That's me subscribed I watch many youtube pond videos and in my opinion anyone can buy an expensive filter and talk about fish but there is more to it some of us have wives that moan when we spend the same as a second hand car on our ponds or filters or fish lol

I had the rain like that the other day while fishing sun was shining when I went out what a night mare thats British weather for ya still carried on catching though as you say happy days.

Always surprises me how much k1 then water you can get into the same space nice addon that and gives you that bit more speed on water past the filter with no name. The rain caught me out today as well bud like you just as finishing I had to pic the tools up fast and run for it.

I converted one of the bays in my 6-bay filter box a while back to be a moving bed as a test. Bought K3 media as it was cheap. I also used 2 of the 4-inch air disks.

you could try using a microwave to sterilise the media. smaller quantities, but requiring less time to do the job. good demo :-)
Mate I had that on my end cap in the winter didn't know what it was and I had that for only a couple of months! Because I have a diffuser I use in the winter wich is just a long pipe with holes and end cap. But yh learnt something from you yet again thanks!

Maybe it is a good idea to make a bottom in the box with holes all over it, aprox 5cm above the bottom. All the dirt will sink down under the bottom and with an extra outlet on the bottom you can flush the dirt away easy. Even easier when you also put a airstone under the bottom to get the dirt moving when flusing the filter.

It's no point no dirt will settle in a moving bed it's good just the way it is,
U will need to clean a moving bed by bubbling and draining defo 👍

I had nitrate problem I added bhm to shower well worth it. Good idea with moving bed I was going to add more k1 to nexus but evolution aqua at national show advised not to as less is more and only add more if filter is struggling

Hey James, great videos watched and followed them all. I’m new to pond keeping and hoping to keep koi. As all koi keepers the cost f powering it all runs away with you. So my question is what’s your thoughts on doing some videos on energy saving ideas. For example running a Venturi air supply rather than running air pumps, running multiple filters from one pump. I have a descent size pressurised filter at he minute and would love to know how to add to it withought powering more pumps and so on

Hi. Have you considered putting a T on the inlet to disperse the water a bit on the K1 Filter? Obviously you would need another cage. Or maybe even a bend? It would just stop it tracking straight through a bit.

Great upgrade there and great use of making use of unused space. Might make one myself! What size is the air pump?
Well I got a 80l min on it but only useing 2 of the 8 pipelines so a 40l pulp would work fine
How are you getting on with those filter cages? I bought 5 of them from the same place and then thought...these aren't going to let enough water through 😬
Have you used the new air ring from a few weeks ago? I have a 20cm ceramic disk but it causes a lot of surface disturbance even with a low flow....was hoping the air rings would be smaller bubbles so less movement????

It’s called a bulkhead or tank connector and I went with 2 ins

James I've brought some of that filter webbing from eco filter that u got sent ! How the hell do u assemble it to make it round and to stay in that shape !!! Any ideas ?

carp / coarse fishing ukangling uk-atv just biological as when I flush the epic out I think it takes away a lot of my biological bacteria the move in bed will allways stay fill up with water so should be better over time or should I say help more over time

you need 1 litre of air a minute to every 1 litre of k1 roughly and you need 2 litres of water to every 1 litre of k1 in the container

It’s a black mate but it’s a black sandtex paint meant to go on walls but works on wood as well
