- Everyone is very aware of how many privileges other people have, but not aware of how many privileges and how many blessings they have. How are you going to be grateful for your own blessings when you are too concerned about what others have? Comparison is the thief of joy.
Men complain about how height determines everything in life, how good looks determine everything in life. Women complain about the pretty privilege. How when someone has it then it automatically makes their life better. People just love to complain.
Recognize your own blessings in life. Be grateful for what you have. Make the best of what you have. You feel like a victim cuz you don't recognize the blessings in your life.
I completely agree with that. I've witnessed it in my own life: I've come from a relatively poor family, and my parents, who had grown up during WWII, and experienced the aftermath of it, barely had any education. Still, they managed to raise three children, including me. Myself, I've been in situations of being short on money and/or food before, and I'm grateful I have work that I enjoy doing, that I have a roof over my head, and that I can afford to buy food. When someone asks me for a small sum of money, and I happen to have it on me, I give it to them. If I had great wealth, I would put it to good use. I want to see mankind flourish and prosper, not destroy itself. Whenever I catch myself at being negative, I try to analyze why I'm having those thoughts. The only thing I've been ever been envious of was people having relationships, because I've never been in one, and I wanted to have a wife since childhood. Somehow, I've been pretty unattractive for large parts of my life, and perhaps I wanted people to see behind the veil, behind my avatar. But it often seemed that no-one even bothered. Sometimes it's as if I'm the loniest guy on the planet. But I do need to get rid of that thinking. I need to enjoy life more as it is, and not wish for things that I potentially cannot have. Often, I hate this life. But your post today reminded me to be even more grateful than I already am.
Thank you for sharing your story. Perhaps, it is time for you to appreciate who you are in all completeness, avatar included? Maybe you have been grateful for everything other than yourself. From a point of consciousness you are whole and complete whether you are alone or in a relationship. Best of luck 👍
