  • A visit to Ord House caravan site, in early April 2017. The first caravan site in England our boys have visited. They loved it - we loved it. It was a fantastic site. The weather was great. The boys played out from morning until night. We will definitely go back. Book in advance, because this site is very popular. Enjoy!

Came across this by accident! I had my first ever job working in the restaurant from 1990 to 1997 under the previous owners. It's a gorgeous site, hasn't changed much since back then! Glad you enjoyed it 😊

Thanks again. Looking to head to Northumberland again next spring, so this is definitely one to consider. ~Rich.

It's a beautiful site, we live just opposite and often walk through with our little Cocker Spaniel. Did you see the pond near the top?

Neil S I didn't see the pond. We'll be back though. In fact we went back a few weeks ago. This time I asked a few local dog walkers about other walks. Walked all along south side of Tweed to Union Bridge and back on north side. Then went across to north side at A1 bridge and along to Berwick then back along south side to East Ord. Loved it. Uploaded a Union Bridge video. Will definitely return again. Definitely. 👍

We love the Chain Bridge! Living in East Ord we often do that walk along one side over the bridge and back down (6 miles) if you're lucky you sometimes catch a glimpse of the otters. The Honey Farm is also a lovely place to visit, nice cake! Here's a pic of my little Spot on the Chain Bridge www.flickr.com/photos/neilstalker/33541854752/in/datetaken/

Neil S Brilliant. I'm sure T-dog & Spot would have a ball together on that walk. Bit steep & slippy on the south side which is why I took the decision to crack on over the bridge and come back on the north side. Got a bit lost on way to engineers' bridge (the leaning one), but got there in the end. Thanks for the tips & comments. Much appreciated.

Just watched your vid about the walk over the Chain Bridge, it's brilliant! Yeah you're right about it being slippy, i've gone down on quite a few occasions now. There's a little alternative route, when you cross the A1 at Ord (south side of river) and walk over towards the steps, bear off to the left and walk along to the old railway line which will bring you out on the Horncliffe road, you then walk north towards West Ord which brings you out past that slippery sloping piece of the walk :)

Neil S Brilliant, Neil. Thank you. I'll check that alternative route out next time I'm down.
