Depending on plant size and space, you probably need someone's help, so one person can uphold the leaves and the other person should dig around the pups, just enough to make some space to hold it from base, then move it left and right and pull out gently, you don't need all roots just a little stump with leaves would be enough, leave the pups in indirect sun for a week or so to develop a callus, and then plant it back in soil, agaves easily produces new roots.
Thank you! I wasn't sure what to do with the pups with a real long stem. No one else explains this thank you!
Thanks so much ❤😊
Love this agave
How do you remove pups from a plant that is in the ground?

how often do you water this plant? full sun? part sun?
Hello - What’s the reasoning behind leaving the pups out to dry for a week?
When the pups were broken from the mother plant, the wound needs to be calloused over so it won’t rot when planted.
👍
