I bought myself a pair of these Edifier S3000 Pro's last week. After 7 days of intensive listening to them I can only say that every word Zeos has said about these is true. Probably even more than true. You can not convey in a 24 minute video what these speakers really sound like and what they are really capable of. I spent 2 months reading reviews and watching comparison video's and specs on the internet. Looked at all candidates in the price range of up to $2000 but in the end these Edifier S3000 Pro were my choice. I'll be using them for personal music listening enjoyment as well as mixing and mastering audio recordings. Thank you ZEOS for the amazing work you do. I am very grateful to you.

@@user85937 I wish I could think of a way to convince you that I wrote what I wrote out of enthusiasm. Nobody asked me to write this reply, nobody pays me to write anything (I wish they did!). I'd invite you to my home to come, see and listen to the speakers at my place. It is however my guess that you live in the United States, and I live in The Netherlands (Europe). But don't take my word for it, just buy them from Amazon and if you don't like what you hear, just return them and buy something else. But if you do like them as much as I do, please come back here and let me know! Best wishes, Jan.

@@John_van_Kleef As someone in the Netherlands, if it wasn't for this damn pandemic I'd probably take you up on this. Although I'm eyeing the S2000's as I don't need the wireless connection and could use the savings made from that choice, I imagine they're somewhat similar.

@@Vayshen The S3000's are not just about bluetooth wireless connection. As a matter of fact, I don't use that feature at all. it's about the ribbon tweeter and the DSP controlled cross-overs. The S3000 is the only monitor this size that does NOT require a subwoofer. Officially specified as going down as low as 38 Hz, it is my experience that they go a hell of a lot lower. Soundstage and imaging are sublime too. Much better than on the S200's. I mix and master on them for professional productions. You should really come and listen to them before you make a definite decision on the S2000's.

@@Vayshen The S2000mkiii's are essentially the S3000 pros not so little brother. I splurged and purchased both the see what they were about and compared/contrasted them to swans mk200s, Klipsch, some jbls and Kali's Ive owned and the Edifiers are truly phenomenal. I ended up returning the S3000pros because I didnt feel the performance to cost ratio to the S2000mkiiis was justified. Unless you really need wireless of course. As far as bass performance is concerned they are quite surprising for a 5 1/2 driver, alarmingly so much so that I ended up putting away my beloved B&W 608 sub. I honestly feel as tho adding a sub with these just does the speakers a disservice. These have some of if not the the best articulated, fast and extended low end(dipping ever so slightly into the 20's even) Ive heard for the 400$ dollar point, even compared to some other higher end passive loud speakers nearing the 1k mark. I would even consider these over a dedicated amp/dac system, in fact I just may consider selling some of my gear because of these.
Im gushing at this point but these are truly remarkable speakers, to which I was not expecting. I know people swear by a scalable/modular system, but these could be all you need, for listening and possibly monitoring. Many shun powered speakers, but Edifier is doing something incredible with these, considering they use what looks like high end quality drivers and their electronics aswell. Especially the DSP, which I feel just blows even high quality passive crossovers away. You will not regret the S2000mkiii's if you get them, needless to say

After a ton of research and watching reviews on here and Reddit, i watched your review and bit the bullet on these. I tried them in 3 different room settings (Study - on my desk, Lounge - alongside the TV on their dedicated S3000 Stands, and finally in my bedroom where I think they sound unbelievable. Once they are properly positioned and on stands and have enough room to breathe, these are arguably the best sounding speakers I've ever heard. I wholeheartedly agree with your feelings about these speakers, they truly are phenomenal and punch way above their price. The timing, depth and soundstage and not to mention the high end of those Planar tweeters are fantastic. I'm loving every minute of them.

Vandersteen and Pass Labs formed my reference system for years, alternating with a tube setup centered around Cary Audio / Dennis Had SETs. I've had open baffle speakers, omnis, 4-ways down to overachiever bookshelves like Totem Mani2. That was my 'career' and in my 'retirement' I shopped for a 'fishing boat'.
Backtrack to 2003 on a temporary job assignment to Shanghai and needed something better for the serviced apartment. I went to the local computer mall looking for a 2.1 system like Logitech or Bose computer speakers... as I walked past this mall stand, I heard an undeniable midrange neutrality that promised to sound good on any recording. The highs were smooth and extended and the bass was surprisingly deep and mud-free. A quick inspection showed a sealed subwoofer box instead of the usual ported designs in this genre. An 8in sealed sub, 4in mids and 0.75in tweeters all with amplification at 100W, 10W, 10W respectively.

Edifier was founded by audio enthusiasts from what I understand. The founders and key engineers were quite active on Chinese audiophile and DIY speaker/amplifier building forums in the early-2000s when I was trying to find out more about the company. It's nice to see that their price point still beats what a capable engineer with DIY skills can make.
These are an amazing value that can only happen because of the production volume and component pricing, that someone as large as Edifier can do, using their vertically integrated manufacturing.

It has no reason to be this good but it is. I'm even thinking of selling my Monitor Audio/Onkyo system which cost more than 10x as much. I’ve owned mine for 3 years now and use them for music and movies. Zero problems.
For that use I just put them in Dynamic. They sound much more lively and airy at the top and still have good bass.
Mine are on stands. Sitting 3.5 meters away in a 40 square meter room with vaulted ceilings they read 85db at only 60% volume so way powerful enough for most duties.
I might add an SVS 3000micro sub in the future to release them from driving to frequencies below 80Hz but that would only be icing on the cake. It’s not vital. They already sound good enough.
I’m European, but live in Asia.
In EU the price is around 600-700 Euros? Over here the price is just RIDICULOUS at 380 EUROS a pair!!!!
The only annoying thing with the MK1 is that you can’t tell what volume they are at easily when using the remote control as they don’t have a visual display showing the volume level from 1 to 50? You have to turn them down to zero using the remote, then count the blinks on the front LED as you slowly increase volume. I think the MK2 uses an app to control EQ/DSP/volume, so a big improvement in functionality over the MK1.
If they had a sub out and bass management in the app you might as well forget about KEF LS50II’s. They are 4-500% more expensive without the expensive KEF stands! Edifier might rule the world if they did the decent thing and brought out a MK3 with those added features!
If I wanted an amazing system today in 2024 for music and 2.1 movies that will blow anything out of the water worth 3000 + Euros I’d go for the S3000PRO MK2’s and also the brand new WIIM Ultra wireless DAC. It has sub out with bass management AND ROOM CORRECTION! Amazing functionality with their app and constant improvements with regular updates. All that for 350 Euros!!!! Add an SVS 1000Pro sub and you have a whole wireless system for around 1600 Euros. You just won’t find better until you start spending multiple thousands.
    Highly recommend.👍

Since the left speaker connects wirelessly via Kleernet, and Kleernet can stream up to 16/44.1, does that mean these speakers cannot produce audio in any higher quality than CD? I bought the s3000pro a few weeks ago with stands, and very happy with them!
I also have the r2000db, which sounds great for the price. In comparison, the s3000pro sounds more detailed at all frequencies, and surprisingly they sound very balanced between high, medium and low. (The R2000db have more pronounced bass,, without being more or better, and weak mediums). I usually listen to them in Dynamic, and they sound spectacularly good. Rammstein or Arctic Monkeys guitars and drums sound INCREDIBLE. Michael Jackson, Daft Punk, The Weeknd ... sound very crisp with stunning bass. Acoustics and Jazz music sound like live, if you close your eyes it seems that they are playing for you. Bad recordings will not sound very good but the same with any speaker in the world; But the ones that have to sound good sound better than you can expect.

@@shashanktripathi960 I have not compared them face to face. They are very different, the Kef's are passive (you need more equipment) and have a very modern-cool design. The Edifier are active, with a lot of inputs and cutting-edge technology, with a classic design. The s3000pro sound great just out of the box. There is a comparison on youtube of an Airpulse a200 vs Kef x300, and I liked more the sound of the Airpulse (the person who reviewed says that Airpulse sounds very on par with the s3000 pro). The KEF would be much more expensive with extra equipment.

I’m just an owner who has heard both. Not a professional reviewer. Sixes were cool but muddled in mids, and highs are way too sparkly. Klipsch sound outside of their high end lines at every unnatural sound. Edifier has nailed, absolutely nailed, the clarity and natural sound. With the kind of low end we get on Edifier S3000 Pro it’s almost the last thing for most apartments. It’s not audiophile-y enough (showoff value) but sound wise it easily outclasses gear from much more expensive and well known brands that have way too much fragmentation in their offerings. Monitor audio, dynaudio, KEF... why all those levels of gold and silver and whatnot? Stupid.

Could someone please tell me how these compare to some Behringer 2031a or 3031a with a decent DAC like an smsl su9? Are the s3000pro better than a decent monitor with a decent DAC? Any response would be appreciated. Wish I could pop around to Z's place as I know he has this gear and rates it highly! I'm really keen to know this comparison.

Speakers are great, but as I owned the S2000 MKIII model and now I upgraded to the S3000 Pro, As Z said the bass develops way further than the S2000 , so you need to consider the distance from which you are going to listen to them in order to be in the sweet spot, S2000 MKIII were perfect for my couch at a distance of 3-4.5 meters , now with the S3000 , the bass is actually developing at 5-7 meters, behind me, sadly I cant move them further away, so ... please consider your listening distance before purchasing, both models sound amazing.

I use the Focal Alpha 65s together with the Audient iD14 as my Studio Monitor Setup. This is the best setup for the money I think. I also have worked with Dynaudio, Adams, Genelecs and other brands. Now I wanted have some good Loudspeakers for my living room. Since I m used to quiet neutral sound I was thinking about using Studio Monitors with SMSL DO100 DAC for TV and Bluetooth connection. But Studio monitors have a pretty small sweet spot. So I was going away from that idea. Then I looked into Nubert, Klipsch the Fives, Elac and so on until I found these. I think this is the best speaker for the money with that kind of connectivity and all in one solution. It sounds really amazing and even reviews and nothing negative to say. For other brands there where always problems or work arounds which I didnt want. I couldn't be happier with a speaker for Music listening and TV watching.
