- Spec Ops: The Line full game movie - gameplay and cutscenes from Yager's 2012 game edited together for a cinematic experience.
Editor's note: This is probably one of the best stories in a video game I've ever experienced. It's definitely not your typical action game/shooter fare. Kudos to Yager for daring to do something different with this one.
To view in 60 fps make sure to view the video using the Chrome browser and to select "720p60" or "1080p60" in the video quality settings.

"I assure you, I'm as sane as you are."
That's not very reassuring.
That's the irony
i just noticed this... [SPOILERS]
At the end of the game, when Konrad says "It takes a strong man to deny what's right in front of him" you see Walker's lips moving. fucking excellent detail
That's amazing, good eye!
Yo, I did see it!!!
Perfect story showing the horrors of war, and with perfect editing so there's no prolonged gameplay? Perfect videogame movie.
Marco Medina thank you i needed this review.
WTF if my commander starts talking to himself and to a broken walkie talkie, I would refuse to follow him immediately. I think Lugo and Adams were just as nuts.
That's the thing, there's some hints that Lugo and Adams were also slowly going mental. We just never got their side of the picture.
There's a theory that they never even existed. Lugo represented Walker's morals while Adams represented his authoritarian duties. There's a lot of question to what's real and what's a hallucination so it's a possibility.
A lot of people also speculate that Lugo and Adams just kept following orders because they could fall back to saying that their captain ordered it and they followed when they had to report back giving them an out for all the shit that had happened.
both Lugo And Adams' names are on the Memorial Board list of casualties. The very scene where Walker picks up the broken radio. So yes, both guys probably exist in Walker's mind and it explains a ton.
Well it's not like they have any other choice. Everyone else is trying to kill them and there's no way back.
"You let him go. Why ?"
"I'm not about to shoot a US soldier, Lugo."
lol
no we about to shoot many
"It takes a Strong Man to deny what's in front of him."
~Legendary~
"It takes a strong man to accept what's right in front of him." Here fixed.
Fuck, Nolan North is a fucking magician with his voice. He's the absolute best.
Artūrs Šilaks wow thats something good to know, I got obsessed with this games and the theories
A tip: watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Curtis Nash definitely, I have been watching on Flixzone for since november myself =)
@Curtis Nash Yea, I have been watching on flixzone for months myself =)
The amount of times I've heard Nolan say "Oh shit!" In a multitude of ways...
You know what i noticed? The 33rd's appearance throughout the game drastically changed. The first time you encounter them, they look pretty disorganized and unequipped. Their ACUs are dirty and a mess, some are not even wearing body armor, and most of them don't even wore helmets. They look more like scavengers and not soldiers.
But as you progress through the game, you can see that the 33rd soldiers were slowly start to organize themselves. Most noticably in chapter 14. Every soldier you fought in that chapter were all wearing Helmets. Not a single soldier was wearing no headgear or a hat. Their ACUs looked clean and feels like they were pretty equipped.
The 33rd now look like your average US soldiers.
Spent nearly 10 years in the military. That lynching scene? Can't honestly say I know a soldier who wouldn't have shot those civilians themselves. In many ways this one was much more poignant than the airport massacre from Call of Duty. And that white phosphorus scene. Whoa!
Ex marine infantry here, would've dropped them like a bad habit
Keep in mind, you didn't actually have to
Firing in the air scares them away
Raistlin Chesko he’s saying they would’ve killed the people who hung lugo even with the choice
Do you feel like a hero yet?
Man war is fucked, No morals nor immoral.
And I liked it.
"A local airborne has infiltrated as my pants sir" ha best line
My favorite detail in this game is when you play the last level with Adams. If you accidentally shoot him, he’ll get angry and say stuff like “Don’t you fucking tempt me!” And if you take too long to heal him, he’ll call you out and say “You’re gonna leave me now too?”
Just want you to know that I like the way you play the game and how you purposefully focus the camera on things that matter, or just move at a slower pace to show off the atmosphere (like the first shot of Dubai). Other walkthrough videos of this game sometimes look like they're being played by a headless chicken.
definitely an underrated gem. I purchased this binary domain and vanquish all at the same time and I have to say the story was awesome. I would like to see a sequel or something of the sort.
+ScoobyDigites There's a time where good games like this should not need have a sequel.
+Frag Wall You all do realize that "Spec Ops" is not a new IP right?
TOALEWA466 I know that. But I respect The Line game as a masterpiece.
Ok. I totally agree this game is fantastic, but under-appreciated because it was marketed like crap. I wish they had just bucked the Spec Ops moniker and just called it "The Line."
+TOALEWA466 I thought the problem was it's marketing was too good, it masqueraded itself as just another military shooter and it succeeded so nobody bought it lol
I wouldn't be able to do it. There's a point during this story where I couldn't stay on the same side as Walker. I would have rather died. Die a hero or live as a villain takes on a whole new meaning here.
If you stopped playing that means you did the correct choice.
That...that white phosphorus man. No one could have been prepared for that... That is what war is. No good guys or bad guys. Only the dead and the damned (no pun intended).
Civil War by Guns & Roses begins playing
Not a pun - if anything, unintended alliteration. But it's true. There are those that that are there, and those that are left.
Each year I like to come back and play/watch this game from start to finish, I just think it deserves it!
Comes only for pc or ps3 ???
Notice how ADAMS is an exact copy of Griggs from MW1
Black dude wielding an LMG with an explosive expertise.
I think it's deliberate. The game deliberately uses other tropes as a disguise this is just another one.
Nothing wrong with having another griggs though
2:06:13 - This moment was just , painful to watch , that is fucked up. That moment was heavy
Wow, what a road, amazing game, if only more modern games take care of story telling like this
"Rescue mission, take no prisoners comrads"
Probably the biggest twist in gaming history
The original Knights of the Old Republic had a bigger twist in my opinion, but this one is definitely up there and is probably 1st as far as “most traumatic twist”
Original ff7 twist that cloud suffered ptsd and took over the persona of his friend Zach was and still is the best in gaming…. This is definitely #2, and #1 as far as modern gaming is concerned.
This is the only game that made me wonder if the whole thing was just a hallucination
That was their intention. The writers of the story seem to have crafted it specifically for multiple interpretations.
Really love what you're doing here mate, keep up the good work!
23:46 23:47
Lugo: I cant see shit
Walker: Good lead the way
WTF that dont make any sense
Line is missing. Lugo obviously says "I can see the way inside"
let me get this straight.... so did he kill anyone? or did he imagine he killed everyone
Garen he killed everyone and he painted an illusion where he was a hero.
I had forgotten how much the music played a part in this and how well the
sound design/editing was done. One of the better showcases for VA too.
EDIT: also shoutout to Bjork's "Storm." I didn't remember that actually being in the game in some form, but i remember those trailers....
The thing is, the scene resulting from the white phosphorus mortaring most likely could've been avoided if they hadn't fired that last shot.
Remember the line before you start firing off?
"Might not have a choice, Lugo"
"There's always a choice."
"No, there's really not."
You could think it was the squad arguing in game but it's equally viable the game was addressing the player directly.
@@janermaher theres always an option
Stop Playing the Game
@@shadw347 Not if you wanna beat the game it's not.
@@janermaher yeah but everyone knows that "none of this would happened if you'd just stopped"
what an interesting storyline, And a perfect vid! keep up the good work!!11!
After so many years and I finally find out that John Konrad is voiced by Bruce Boxleitner aka "Tron"
I love it in games when you learn something new every time you watch or play them. For example, I just now found out that at 2:07:22 , a civilian uses the famous "You brought this on yourself." line, but this time, it's directed at Walker instead of the other way around.
“How’d you survive all this”. “Who said I did”.
that probably is a reference to all soldiers who sadly are affected by the war. with ptsd and violent actions. destroying the sanity of the man. becoming what he sworn to DESTROY
@Valkkan oh, really?.
@@lautarogomez9711 it's one of the theories
@@zannchristo "Ohhh......
Honestly they really didn't justify why Adams and Lugo stuck around after Walker started talking into a broken radio and was clearly insane. It also makes no sense for them to have been figments of Walker's imagination the whole time either. I like this game but there are some parts which seem too strange to justify.
temmychan i think because they can't go back and comunicate the command this
Plus they're not around when Walker is talking with Konrad. If you look closely, the only times where Walker talks to the radio and Lugo and Adams are around, Konrad doesn't respond.
Heaven forbid we have a game that's mildly ambiguous and odd for once.
2:18 most bad ass scene in gameing history
THROWIN' A STICKY
I've played this game before,my favorite, your the best player I've seen on CZcams thanks for no voice over
great gameplay! glad I found this, everyone else with the full game movie sucks at the game
this game is underrated & i enjoyed the story
49:59 i had a dream like that before. getting shot at by a helicopter as more scary than it looks when its happening to you.
My favorite game of all time!
1:58:41 Find it odd that Adams and Lugo are gone except Walker. I'm aware of a few theories for this.
I’m willing to chalk that one up to a technical glitch. It’s not like this game is the best looking game ever. I’m sure stuff was left out in production.
They're actually dead since this scene already. Walker on the other hand, he's already in Hell since After The Prologue, and we were playing Walker's own hell to Start Over again. Until we decided to kill Walker
50:00 wait, Spec Ops used that one before Mad Max: Fury Road??? What???
Great minds think alike.
That having been said, what's the name of that song?

Great game
If the 33rd came into contact with the evacuation force what do u guys think they'd do
Pretty much the story of the Iraq war, except we haven't gotten to the end of that one. We still haven't decided to just stop...
Goddamn
Plot seems like a rebranding of the heart of darkness/apocalypse now works.
It essentially is. It was inspired by the book.
Mark whatever 1747471819? That was your previous account wasn't it? Man just quit
I wonder if you can shoot the soldiers on the final, when it says "drop your weapon" you can choose there or only drop it? It would be nice see if you can shoot them and what happens next. Excellent editing!!!
hi yes you can
And what happens?
czcams.com/video/ppmTAO2xYqw/video.html
little previsible...thanks!!
If you manage to kill the ENTIRE patrol, there will be another ending.
first one i have found where the audio isnt fudged for content id
its a good game
On en fait plus des jeux comme ça avec une bonne histoire ,merci très bonne vidéo
Nice movie I have this game
Wait why couldnt just hack into the transmitter at the storm wall to contact Command to send in the evac team. Also the evacuation force could've dealt with the 33rd
Because Walker tried to become a hero instead of following his orders just as Konrad has said. Walker was following his heroic impression of Konrad that saved him back in kabul and believed he was gonna do the same thing for the people of Dubai but you know he completely destroyed it instead. What is Ironic about this is that Konrad was as vulnerable as any human being and was suffering emotionally and mentally with his failure in afghanistan and pressure in Dubai - completely the opposite of What Walker imagined him to be. In his own way Walker did follow Konrads footstep right down to being guilt ridden and inevitable suicide
@@NinjapowerMS also why didnt one of the delta operators just throw his Delta Forces insignia from his uniform at the 33rd soldiers to prove that they were Delta force in the first place
@@simonroh4958 Did you even played the game? There was a huge mix up in the beginning of the game where Delta force initially cooperated with the CIA without knowing their intentions, the group who sparked the rebellion against the 33rd and ultimately aim to kill everyone in Dubai.
33rd believed you were part of the CIA at the beginning of the game and to an extent in the story so they were preventing you from killing everyone by disabling the only source of water. Somewhere in the story they realized the fact and 33rd was just defending themselves near the end of the game but delta force was unhinged psychopaths at that point, it's the reason 33rd asked you to surrender in the near the game instead of outright shooting you.
Best. Game. Ever.
this game make me question what is war good for. t only brings chaos. sorrow. pain. horrors. and turns good people into bad and terribles and it corrput them
Nice movie
Wow.
Mistakes were made.
They should have left Dubai at the beginning of chapter 5.
They should have radio command the moment Alpha Patrol was under attack.
There will be no point, if you truly wanted a happy ending you shouldn't continued playing...but you didn't cause you wanted the be something you aren't....a hero.
@@roblereck I think the entire bloodbath would have been avoided if Walker, instead of being a jerk toward Mc Pherson (Alpha Patrol's sole survivor), lowered his gun and introduced himself properly.
Spirz I won’t say that Walker is a saint by any means, but let’s not pretend McPherson was any better in that situation. The first thing he says to them if he survives is “look, I don’t know their names.” And Walker before that introduces himself by last name and as a Captain. He also served with the 33rd in Kabul under Konrad, so why McPherson decided not to say anything is beyond me considering that Delta indirectly saved him and spared, no less
How is the storm wall still blowing for months wtf?
Global warming loooollll
But seriously, it’s all hypothetical, this would never happen
Bit dumb on Conrad's character, WP's thermite like effect, also Walker's character, and completely disappeared UAE itself's mans, but terror is well described.
weeeeee
"That's enough, Lugo."
the helicopter part was my favorite
58:47 Raiden, is that you? How u ended up here? Looks like Liu Kang messed with the timeline!!
Which ending does this feature?
the Booty Hole ending

Of course!
Here's the best ending :

@@spirz4557 Gentleman, welcome to Dubai.
this game need to be free-roam
If MW(2019) story would be at least half like spec ops's, then it could be called grey morale
Game: "You pulled the trigger. You are holding the gun."
You: "You gave me the gun. You ordered me to pull the trigger."
Don't hate the player, hate the game. If the game, or your commanding officer, or your country, or whoever asks you to do something and tells you it's the right thing to do, the only thing to do, and then gets mad at you for doing it, there is a problem.

Subtitles is NOT a Cinematic Experience. I have never seen any subtitles in ANY Movie i have ever seen. My last flick was the new star wars, wow what an awesome fucking movie, If I had to read subs the whole movie that would totally fucking ruin it. Its like 90% of all Gaming video channels are too fucking lazy to turn subs off and use the excuse that an OVERWHELMING amount of Deaf people watch their videos (yea right) so sad
For a start, I have seen subtitles in films like Captain America, Transformers etc. A lot of people watch anime so there are subtitles for that, and all films have the option of subtitles and they decide to put these subtitles on as it may be hard to hear what they're saying. So you may hate it, but most people don't mind it, either watch what's available or go play it.
