  • In this video, I explored the concept of emergence as it relates to systems theory, highlighting how the behavior of a system arises from the interactions of its individual parts. I delved into three types of emergent properties - Oscillations, Punctuated equilibrium, and Power laws. I explained Oscillations as the over and under reactions to feedback due to delays, leading to inefficient results. Punctuated equilibrium, I discussed, is the process of a system moving from equilibrium to growth and back, often experienced during goal progression. Lastly, I touched on Power laws, explaining how small actions or changes can lead to massive outcomes due to the interconnected nature of systems. The video emphasized the importance of understanding these concepts to better navigate and take advantage of our reality.
