EXCELLENT! Now set these Heads straight with the definitive Viola Lee Blues episode! Straight primal psych monster weirdo blues mutant! Only you can do it justice, Davvy!
Viola is coming soon, homie!
Check out Riko and Whaler Collective’s cover of viola lee blues, primal and electric as fuck
Some of the bass on That’s it for the other one is unreal
I hate the Dead haters they have no real sense of what music is compared to songs different world where they have already decided what’s good and bad based on a short term judgmental egotistical ideal
Where is viola davy pleasee
I really enjoy the looks when you crack yourself up in the lessons... "bop bop...bop bop...scrape scrape scrape..." LOL... Awesome tune - thanks for all the words of wisdom !
Gotta lean into the silly stuff. I refuse to take myself seriously
The first bass notes of Other One are so insane
Hey Davvy!
Thanks for this lesson, awesome as ever!
Keep on jamming, man!
I've been playing acoustic for 4 years, this summer i'm getting my first electric guitar and i'm so glad i found this channel

Thanks for joining the fam, Brandon!
I'm so happy I happened across your lessons brother, they're really helping me open my mind up to the guitar neck and have fun!
Hell yeah!

Love the dangerously fast rate of amazing content. Keep up the good work for the community bossman
I’m always trying my best, fam

Yoooo! My OC-3 came while I was watching this just now. Synchronicity my dude!
God damn if this isn't the finest edutainment I ever saw. Help on the way and Terrapin please
I've been playing this since the day it came out in August 1968...and I NEVER thought there would be a "how to" vid on it. What a surprise. Nice job. I look forward to watching the other one...that is, Cryptical Envelopment...and how about New Potato Caboose and Born Cross-Eyed to complete the suite???? A desert island disc for me if there was ever one.
Yes ,Jeff has the best backing tracks 🎸
And he’s cool as shite,like Y’all brother !!
your tutorials are funny and informative thanks Davvvvvvvvvvvy
Thanks for being part of the fam!
The Dead picked up the rhythm from the Yardbirds "Little Games"
thanks for another great video Davvy! would you ever consider bringing out the acoustic for a lesson?
As soon as the channel is making enough money, I’ll be doing an entire acoustic series.
Love these!! Keep em coming. Looks Like Rain soon??
Been waiting sooooo long ❤️
Sweet! Are you teaching some of bobby's chords next week?
Hope you consider doing That’s it for the Other One
Having some trouble with it
Thanks for the awesome content 💥
I’ve already done both the other one and cryptically envelopment
@@TobyDavvy guess I missed it thanks I’ll go look for it
@@TobyDavvy found it sorry 👍
No worries, bro! I know there’s a lot to go through.
@@TobyDavvy 👍
In 11th grade ‘91 this was always in my car
I just happened to find one of your tutorials and I have been hooked. I learned 3 songs in a week. What kind of guitar is that?
Looking forward to the crossover with Jeff
Dorian is the same as minor except the 6th is played sharp (1/2 step up).
Happy for your channel and the content you cover. However, it is common for us to 'think' we are hearing only E>D. Since we are talking Grateful Dead, everything is interchangeable, right? If you actually give a closer listen, we can here the G>D as passing chords, instead of only the E>D. It would be: E EE E EE E EE EGD, E EE E EE E EE EGD (triplet feel)
Also, some of the Williams backing tracks are not correct and off-beat at times. Still, really fun stuff to play along with. Practice does not make perfect. It only makes you better at what you practice, including playing wrong. Not always a good thing to get good at.
Gotta Bractice to the Packing tracks.
Dude!!, No one ever talks in depth about the Dead's music. Everything is about the Party Scene in all the books and documentaries. I am tired of hearing the same old party scene stories. Someone needs to make an in depth documentary on Grateful Dead Music Theory. It's way more interesting. Thanks for making this video. Once I learn more over the next few years maybe ill put it together.
I love the rhythm of this song, it's like a phat ass poly rhythm, it makes you feel like you are on Two Busses and Jumping between them whenever one of the boys gets behind the wheel and opens the door for you. Playing in the band 10/8 during Billy Solo drummer years takes me to some deep dark places also. Cryptical's ending in early 69 also has some type of Rhythm that will conjure up unified conspiracy theories right into the a rabbit hole but on the other side you come on in a moon crater....
My dude I need a lesson for Crazy Fingers
It’s comin!
You should do a collaboration with my guitar teacher. He is on CZcams under the name Carlo Zakers. He has a great lesson for So many Roads and for Unbroken chain. He has been playing in a dead cover band since the early 1980s as the Jerry guy,. Check out his CZcams channel..
I hear the main theme for moe.’s song “meat” in the verses of this tune 🤔
Interesting. I’ve never heard that before.
The most Dreads and sport’n the Frank Zappa stash
Hey quick question. you solo in Em scale and pentatonic for the minor parts, BUT when you change into Major, Do you use the E Major pentatonic scale positions, or the Full E Major Scale ?? Does it sound more Jerry when you use all 7 Notes in the E Major scale, or just the 5 in the E major pentatonic???
Yes, I’m just using E major when I switch over, but I try to throw in some mixo and Dorian when switching back and forth to ease that transition.
funny one
Plzzzzz do a a full that's it for the other one tutorial!
I did. The other song within it is called cryptical envelopment
@@TobyDavvy oh shit I'm dumb
@@TobyDavvy wait what abt quadllibet for tender feet and the faster we go the rounder we get?
How you liking the Weber Cali's?
I’m loving them. The speaker and cabinet video will be dropping next week.
@@TobyDavvy awesome, I ended up getting some of the Cali's for my 2 12 i love them.
Thursday highlight
Preesh, homie
Is dark star next?
Nah, bro. I say in the video that next week is cryptical envelopment.
It would be helpful if you included links to bypass the chitchat....
Nah
Better quit that methin around!
