  • I'm showing you how to sew a ballet wrap top! Simple, feminine, it'll look lovely on women of all ages and it's such a basic that it won't go out of style.
    How difficult is it?
    The beginners who tested my pattern found it doable for unexperienced sewists like themselves.
    The pattern has gone through a phase of testing for optimisation, in various sizes and on different body shapes. So grateful to the girls who tested, thank you!

    This is gorgeous. Was it tested on any mid size bodies? Wonder how it would look on a fuller bust or overall larger size. The listing only shows very similar frames.

    Maybe you said it and I skipped that part, but what is the seam allowance? It looks like you're doing about 1/3inch? Can't wait to try it, my fabric is cut out and ready to sew!

      Sorry for the late reply! It's mostly 1 cm, otherwise it's indicated on the pattern 😘

    Great work! Leaving the pins while you were sewing low-key triggered me😭 the needle could break, be careful! Sinon magnifique travail j’ai adoré 🥰 bravo

    Thanks for the tutorial. In my case, I just made a toile in a size 40 (I have a bigger bust) and there's lots of gaping extra fabric at the front neckline. How would I raise the neckline so the V is less deep while making the fit tighter to my body? I appreciate your help ✨

    • @isainstitches
      @isainstitches  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hi Lyndsey! I'm sorry this didn't turn out perfect! To raise the neckline, you could redraw the edge that goes from neck to tie, but with this design I find that the problem is that the two sides then cross over over the breasts instead of between the breasts (it's not ugly though). Another option could be to really narrow the neck width, in this case, the V will be actually as deep, but narrow therefore less exposed. A combo of the two is possible.
      To prevent as much gaping as possible, the fabric matters:it's best to take one that's very stretchy, more than the on I recommend. Also, darts could be added.
      Hope this helps! ^^

    5:00 to 5:14 has my head spinning as a newbie. If the top was a straight stitch like you said, what is going on at this part? What do we do ?

    • @isainstitches
      @isainstitches  Před rokem

      Hi! The thing to pay attention to here it to do securing stitches before cutting off the seam allowance, regardless of the type of stitch. Do you think it's what you were confused about?

    can you serge instead of the zig zag seam?

    • @isainstitches
      @isainstitches  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes absolutely, I show the tutorial with a regular sewing machine for people who don't have a serger, but yes many steps can be undertaken with a serger

    How would I go about making the top longer?

    • @isainstitches
      @isainstitches  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi! I'd add a part below the tie (without making the tie thicker though)

    Where can I get sewing stabilizing tape?

    • @isainstitches
      @isainstitches  Před 3 lety +1

      Any haberdashery! You can buy it already made www.vlieseline.com/Products/Tapes/Stretchfix. Or buy stretchy interfacing by the meter (so wide like fabric) and cut strips of it
