Awesome. I grew up learning similar skills when it comes to situational awareness and identifying landmarks to help navigate... I've found these same skills helpful when traveling around foreign countries and cities.

Went for a walk up a island creek on the weekend found around 6-8 empty mudshells around this hole, ended up putting a hook up there walked out with a 3kg crab

Yes! I use it the same way with building land marks. It does work great and just comes natural now.
