- After a lot of encouragement from Kelly Boy Delima, Mento Mele Apana and Billy V (with his headcam) of Hawaiian 105 KINE radio, along with kumu hula Hinaleimoana Wong-Kalu lead this lively Samoan siva at the Kamehameha Schools 84th Annual Ho`olaule`a on the Kapalama Campus on February 22, 2014.

This song and dance are actually Samoan, but it's all part of the "Hawaiian Style" or Hawaiian/Polynesian culture in Hawai'i which everyone used to be able to participate in. Sadly, because of the coronavirus pandemic, life is very different now and we have not been able to have events like this or any gatherings of more than 10 people. Because of lockdowns from March 2020, musicians, dancers, and other entertainers have been out of work and they cannot travel to perform, so many are trying to get by with donations for performances online. Many businesses and activities are still closed or no longer exist, and there are many travel and quarantine restrictions for travelers to Hawai'i, so although the state is trying to reopen to tourism as of October 2020, it will be a long time before visitors can comfortably enjoy a vacation in Hawaii or residents can once again enjoy cultural events like this. I hope you will someday be able to visit Hawai'i, but life is different now.
@@JodyY808 Thank you. I dont know much about the culture, but open to learn. I met only one person from Fiji islands long ago. Never seen such beauty in my life. It is history now :) I just this coronavirus go away fast. it is a disater for all of us in this world. I live in the countryside of Portugal. Very calm here. No virus :)
