The Michelson interferometer is historically important for its use by Michelson and Morley in 1887 to provide experimental evidence against the theory of the luminiferous aether. Michelson subsequently used the interferometer to measure the length of the standard metre in terms of the wavelength of an atomic spectral line.
The basic idea of how an interferometer works, is to split a beam of light into two beams; delay one with respect to the other, and then recombine them to observe their interference.

You see circular fringes when you add a len between the laser and the beam splitter. The wave is supposed to converge or something like that. I want that explanation thought

There is no lens in between the laser and beam splitter. We are placing a glass plate for the measurement of the refractive index of the glass plate.
For more information about this experiment, please refer the following link.

If the laser beam light can be split in faze and antifaze path and destroed at recombination by distructive interferation, where is disapearing the fotons energy. Can be the conservation of energy low broken by interferometery. Please, I need a qualified explanation.
