I've owned a 2.2i since 2007. I like it because firstly, the styling, classic roadster with a unique modern twist that is ageing very well. The driving position & experience is always a thrill. The straight six makes a nice growl. As it aged, overall it has been very reliable. On average maybe one thing per year had to be replaced, nothing major. Water pump, door mirror glass fell out, one cylinder coil pack, bushings an obvious one & the gasket seal and lastly due to freezing weather the wiper motor and window regulator. Oh and yes the roof motor had to be relocated but fortunately it cleaned up well and works fine now.
I am very happy with my 03 Z4, the car runs great, is fast and handles fantastic. I have performed usual and some unusual maintenance, I bought it at auction cheap and have done all the maintenance myself. My Power convertible works, and my fuel gauge works (NOW). I live in the mountains and the car and mountain roads are a great fun combination.
@@gsgcarreviews No, couldn't find a stick/manual at auction that wasn't clapped out. I drive it in traffic so a manual would suck on the LA freeways at rush hour/gridlock.
Thanks for nice review! I'm a happy owner of an E85 Z4 3,0i. 2005 mod. Done totally approx 160' km. (100'miles) just normal mtn. Oil, plugs, etc. Ownership since 2017. Never missed a beat and it drives wonderfully.. Esp. on rugged Norwegian montain roads.
I too own a E85 2005BMWZ4 2.5. I’d like to relate it as your own Private Aircraft or a Poor man’s Lamborghini. An Amazing Car to get thru tough City Traffic & even BETTER car for long Cruises by the Coast.
I love my 03 Z4 3.0i... not as much raw horsepower as my 94 Corvette had (305) but far more nimble. The throttle is crisp when you lean into it and gets to speed in a hurry. I call her "my poor man's Cobra". Like the Shelby, you're sitting just ahead of the rear suspension.
@@gsgcarreviews thanks. I live in Chicago but how much should I expect to spend on wrapping my Z4 ??? BTW, you should get one, It is the ultimate driving machine !!!
Shops charge as much as 3k+ even as "homie hookup" lol. But I only charge 1.5k for now Haha I was scouring OfferUp yesterday and found some good deals so maybeee
My daughter has a s 2000. We're going to be upgrading them concurrently as funding permits. Can't wait to put them against each other at Barber MSP as the building progresses.
What do you think... is the BMW z4 still worth owning?

That's awesome! Everyone I spoke with do all the maintenance on these cars even if it's unnecessary haha. Y'all must really love 'em

Where did you get that little screen showing the rpm?

Love to hear it these things can really turn
Best looking roadster in 2024. Hands down a superb head turner.
Hey, what kind of phone holders is in the car ??
It's a brand called Lamical, one of those cd mounted ones

the Honda has a cheap Walmart plastic interior with bland body lines, the excellent engine is it's only saving grace...
Everyone loves the Honda S2000. And everyone hates this Z4.
You are SO WRONG. Z4s are amazing cars with plenty of people that absolutely love them. Especially the Z4 3.0si Coupe E86.
Duck for cover bro 👀
@@polinazdramatazidia5158yep my clients have been huge fanatics of them

S2K costs over 20 grand, they're nice but def not as comfy. Used Z4s are so cheap..
