- John Shanks, multi grammy award winning producer, and guitarist stopped by #NormansRareGuitars. This will be a 2 part video, in Part 1 John and Mark talk about guitars, and the music industry. In part 2, John was surprised when Chris Isaak walked in during his video, and they reminisced about when John produced some Chris Isaak records. This is a fun video, hope you all enjoy it!
Norm holding a 1961 Epiphone Texan. John Shanks is holding a Rosewood 1942 Gibson SJ/J-45, obviously a custom order because it is rosewood, body has SJ binding, but neck is just dot inlay. Mark Angesi with a 1943 Gibson Banner J-45 All Mahogany, and the other one is a 1961 Epiphone Frontier.

I'm fan of Chris since 1980's. I got all of the albums. When I'm alone in the house and try to find peace, I'm listening one of the Chris albums and it brings me a peaceful mood. I hope he will do lots of new albums and be healty and handsome for long years.
The Chris Isaak show was killer
I seen Chris at a show at Pine Knob in Michigan, They were playing on the ticket with Bonnie Rait. A memorable show for the my lifetime. I still remember this show over 30 years later , whenever I see Bonnie or Chris doing a appearance somewhere, it just automatically comes back to me , All I can say is thanks for this memory.

MET Chris on a boat to Catalina Island, I think he was playing for a funeral..I was playing a club in Avalon..Chris is a super nice human and so was his manager...
This is such a great CZcams channel. There’s really nothing like it for people who love guitars and guitar music makers. Shanks and Chris Issack just by accident. So cool

What a great get together. Stories are great! I remember reading back in '90 or so Chris had a place by The Great Highway and would surf every morning, like 7:00! Also love the mention of a Magnatone. Only had an Esty era 1- 12 amp in the '70s but i miss it every day.

Hey guys norm Mr sanks man I love Chris Isaak I remember the first time I heard Chris Isaas music I loved it so much I went on vacation to guralahara mexico I remember hanging out at the bar in the lobby of y hotel room even night and I had the dj . playing my Chris Isaak CD.every night the crowd in the lobby lied the music as well
