    The King cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) is the longest venomous snake in the world and the Mulga snake (Pseudechis australis) is the largest venomous snake of Australia. Both species have huge venom yields and they prey upon other snakes. Both the King cobra and the Mulga snake /King brown snake are very powerful. But which one is deadlier? In this video we use 5 categories to find out who would win a hypothetical battle between these deadly snakes! We compare the behavior, size, speed, venom and also how difficult it is to handle these snakes.
    Remember that snakes are never aggressive, only defensive if they feel threatened! Calm handler = calm snake.

    I don't think a King Cobra would be able to eat a Mulga Snake . The Mulga Snake venom is very potent and they have built in chemical defences against bites from other more toxic venom Australian snakes and as seen with all snake fights both snakes are bitten in the struggle. The King Cobra would probably die after a confrontation with a Mulga Snake. Australian land snakes venom is the most potent in the world closely followed African snakes such as Black Mambas. The Mulga Snake would not be able to eat a King Cobra unless it was a baby.

    • @LivingZoology
      @LivingZoology  Před 6 měsíci

      Who knows how immune the Mulga snake is against venom of a snake which does not live in Australia. Also, the King cobra is intelligent and when it attacks venomous snakes it grabs them by the head so they don’t bite. Who knows what would happen if these two met, that’s why we compare them using 5 categories.

    When I was a child a kid in my class brought a live brown snake (which is more poisonous then the king brown a.k.a mulga snake) to school on the bus in a box. His dad apparently caught it whilst gardening after finding it nesting near his house . He showed the class the snake for morning news and then the teacher put it in its box on the shelf until home time when the kid took it back home and let it go. This was in the late 80's and I guess this would be frowned upon these days .

      @@graemebell8929I have a feeling that he’s referring to the Pseudonaja genus of brown snake found in Australia, not the Storeria genus of North America. Both genus have a snake called the eastern brown snake but the one found in Australia is considered the second most venomous land snake in the world.
      If he’s in North America though, whoever told him that it is more venomous than the king brown snake would have to be an idiot. That is definitely a possibility since I had a pet shop owner that said he was a snake expert tell me that I needed to be careful with my king snake. I asked why and this idiot actually said that because they ate rattlesnakes, it made their bite poisonous. First off, that is plainly BS and second, snake people don’t say poisonous when they mean venomous.

    Living Zoology you always do great comparisons.
    I agree with you the King Cobra only because of its size but it would be no pushover the two snakes of comparable size would be a much more interesting contest. One advantage the Mulga has is it can strike faster holds on and delivers equally large amounts of venom. We know both snakes are immune to the most lethal neurotoxins of the Elapidae although snakes from a different geographical area may not be immune to each other's venom whether the Mulga is immune to the KCs venom may be debatable but is the KC able to tolerate massive doses of highly potent mycotoxins, cytotoxins, hemotoxins, and other compounds in the venom?
    It may be the case that both snakes end up dead.

    • @LivingZoology
      @LivingZoology  Před 10 měsíci +3

      The King cobra and the Mulga snake of a similar size would be a tough battle for sure. The King cobra is not fully immune even to venoms of snakes it hunts naturally. It is very probable that both species would have troubles surviving a bite from each other. Thank you for watching!

    • @davidhunternyc1

      Yes, it seems that the King Cobra may not be immune to the Mulga's 4 different venom types whereas the Mulga is immune to the deadliest snake in the world, the Inland Taipan. If the Mulga bit the King Cobra first, with its faster strike, I don't see how the King Cobra could come out the winner.
