Not many people know about the Dutch Pyramid, better known as the Pyramid of Austerlitz. It’s situated in a National Park in the Province of Utrecht in the Netherlands.
Kayleigh from the History with Kayleigh channel has researched and written this entire video. This is her work, and you could say, is a showcase of the incredible level of research she puts into her subjects, so please do subscribe to her fantastic channel. I’ve left a link at the top of the description.
Unlike other examples around the world, like the Great Pyramid of Egypt, the Dutch Pyramid of Austerlitz is not thousands of years old, but hundreds, and its origins go back to Auguste de Marmont, who was part of Napoleon Bonaparte's Egyptian entourage in the late 18th century.
He was captivated by the Giza pyramids and when in the Netherlands, he and his men began a project, to create a pyramid from earth and peat. Construction started on September 10th 1804.
In this video, in collaboration with History with Kayleigh, we present the full history of the Dutch Pyramid of Austerlitz, as well as the history of Utrechtse Heuvelrug (Utrechtse Ridge) where it is situated.

Ever see the meme about the difference between men and women in photographing a subject? A man takes a photo of the subject with the subject centered in the photo and he is not in the photo. A woman takes a photo as a selfie opportunity, she is centered in the photo and the subject is shunted to the side. I go to her channel and EVERY video thumbnail is her face.

If anything, it shows how quickly nature reclaims human constructions, if not build by extremely durable materials. Even then, roots have no problem finding it's way through small cracks and openings and are in time capable of demolishing even (megalithic) stone constructions. Erosion by the elements can undermine foundations, wear rocks and stone. Egypt has almost the best conditions with little vegetation and no heavy water erosion (in recent times). In the Amazon or the Indian jungle a very different picture. Without modern tools like lidar we wouldn't even recognize many manmade structures. In India entire temples have been completely demolished and swallowed by nature in just a thousand years or so. In the blink of an eye. Wood and most metals will be gone even sooner. In Greece we have one wooden plaque of an ancient unknown language that got by luck preserved. Just one. The people apparently wrote on wooden sheets. All gone.
Sites like in 'Tas Tepeler' are so incredible precious for surviving in such condition.
Nice collaboration! :) Napoleon gets a bad rep but he had an 'age of enlightenment' side too. Things like standardization; a great help for science. Was keen on education and had plans to lift the people out of poverty. Wonder how our country would have fared if Napoleon had been able to consolidate his empire.

This is why when they built the Great Pyramid it was so incredibly important to make it out of solid stone on a proper foundation, so that none of the stones moved, allowing the correct measurements to be taken so that one comes to the proper mathematical conclusions of what is denoted by the measurement itself. "There shall be no decorations, only proportion".
With that said however there is multiple symbols, engravings and inscriptions within the king's chamber, unfortunately we can't read the early style cuneiform script on the wall above the bull as they are just too faded, but we can sure get a heck of a lot of information from the Alpha and Omega engravings on the "sarcophagus", just like we can from the size of the room itself, and the amount blocks that make up the walls, ect...

They used the two pyramids as way points and navigational aids on their fun filled trips to shower joy upon the German Fatherland. They also marked the point at which English based P-47 fighter escorts had to turn back. And the point at which German BF109 fighter interceptors would welcome them. I had not heard of this pyramid before. What fascinates me most about is how many times it has been renovated/modified in a short couple of hundred years. Really makes me think about the Egyptian pyramids and that they passed through all those different rulers of different dynasties with different ideas of how things should be. It’s very likely those pyramids saw many changes over all those years so to pin them down to an exact window of time is probably impossible.

Cool bro, hope Kayleigh gets some extra subs, being Dutch myself i think she deserves some more views and there is more than enough crazy stuff to explore even in our small country. Maybe make a doggerbank vid or about Frisians and Scottish. Keep up the good work

Pyramid means fire in the middle . Which for ancients was the template for Ascension. Why? With this clay I shall build my pyramid. Clay=info comes together and forms Bricks=comparison which come together to give you Proportion=structure which eventually starts rising to give Measure because everything leads to a single point which gives you something to measure theTruth. Then when Understanding=Capstone occurs you shine like a diamond in a field of Clay or the fire in the middle is realized. Thx matt

2: 22, It's the same in other parts of the world too, Vietnam being a good example - too big to call a hill, and too small to call a mountain. Sounds like a good project for Matt and Kayleigh, making a name for the earth's many intermediate-sized land bumps.
And what a pleasant surprise the pairing of Matt and Kayleigh is.
