Now this was a BIG hive. Over 5 foot long and 16 inches wide. It had 3 full layers of comb, and at least 30,000 bees. We had 3 guys with the name of Steve working on this job as well as Wreck it Ralph, and myself. It went as smooth as silk, and on top of that, Rocket Scientist Steve spotted the queen. It was a really good day. Thanks for watching. God's peace to all. Mr. Ed - Krátké a kreslené filmy
If that was a wasp nest I would have left the country.
You would have been looking at my backside because I would have been in front of you running too. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
zfa Have you ever been stung by either a Bee, Wasp or Hornet? When I was 14 yrs old me and a friend were walking along a Scottish river near Edinburgh and my mate being in front (he knew where we were going) accidently kicked over a Hornets nest that had somehow got onto the path. They were really pissed! We ran like hell. He got the brunt of the stings as he was first in line both coming and going. I think he got 70 or so stings. I got away with a mere 43 stings. I do not recommend the experience! BEE careful where you put your feet out there in the woods!
Jeff Horchoff I never thought of removing a wall hive like that, and using it to great a bee box hive. Is this a standard practice, when folks have a hive in their wall?
About 14 years ago my mother in-law had an infestation of what was refered to as 'carpenter bees'. I had never heard of those, until then. Are they diffrent than honey bees?
Is there a simple way of telling between them?
I'm pretty sure I have a hive in one of my walls. During the summer, you can hear a buzzing bee sound in that room. And it sounds like it's coming from an outside corner wall. If it is honey bees. Do they do a lot of damage? As I know honey bees are important contributor to the human food supply. And I'm surrounded by farm lands. If they're honey bees. I don't want to disturb them, unless it is necessary.
I'm *extremely* allergic to all types of stings. So I won't get close to anything that buzzes.
I was aghast to see some weren't covered up. Then the guy with his fingers all bandaged at the end. Made me shiver.
zfa wasps nests are holes in ground
mattyy101 They can also be somewhere high.
It is nice to see the effort taken to relocate such a healthy colony.
I love bees and saving them from being destroyed. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
Jeff Horchoff I have a mild phobia of stinging insects, but appreciate the importance of bees and also add my thanks for protecting this important piece of our ecology.
JohnyComeLately Same here.
bees usually aren't that aggressive and do so much for the environment. i'm content at just getting out of a bee's way. red wasp? i'm killing those with 0 remorse.
Yes, bees are one of the main important things for food production - as without them we would have only a few months worth of food to feed humanity on Earth! Many main foods would disappear within months of there being no bees to pollenate plants. Say goodbye to apples, coffee, corn, avocado and others. My main concern was that the way they vacuumed the bees up that the ulk of them would die...
it always warms my heart seeing bees getting relocated instead of killed off, especially when the hive was thriving so well in its previous location, thank you
I really love wrangling bees and sharing the experience of it to help raise awareness of the need to save bees from being killed. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my be wrangling adventures on my channel and let me know what you think of them. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Did anyone else feel like something was crawling on them, too?
That is a very common condition, trypophobia, I'm sorry you suffered watching. God's peace.

That would bee a great idea. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed

That's a good one, do you have to say that in bee speak? Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed

Not everyone is meant to be a bee keeper, but still you can appreciate the importance of bees and the role they play in our very survival as pollinators. Plus, they make honey. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 6 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace.

Definitely will be! I didn't expect to be so fascinated by bees. I came here just looking to find out how a Queen bee is made and have found a whole little world in these amazing insects. Very cool!
Bear man
did anyone else wish they would have done a time lapse of them vacuuming the bees up? or was it just me
The only reason I didn't do a time lapse is because the camera got moved so many times. It still went alright I thought because viewers did get to see the entire removal. This was a really fun one because we had so much help, and the job went so smoothly. Thanks for watching, and I hope you check out more of my channel and let me know what you think. God's peace. Mr. Ed
Jaden West I'm here with the new yt update where u can watch the video it x2 speed
Jaden West i wish
Glad that you saved the bees, but if I opened up my wall and found that I think I'd have a panic attack and die or something.
That reaction is pretty much what every homeowner experiences when I show them the bees that are in their house. After they pick their mouths off the floor in disbelief, and steady themselves from the shaking fit, their first words are," I don't believe this"
But after about 4 hours and all the bees and comb are gone, all is back to normal. These bees are doing fantastic in their new home, and next spring we will get honey from them as well as split the hive. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

The bees you deal with are always so calm compared to the ones I kept with my grandfather. They would sting anyone within 1000 feet of the hives. I got stung so many times I can't even remember even when the hive was hundreds of feet away. They got annoyed so easily. It totally killed my desire to ever keep bees myself.
I know I am fortunate to have gentle bees, they do make the experience so much nicer when the bees are not aggressive. These are very extraordinary insects. I'm very amazed by the way they make their comb and honey, mind boggling.
Yes they are! The main reason I keep bees is because I marvel at their ingenuity. Impressive! My skin was crawling looking at those bees, don't know how you do it! I had some questions Mr Ed. I'm so curious...
1. How on earth do you located the queen amongst all those bees?
2. Is this a special vacuum? Where do the bees go? Don't they get mad being disturbed?
3. Why aren't you getting stung?
4. When you cut into the honeycomb, do you risk hurting baby bees in there?
5. If you take all the honey, how can their babies eat? Queen eat?
It would be so nice to get some answers to these questions that bug me.
1. Steve found her on this one, he beat me to it. Usually, I see something different and that's how I find her.
2. Yes it is a vac just for bees, low pressure. I will be making a video on it in about 2 weeks after things slow down with the swarms. You are going to have to check that one out. The bees go into a bee box, and yes, they don't like it.
3. I get stung all the time. On this job i was stung at least 4 times, but it won't stop me from doing what I love doing.
4. We trim the comb around the brood as we save all the brood to give back to the bees.
5. We give almost all the honey back to the bees. They need it to survive at this time of the year, so it all goes back. Later, in the summer and fall, I take some and give some to them.
Hope that helps. Thanks for watching, and asking good questions. God's peace. Mr. Ed
Jeff, thank you so much for taking the time to craft a reply. My curiosity could not be contained. I love the idea of making my own honey, have to look into that. Also joining a bee club as you mentioned in another post. Never thought that existed!!
One thing I will mention here... On the D-day beaches of Normandy, France, in the little town of Bayeux, famous for its wool embroidered 'tapestry' and lace-making, was the best honey I have ever tasted. In a small open market, I bought a small jar of honey made locally. Tasted it back in USA, and oh boy! The perfume just lingered on the tongue. It was the flowers out there, you could taste them in the honey. I have to go back again now, 20 yrs later and see why it was so good. Normandy also makes dairy, cheese, cream, butter that is fantastic. The Wisconsin state of France.

Mr. Ed
Jane and I will be checking out your videos over the next few days. I hope that you agree with the replies that I have left on other comments on this video. It seems as if so many people have irrational fears when it comes to bees. We have a lavender bush just outside our front door and in the summer, the postman leaves our letters next door when it is in flower. One of my favorite memories was the day that one of our friends had collected a swarm and was driving it home in a cardboard box on the back seat of his car. Due to all the road humps, he was driving so slowly that the police pulled him over and wanted to check out what was in the box on his back seat. Another funny story from a few years ago, was the guy who moved into central London from his country house and decided to keep a hive on the tiny balcony of his flat in a tower block. The hive was less than 3 feet from his neighbors window. The council evacuated the entire building and story ended up on national television news LOL.
Wow, what great stories you have. Because I delivered mail for 27 years, your story about the mailman touched home. I am sorry, but I have not read your reply to others comments. I have so many comments to respond to, I only look and answer the ones directed to the video. I will bee looking for your name now. God's peace.

Mr. Ed
You know I love watching people catch bees instead of killing them. We have a lot of flowers that bloom down here and a lot of people who think the only good thing is to kill them or be scared. I've learned through the years Bees are VERY gentle unlike wasps if you leave them alone. The only time I've ever seen a Bee attack people is because they attack it. And on another note: Beautiful Queen! I hope the Beekeeper gets a good harvest this year :D it looks like he might need to buy a new housing soon for them.
I am the bee keeper, and the bees that I remove from structures are all saved from being destroyed. After the removal they are placed in a bee hive and that hive is then placed at the abbey where it will survive unmolested......that is until it's time to harvest honey. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
crazydoodler True If you leave them alone wont sting but if you try collecting their honey they will attack you
crazydoodler me too! Honey bees are so cute 💙💙💙
crazydoodler I was on a pool just standing there and all of a sudden a bee out of no where stings my neck. I don't know about you, but I didn't consider that gentle.

What I find really facinating is that you frame up the hives that you save and then put it in the bee box. I think that is so much less stressful for the swarm. We purchased a cabin in the Bull Mountains after our other cabin burned down in the 2012 Bull Mountain Fire. We were getting ready to have it re-roofed when we found a huge hive in the rafters close to one corner of the roof. We called Bee Rescue, every apiairy, every bee hobbyist and called places in other states and no one would come to get them. Finally, roofing day was arriving so we had to eradicate them. I cried like a baby when my husband had to spray them. I wish you would have been in Montana because I would have had you here so quick to save them. My husband and I felt just awful about it.
You should derive great comfort in the fact you put forth great effort to save the bees. Sometimes, it is just not possible. Thank you so much for taking the time to follow my bee wrangling adventures, and I look forward to hearing from you again. Don't forget, I post a new video every Friday. God's peace Pamela.
Mr. Ed
its incredible to see how the bees dont attack them almost like they welcome them to relocate them and allow them to take their beehive away and allow them to suck them up with the vacuum without causing anyone any discomfort by stinging them wow thats amazing. the guy isn't even wearing a bee protection thing on his face. they must like him.
It is through the years of experience I have gained knowledge on the handling of bees. I would not recommend others to follow my example unless they, like me, have been trained. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

That receptacle is not installed to code either ;)
insulation isn't just for keeping heat in. It keeps cold air in and hot air out in the summer. It's also a noise barrier. so regardless if it's a warmer area or not you should have it

Omegapede Prime part of the issue is you cannot make beehives from pressure treated wood which has pesticides which have the side effect of killing your bees. this makes them far more vulnerable to the elements especially in the southern states where humidity and high temperatures are the norm from April to October.

Yes it was, and these bees are doing great in our bee yard. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
i allways wanted to nom on one of these honey cluster things... i wonder how it will taste
You can buy comb honey, and if you have never tasted it you should. Often, in farmers markets, you will find a local bee keeper selling the product of their hives, and sometimes they sell comb honey. Let me know how you like it. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
I have never really wanted to "chew on a comb"... until I started watching videos like yours! Thanks for the videos.
Andari Voom I have only had it once as a child and i got to say that it was remarkable. Like nothing i have ever had, and the comb was nice and soft with the perfect amount of crunch. No wonder bears go threw all the hassle of eating it. If you are planning on eating some honey or comb. I recomend buying it from an open market that way you know its fresh and not processed.
It's super yummy, the comb itself is wax though! It's like biting into a honey covered candle.
Andari Voom waxy. like eating a sweet candle.
if obama was white..
He's a second cousin of mine. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
haha sorry for your burdon...
sorry but had 2 say it. at the start i thought it was for a sec haha. glad you got rid of those bees. were they moved or given to a beekeeper?
Saltine American he looks more like that b class actor. usually does sci fi films.
Saltine American ron pearlman
Saltine American 🙄
My Uncle handled the bee situation the best imo.
He took the bees living in his walls, and simply used them to start a life of bee keeping. He's had bees for 20 years now and it all started with bees living in the attic.
Some of the best honey i've tasted due to the wild buckwheat that grows near him. This is the way to handle this, sell the bees to a bee keeper who will give them a good life.
Your Uncle sounds like a man after my own heart, as that is exactly how I started keeping bees. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 6 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come. Mr. Ed
I really admire your respect for these fascinating creatures, and also that you take the time to respond to so many comments on your videos! Much respect to you ^_^

I love saving bees and helping folks who have bee problems out. Everybody wins on a deal like that. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr.
you should have took out the wall and then put up piece of plexiglass were your wall was and watched them build there nest
When I first saw these bees in the wall, that is the thought I had. Just imagine how cool that would bee when you have friends over and you show them your bee wall. Thanks for watching, , and I hope you check out more of my bee adventures on my channel and let me know what you think. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
That would be awesome!
I had that same exact thought!
@@JeffHorchoff my nature center in Minnesota has a wall like that you can watch the honey bees come and go it was always awesome to watch as a kid.
I loved that friendly "Hello" at the start 😂👌
It's the way I start every one of my 270 videos, thanks for watching this one. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Jeff Horchoff Oh, Hello. I just wanted to say your videos are incredibly amazing. What you are doing is extraordinary. You are a kind man doing this for people. God bless you.
You are the gutsiest man on the planet. Nice job!
I hope they didn't hurt the Bees unlike roaches they are useful. I love fresh honey on pancakes!
Plus they are becoming endangered.
The bees were safly relocated to the abbey where they will no longer have to contend with the possibility of being destroyed. I hate roaches too, and the grow really large here in Louisiana. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
when did obama get into beekeeping and age 15 years??

Wow thats a LOT of beez + look at all of that SWEET SWEET honey
This was a lot of bees, well over 30,000 of them, but all the honey was given back to the bees because they needed it to survive on. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
great job as always guys. thank you for the upload sir.
What a treat, to work together with Wreck it Ralph, and Rocket Scientist Steve, to remove a huge bee hive, catch the queen, and no one seriously hurt. That's a good day. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
In Fort Lauderdale, one of the oldest buildings is an early 1900's hotel. It was two story, yada, yada.
Well, once it was no longer doing business as a hotel, it became a historical site which catered to educating the local youth, being renamed the Discovery Center. In the dedicated science room, they had discovered a hive which looks just like the one in this video. Since it was on the exterior wall nearest the river where no one would go, they didn't remove it. On the inside they put up a permanent clear plexiglass viewing window. It was such a treat for children & adults alike to be able to safely watch the bees in action without any chance of harm. Apparently, on the exterior, they installed an access panel as sometimes they would actually have jars of honey with comb as well as jars of filtered honey for sale in the gift shop.
I don't know if the hotel still has the hive in it. The Discovery Center upgraded to a huge, modern facility, being renamed The Museum for Discovery & Science, years ago, & it contains no hive. I had taken my children to the new facility many times in their youth & was so disappointed that they couldn't have that same experience. Seeing the living bees, busy, energetic, buzzing, industrious, as well as the craftsmanship of their combs with one's eyes, rather than just on a screen is awe-inspiring. And as you say, the sound. There is nothing quite like hearing that sound & realizing THAT is coming from their wings & so LOUD.
I consider myself very fortunate to see sights similar to this one very often, not always to the extent of size, but beautiful to behold. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 6 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come. Congratulations Katie on your marriage!! And holy cow! Those bees.. so glad you saved them (:
As Mr.Ed would say, Gods peace!
I'll pass on the congratulations, they love it when I tell them people wish them well. I've been saving bees for over 6 years now and I love every time I have the opportunity to swing into action. Thanks so much for following along, thanks for your blessing, and here's one right back to you, God's peace always.

Beautiful masterpiece 👌
Cheers from Mexico.
The comb was magnificent, a real work of art. Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment Jon. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
what are those triggering screams at the beginning
It's about a hundred or so chickens, and a few goats thrown in there also. The owners had a bit of a farm going on, not to mention a bunch of bees in their wall. Thanks for watching, and I hope you check out more of my bee adventures on my channel and let me know what you think of them. God's peace.

Wow! Great Video Sir.
Glad you liked it, I hope you continue to watch and comment. God's peace. Mr. Ed
And this is why a little bit of caulk around your house in the open crevices is vitally important... Not only does it keep out the rain and the cold... But it keeps out the bees and the bugs...
Very good advice, I wish more folks would adhere to it. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. Wow, zero prep to keep the floors and surrounding areas clean and damage free.

Holy cow that's insane!! I couldn't do it....I wouldn't even stand near that nest with one of those suits on. I've chased tornadoes and I think you guys have more guts than I do Lol.
OK, so you've seen this hive and you thought it was large, well, if you have the time, check out these other bee hives I have removed this year. After you watch them, let me know if it's safer to chase tornadoes. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed

Gee whiz those hives are still crazy. I think that with experience it's safer to remove the bee hives rather than tornado chasing, but I would still be afraid of all those bees flying around (I have family members who are allergic so I might develop it at some point as well).
Honey bees are awesome wasps are the bad ones
butterflies pollinate.
but at least can bees and all other insects very similar to the just not have existed with stingers. like seriously, they devastated millions of innocent people who shouldn't have died in such a way. plus even trees don't need bees. wind, rain, kids who move the seeds around. just climb a tree and some seeds get stuck on your shoes then when you going into your house you throw them into the yard.
Good job you saved the bees lots of bees are dying now thanks to much of humanity but it’s nice to see people like you still care 😊
Saving bees from being needlessly destroyed is what I'm passionate about. I've been doing this for over 6 years now, and have rescued over 40 colonies of bees. Thanks for watching, and I hope you continue to watch and comment on my bee wrangling adventures. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Great job lad. I'm really happy how you carefully relocated them, instead of killing them for no reason.
So glad you enjoyed the video. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. @@JeffHorchoff Peace man. I would personally thank you for saving bees, if I could. I have been trying to convince people around me that honey bees are not dangerous and essential to all life on Earth. It pains me to see how some people simply set them on fire with lighters and WD40s, or kill them with pesticides. You're doing gods work.
Bees are so amazing. Such a great video
I have been captivated by these creatures for more than 20 years now, and I never tire about learning about them. I certainly hope you will watch more of my bee wrangling adventures on my channel and post comments on them to let me know what you think. I am looking forward to hearing from you again. God's peace.

And second, check out more videos on my channel, they are all about bees. If you area as passionate about bees as I think you are, you are going to bee a GREAT bee keeper. Keep me posted on your progress, and comment on the videos you watch. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
