    Hello George thanks for taking your time to make this video. My friend took his 2019 Hyundai Ionic to Aamco because of no reverse. They changed the clutch put it together and are now adding an additional 3k because the actuator calibration is not correct so they have to replace with a new actuator. Does that seem right?

      Yes I did, but before you do that, you want to remove the actuator and command each gear from diagnostic machine, and then manually move all gears inside the gearbox and identify were the fault is. You can also look in live data and see how much current is drawing when actuating

    Do you know whether it’s normal for the rpm’s to jump/flare when there’s a gear change on a dct? I’ve been noticing a 250-500 rpm flare when the car changes gear…not sure if it’s the cold weather…if I’m in manual shift mode and shift between 2500-2800rpm it doesn’t flare at all, it’s just a normal shift….I also released the brake and let the car roll and I haven’t noticed any judder or vibration. Even if I was at a higher or lower rpm in auto or manual it would shift smooth as long as I wasn’t stepping on gas too much…maybe my driving habits are confusing the TCU

    I have a ‘17 Kia Forte5 SX 7-Speed DCT. I get the occasional knock/creak from under the engine (area) whenever I accelerate or brake at low speeds (under 20mph). I especially notice it when parking and moving forward and backwards.
    I had a transmission slip issue because one of the local Kia dealers sold me the wrong transmission oil (ATF type 4). I have them my VIN. Another dealer found the mistake when they saw the oil in my backseat… by then I had already drain and filled and was actually at the new dealership because of slip issues. i have a 2018 i30 crdi dct, and the clutch was slipping and smoking, hyundai replaced it at 40k miles under warranty. please note that i drive absolutely calm and it was not my fault. 6 months after that i failed inspection because if a massive gearbox oil leak, they punctured some kind of seal ring while replacing the clutch. they had to take out the transmission a second time. since then i drove about 7k miles and the clutch is now starting to slip again a little bit, sometimes the rpm jumps a bit when shifting up. after driving for about 40 miles highway in gear 7, no shifts, the next red light it will rub and chatter and the rpm will jump in gear 2 and 3. also when driving very slow the car chatters until he clutch disengages, then it is silent. also i have a vibration at 2500 rpm, but not always, like if a heat shield rattles or something like that.. the car still has waranty, i will phone hyundai today and get an extended waranty or something, i dont know. the car is fine 95% of the time, but i think i am going to selll it.

      Are you towing caravans? Are you holding the car on a slight incline or stationary without fully pressing the brake pedal? If you only hold the brake pedal slightly when stationary, there will be not enough pressure within abs unit internal pressure sensor to tell tcm that you are stationary and tcm will belive that you are trying to creep forward or reverse.and will cause clutch to slipping after prolonged usage like this.

The connectiion beween engine and gearbox is made through a big teeth plate (let's call it a flywheel) and does not need replacing unless it rattles at idle or has obvious signs of wear.

      if it will loose drive completly it will only happen if it can't change gear (faulty actuator) or excessive slipping (overheating) other than that, it will drive in one gear usually 3rd. I never had one yet with other situation for no drive at all due to dct. But time will tell.

    • @GicaPhp
      @GicaPhp  Před 5 měsíci +1

      It does not have a dual mass fly wheel. It is a solid flywheel assy that connects the engine to gearbox, the teeth are round and big, and they get worn out, causing a chattering noise. Replacing just the flywheel will not eliminate the noise completely. Once you have the transmission out, you will see the flywheel and pack assembly and asses the wear.

    Hey there George which Hyundai DCT is this car from? I have issues with my Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid, dealership made diagnose however didnt want to show me scanner, they only said I got codes P17EB & P1744 which means faulty Clutch Module and Actuator, VIN KMHC85LC7JU107139. They claim i need to buy new Clutch Module, New Actuator and other parts related, however very expensive and labour too, the car was working properly until it jerked, it turned off and was towed to the dealership, it didn't turn on, it had an issue with Inverter fuse, already done but the prpblem with actuator and clutch remains.

    • @GicaPhp
      @GicaPhp  Před 28 dny

      Based on your fault codes your clutch actuator or release bearing that engages combustion engine to gearbox has failed. Most likely you might find your clutch fluid black and leaking between gearbox and engine. It will required gearbox assy to come out for investigation and when out check length of dct clutch actuator rods as well so you can evaluate the wear on your dct clutch

    • @Chiquilindlp
      @Chiquilindlp Před 28 dny

      @@GicaPhp you're correct 100%, I just dismantled engine low cover and there's remains of recent oil between division of transmission, however I couldn't say if actuator fluid or transmission oil, everytime I drive the HEV Warning hazard light appears and gears starts to jerk so badly, actuator deposit empties during this time and there's a crank sound within engine, I believe too there's faulty with whole DCT Module, however I cannot say if actuator is bad, too. What are your experiences on this? Thank you.

    • @GicaPhp
      @GicaPhp  Před 28 dny +1

      @Chiquilindlp you might only need the slave cylinder of the clutch actuator if no damage had occurred. All that is happening is that the engine speed is not matching hev motor speed. Hence, the noise and jerking.

    Çözüm bulmak sizin için neden zor? Aksi takdirde tamirde engeller ortaya çıkacak ve tamirden ya da yedek parça tasarımından doğacak kayıpları kimse kabul etmeyecektir.

      There was a clunking noise coming from the bell housing, but the transmission was working normally, then the garage took the transmission off of the engine, they think it needs a clutch and flywheel, they put it back together without changing the clutch and flywheel and now the car wont go forward or backwards and it wont to the shifting learn with the scan tool.

    You do not register according to what you take the amount of income of the clutch, how do you know that the income is correct so that the promises will come in?
    Secondly, you don't take a picture of where you take the measurement of the height actuator pistons
