Acupuncture can be very effective when the emotional aspects of the meridians are also looked at and addressed!

Acupuncture changed my life after traumatic injury. It reduced my pain and depression far more than meds. Conventional medicine is so very limited in what it can offer people for health and wellness. Alternative therapies really need to catch on everywhere. It is also supported by science, if that's important to you. Imo, what matters most is that it works.

Thank you for the video! I am doing a career change, from dentist to traditional Chinese medicine. I am still wondering if it is the best alternative for me. It does solve the problem of my current career with a more wholesome approach to health. How about the stress levels of a traditional Chinese doctor? Also, what is the difference between getting an acupuncturist degree vs a doctorate in TCM?

Acupuncture is pseudoscience.... it is not wholesome, just placebo effect.
But, well, it does make money.

Stress levels in TCM aren't going to be as high as a dentist, I am assuming since I don't know dentistry. You do deal with a lot of patients with more chronic illnesses that conventional means have not helped, along with people who have suffered minor to major injuries esp. if you do acu. And of course this required above avg care and empathy. I don't know for AB but in BC here registered acupuncturist is shorter and more limited compared to TCM which is longer and involves more knowledge in theory as well as moxibustion, herbalism, and other aspects of TCM. Hope this helps.

Hi Catalina. Out of curiosity did you follow through on making the switch? I'm thinking of doing a career change as well, and this is one of the paths I'm looking into. I'd love to hear more about your experience, your choice, and anything else you'd like to share.

Hi Nadine. What kind of diagnostics are taught? Do they cover blood chemistries and radiographs? Pathology like microscopic evaluation of cells and diseased tissues (not just lectures but hands on LAB ), Or just evaluating patients symptoms and deciding if things like WIND or HEAT are “unbalanced”? Serious question. Thank you

    • @AfroLatina3

Heidi Melissa Holtz We learn diagnosis from an Oriental Medicine perspective which has been in practice for over 2000 years. We study Western Pathologies and to learn what it looks like in the Oriental Medicine paradigm. Although we do not study microanalysis of cells, studies have shown definitive changes in cells and neuro chemistry of the body after acupuncture treatments. It takes many years to develop and refine the art and science of meridian, herbal and manual therapies learned in an Acupuncture program. We are not MDs, we are OMDs (Oriental Medical Doctor) DOMs (Doctor of Oriental Medicine) APs (Acupuncture Physicians) L.Ac. (Licensed Acupuncturist)

A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!! You CANNOT earn money as an acupuncturist today. It is simply impossible because insurance plans DO NOT cover treatments. It is all out-of-pocket.
