Jessica's Theme, or "Breaking in the Colt," is one of the most beautiful pieces written for television. I remember watching The Man From Snowy River and how this piece of music stood out as one of the special parts of the film. It's truly a timeless classic. I've always enjoyed playing Jessica's Theme for people who enjoyed The Man From Snowy River, and I figured a delicate arrangement of it would be a great way to start this new recording journey of mine.

Love the movie so much! The fact that I’ve met the whole cast is incredible and the fact that all of my family were in it and supplied most of the horses for the cast and the cast lived at my house while they were filming is just a big part of my family!!

This piece is first and foremost in the hearts of all us Australians. What an exhilarating and inspiring composition by
Mr Bruce Rowland!👏👏👏
Played perfectly by this accomplished pianist 👏👏👏 Bravo !!!!
This movie has such an amazing score.
One of the most beautiful movie themes I have ever heard. I have remembered it all this time.
Me too❤
In my opinion, this is one of , if not THE best piano songs ever. And this was an absolutely amazing cover of it! Well done!
and one of the best movies ever, too!
Man what a cover! Great to still see people showing love for this movie. It was one of Australia's most successful films ever when it was released. This music along with that great montage in the film is so beautiful. The rest of the score is incredible too. Love it
Im from Australia and I actually had the opportunity to ride the main horse in this movie, his name was Mr Bow Jangles, I felt so blessed I had that opportunity. Brilliant movie. And Brilliant playing thanks for sharing :)
I still LOVE THAT MOVIE AND THIS SONG!!!!!!
That is amazing mate wish I could play like that. I travelled to Alaska from Australia and in the middle of nowhere in a tiny little town I met a lady who's favourite movie of all time was The Man from Snowy River. Such a great movie.
My favourite movie of all time. I had my picture taken with Tom Burlinson almost 35 years after the film was released and I was so excited!
This is mesmerizing. I need more of this in my life.
Oh...there's plenty more where this came from 😏 Thank you!
Tyler Sustare me too
Pauliano,
As a musician your cover here was brilliant, sensitive, and moving. I absolutely loved your sensibility to let the music breathe and not rush from phrase to phrase unless the music was pushing. Also loved your extremely elegant and quite fitting embellishments. They completely added to the piece and gave it an amazing flare, completely maintaining the piece’s character (something I consider a feat).
Visually, this video is fantastic and I’ll be learning your every move from it! Haha
I need to look into the making of this kind of visual because it has me so intrigued on how it works.
As a huge fan of the film, you brought me right into it.
Thank you for the great performance and stunning visual aid. I was mesmerized.
Thank you for your very gracious review; it's for people like you this channel exists. I appreciate you! Thanks for watching!
Reminds me of my late mother. She played this beautifully. Miss her everyday.

Pauliano is breaking the colt on the black and whites, this piece displays excellence. If you can play this the world is your oyster
Wonderful movie such a classic 🍺😎👌🇨🇱
Absolutely breathtaking. Still amazing after back to back viewings.
I love this song and I’m going to learn how to play it.
Thankyou!! I'm going to have to practice this for the next 20 years or so but it's worth it!!

Chill bumps 🙂
Thank you for this. This is my favorite piece of music from my childhood
Such a cool way to present this music!
Thanks Bart! I appreciate you, man!
I can say that it is at a least a 3 part show, watching the fingers, then watch again for the animation and then closing your eyes and just listing to bliss. Very Awesome and well done! TY for sharing yet another.
Fantastic insight! 👌👌
So amazing! Such a cool combo of beautiful music, stunning visuals, and pure talent. Can’t wait to see what comes next! 👌🏼
Thank you! Can't wait to do a collab!! 📦

I love this song so much. Whenever I’m riding my horse I start singing this song😂
How did you sing it, there are no lyrics?
Love this song soooo much. I've been playing piano since I was six years old, and I'm learning how to play this song slowly . Amazing job. Sounds beautiful
Wonderful! Love the AR too 😊
Incredibily magical and moving!!
A beautiful song & loved hearing it while watching the movie & wanted to hear it again & found this on CZcams & saved it as a favorite of mine & find it absolutely such a simple beautiful song to just sit by self & listen to at anytime! I wish I could play piano, my saxophone does not not sound as special! Thank you very much your time & energy to post this song!! Means a lot to an old man!!
Would love to hear this on sax!
Such a beautiful song. Well done ✅
Love this movie
One of my favorite movies and pieces. Outstanding presentation.
So moving and beautiful. The music in the movie is powerful, moving, and just so beautiful. The Man From Snowy River is an all time favorite. Great job on the piano!😍 Rowland's piano arrangement I like even better maybe than the soundtrack.
And you hit the last notes to perfection join well done
Paul..this is brilliant and full of so many feelings. Great performance! Hopefully you will record more of your music and share it with us. Keep at it!
How does this video not have more likes! So beautiful 😍
I do not know anything about playing the piano or never really watched someone play as I did here. All I can say is mad props! Watching all the keys with hand, eye coordination I have much more respect for those that play and still are in awwww. This reminded me of Guitar Hero for a second and I was thinking holy crap I need this game!
I'm so glad you liked it! Thank you so much for the kind words! More to come!
They should make a piano hero.
Thank you Pauliano. So simple yet so delicate.
I’ve heard this song a thousand times since I was very young, you have an amazing talent, thank you.
Oh my, this is incredible! Excellent job, you really nailed this song!
You got me at 6 seconds. I think i'm in love.
Amazing sir! Some of my favourite music from one of my favourite movies.
That's amazing. One of my all time favorite movies!
Breathtaking!!
Brilliant!!!!
Beautiful!!
That was so cool! just magical
Beautiful! I love this song!!
Amazing!
Wow!. You played this very well. This was the first piano piece (beyond the basics) that I memorized back in high school. I love the movie "The Man from Snowy River" and "Jessica's Theme" in the movie as I was asking my piano teacher to let me play something more complicated. It was nice hearing this played on the piano instead of the harpsichord. Thank you. 🙂
Thanks for watching, I hope you've kept up your piano since high school!
Oh . . . if only I was at this level in my playing, what I would give to have this much talent.
What you have to give is time and dedication it's never too late to give it!
Love it
Sublime..
Guys! That’s my TAB mentor!!!
This was really awesome! I love that you chose this song, it is very beautiful!
Absolutely amazing talent!
This deserves way more view!
Wow! Incredibly well done. I haven't heard this song in some years but me thinks you added a lot of amazing flare to it... lovely and very moving. Thank you!
Thank you for your lovely comment, and thanks for watching!
I can almost hear the violins and other instruments as I listen to this. Very well done!
綺麗です。♥️
Yessss! The full version of that Instagram teaser. I can’t believe I didn’t see this yet. You’re amazing, Paul!
Haha dude thank you! And thanks for watchin!
you're amazing.
Thank you!! 🙏🏼
I love this movie also! Even to this day the music is so powerful, it can bring tears to my eyes. I will admit the FULL chase scene is my favorite. Wish I could have been there for the filming. I still really wish Kirk Douglas was in the second film, I think it would have been different and better. Don’t get me wrong, Brian Dennehy is an awesome actor, but the character was best played by the original.
Never heard of the book or movie. It was 1982 at OU and I was in second year and staring to take classes I wanted to take and not ones I had to take. I needed a literature class and chose one by Dr. Ron Querry. It was one of those epic moments I would remember forever. The text for the class, "Man from Snowy River". He walked in one time and started asking about the chapter we were discussing. Nobody would answer and I popped out what I thought was a minimal answer. I did know the answer to the third question. But the fourth was the death knell. He said, "Anyone except Mark answers this one". Nobody answered. So he dismissed class.
Beautiful. My wife is so enraptured by this work. I'm looking for the score. Maybe I'll play it as well as you, for her one day.
❤🌻
This is beautiful! I would love to know where to buy/download the sheet music!
I love the embellishments, it makes up for the strings in the soundtrack. Since this piece is popular mainstream oeuvre, improvisation becomes it. I tried to treat it in a strict classical manner according to the transcriber but it lost my emotion. I listened to soundtrack and picked up a few things to add.
Thank you! And yes, I couldn't agree more.
I love this. Is there a published version of this. If not exactly the same, close to it. What I have purchased definitely does not have all the runs, etc
Thank you! This is my own interpretation of the piece as it's published in a very old book of music from the film. I plan on releasing the sheets for all my interpretations sometime in the future. Stay tuned!
Do you have sheet music for this? Beautiful
It thats a digital piano, i want one. ❤️😍
This is as good as fur elise...
Hello pauliano, A beautiful rendition of this lovely piece, I am wondering if you have sheets plus a midi file for purchase, await your reply, Kind regards Noeline
My sister used to play this
fantstic im proud to be an aussie
How did you get the lights up there like that? Is that a video effect or is that some sort of app? It looks brilliant
I'm trying to learn this, any tips on how to?
Hi, loved this.
Is this your arrangement?
Wondering where you got it?
Thank you! I used a very old copy of the original sheet music that I had and added variations here and there; I'll be releasing the sheet music for this arrangement in the coming weeks!
Pauliono,
Good Evening and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! I have a question for you and if you could let me know sooner than later I would greatly appreciate it! I just would like to know what program you are using to create the graphics?
Thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you, and the very same to you! The graphics are created with Adobe After Effects.
Where can one find the midi file for this, I want to play this song so badly it reminds me of my late father.
Send me a message on Instagram or FB, I can send it to ya.
Do you have sheet music for this?
Not at the moment, but I'm very close to launching a sheet music store that will have it! Sign up for updates at pauliano.com. Thanks for watching!
What grade is this???????? I need to know. I don't read music but I need it for my GCSE
my mum named my sister jessica from the movie
Is it bad I never knew the movie was an Australian film even tho I've been watching sense I was old enough to understand what movies were
Who arranged this? Or is this the original arrangement?
It's about 50/50, half of it is pulled from the soundtrack, and half of it is embellished, arranged, interpreted.
Good stuff, dont know why "Amazon Empire: The Rise and Reign of Jeff Bezos" is the next recommended video lol but that prolly says more about my viewing history than anything else.
lol I love this so much.
This helped but I think it would be easier to fallow along if the golden bears were more precise.
😢😢

Is this audio from your video copyrighted ? Would you happy for it to be used in a promotional video for the Australian Brumby Alliance?
