High Performance SQ System in a Mazda 6

- This audio system went in to a Mazda 6 with the goal of high performance while maintaining clarity. Starting with the OEM radio, A Helix DSP.3 feeds signal to a Zapco Z150.4 and 2 Z400.2s. A Hertz Mille Legend 3 way component set in the front stage and 2 Hybrid Audio Technologies Clarus C12SWD4s in an infinite baffle.
Dan Ungaro designed and built this system at Elite Auto Salon in Colorado Springs, CO.

Do you have some Helix Dsp tuning vids? I have some but as an audiophile we always want best result possible so need to learn some more... or perhaps an idea for a video?! 👌

I hope you take into account that airbags are behind that panel that you're playing around with the pillar speakers..Hope the driver doesn't get a face full of speaker

Great work! Question- was the baffle mounted using stock holes, or were holes made
I use threaded nutserts to mount the baffle.

How do these Zapco z 400.2 ap do on subs I figure they are over a thousand watts but are they just pretty good or do they blow you away? I’m looking between these or linear power for subs.
Can I ask what's that music playing at the intro?
Bro you're great fabricator but who swaps out focal utopia mids and probably tweets for crappy hertz WOW and they would have sounded better in the dash and just doing an on axis tweeter build. Very clean and beautifully fabbed but I wouldn't even let a client swap the utopias for the hertz if that's what happend 😭
Why do speakers aim into the dash?
We're always balancing acoustics and cosmetics. We could make the speakers present on axis, but the pillars get much bigger. I consult with my clients on their priorities in this. Usually the tune can reasonably correct for most of these compromises.
@@SoundscapeCarAudio1 Yeah, it is very hard or sometimes impossible to have onaxis speakers that fit the interior.... Anyway nice job
I personally prefer the speakers off axis as it makes it sound more natural and not directed to your face with pin point accuracy
Does the Mazda 6 OEM radio come with pre-outs?
Ofc not
For an SQ will i be happy with my JL T5.( shalow mount)
