I have been watching your videos and they are excellent! We are planning a trip to Spain. We arrive in Barcelona, and then will go to Valencia, Granada, Ronda, Cordoba and then Madrid. We will spend 3 weeks total. We are thinking about renting a car when we leave Barcelona and then returning it at the Madrid airport. Any thoughts on this. I know the city-centers are not conducive to cars, so we would basically park the car in the cities and then use it to get from city to city. Hoping you can help as we leave in 10 days. Hi Maria, if you are going to use a car to visit cities, you'll be throwing away your money. You'll have to pay for a car park, won't use while you are in the cities and will still pay for the rental. We only see a reason to rent a car when a) it's a big group b) you are planning road trips off the main cities.

Hi! I've been planning my trip to Spain largely around your videos but have been trying to find tickets that run late. I land in Madrid at 21:25 which is 9:25 pm, I failed to realize that the times listed on RENFE are in military time and had been reading it wrong. I don't believe that there are high speed trains that run that late? Please let me know if I am wrong! I really hope I am because if not it seems best I fly.

Is arriving at the Atocha station in Madrid with a confirmed ticket an hour before your departure to Barcelona is good enough? Or is it better to arrive even earlier than that? 🤔
One hour should be fine. Right now, the station only allows entrance to the waiting area for those with a train departing within the next 90 minutes. There are very few seats in the waiting area.

Hi Natalia, if you land in Madrid at 21:25 you won't be able to catch any train to Barcelona that evening.
