go to that third party website.

Somehow not surprised that Discord can't even properly moderate their own forums....
I think they took down the live chat because the website is still up but the chat button is gone. Or maybe someone reported it to the livechat host.

One thing i thought about fraud websites (websites made to impersonate well established websites) is that i hover over any of the buttons, click them and if they ACTUALLY work, i'd do more digging like click more different buttons. But thats just my own way of knowing its not a fake website. P.S: I do this when links redirect me directly to the download page, not the actual home page, and if the said link is already sending me to the download area, i'd usually go to the homepage, FAQ, or other buttons that i can find if they actually work not like just there to exist not functioning other being readable (making them look a bit legitimate if the person doesnt suspect its a fake website.) A great example of it is the one from OBS studio thing, searched it up and i saw this ad almost the same as the official OBS website. I clicked on the fake instead of the legitimate and downloaded it, google discarded the said file. I was wondering why? And i tried hovereing over the help/forum button in the page and they do not work, they are just like normal text, not a text with a link inside them, and thats how i knew its just fake as it is.

Fun fact : that guy is actually lithuanian, as we can see in his name. Gerai in our launguage usually means okay (otherwise im incredibly wrong, but if im not, you have been pronouncing that incorrectly)

Im Lithuanian, and while his name could be Lithuanian, there is also 5-7 other possible origins as well. Ive met an American (hispanic origin) with that name before.

1 way to find out if its a scam is if they answer because discord 99.9% of the time will just ignore you

They'll either send an email or send a message with their discord account. It actually says that it's a legitimate Discord account; I got both once.

I reported them to Crisp (the provider for their livechat) and they have suspended their account. Also waiting on a response from Helpscout.
