I attended this concert, but I was unable to see much of it because my eyes were constantly full of tears. Two years later in 1967 I met Nina in Amsterdam. From that meeting a close friendship emerged that lasted until her death in 2003. The last words she spoke to me before she died were: Don't leave me Gerrit. To this day I miss her and her genius!
OMG 😱 that’s amazing ‼️‼️‼️‼️I can’t believe you met the high priestess of SOUL☮️☮️❤️❤️
Wat een prachtige herinneringen zult u hebben!
i watch Nina in Rio de Janeiro marvelous
it's true, i was the piano.
She puts a spell on her audience. She was such a outstanding artist. Huge respect .
Nina Simone and Roberta Flack are two of the greatest concertists every, glad they came our way🥰
Her performance of i put a spell on you was just perfect you can tell that she was a real artist we miss the jazz that Nina played
What a unique talent Nina was. She often looked like she would rather be somewhere else when she was playing or that she was enduring the intrusion of the audience but her voice and playing revealed a passion and intensity that was off the scale. Genius is an overused word but not in her case .
She was such a brave and talented goddess... to sing these lyrics during this time...sharing our peoples horror stories all over the world. What and activist.
Rest in power and peace 🙏
Nina Simone

Grande Nina...grande voce....grande pianista ❤❤💯💯💯💯
This is just fantastic! She’s in her prime here ❤
She is tellin' a story, in words, but mostly in sounds. A true story, sad sometimes, joeyfull otheretimes, but sincere and open. That story touches your soul... Very few artists can do that!
I Love Nina
Nina was just endlessly captivating. I love how she always performed with utter conviction.
She still continues to captivate everyone here! 55:55
She felt the music she was singing, emotionally and viscerally. That’s why you can feel it.
OMG what a genius she is
A voice of wisdom and power.

On "Be My Husband" was the first time when i heard my speakers at maxx volume. The vibe and swing of this song is insane !
what a Diamond, thank you for this so much. ... Simone-( forever alive her music!) sang the truth with power, compassion, grit. Seems like such a deep strength radiates from her whether or not it was a conscious offering to her Loves and Inspirations ...Still waters run deep
So beautiful. I'm in tears! Always been one of my favorite pianists. You could place a tea cup on top of her hand and it wouldn't fall. Perfect hands!
True ❤❤❤
Wonderful video. I had the pleasure of seeing Nina Simone at the Fillmore East in New York twice circa 1970. I always thought that her live performances were much better than her recordings from that era. I forgot what a wonderful pianist she was. Thanks for posting this!
Omg 😱 I’m so jealous ( unfortunately I was 9 in 1970 so I came late to the party ( but I’ve been listening to miss Nina for over 25 yrs 🤷♀️☮️❤️

Si..
Bravo bravo bravo bravo !
@@othallto say races don’t exist is against Nina’s whole philosophy, we should not ignore race, because then we will be ignoring race inequality.
And I always thought she only sung
She began her musical training as a classical pianist at age 6. She only started singing when she started performing in a club as a teen when the owner demanded it.
Oh god no !!! She was actually know as pianist before a singer … she was sooo talented ‼️‼️incredible
I didn't know either. These older artists were so incredibly talented; full of soul and hope for the future💜🕊️💜RIP Nina♥️Many thanks 🙏
😢
👍♥️🌸♥️🐸
Is the opening piece by Miles Davis?
Yes, "Milestones" by Miles Davis. She used it as a intro to her shows all the time.
@seashell_seasons27 Thanks i forgot the name
@20:34 ❤
Hiiii
She scares the xxxx out of me, totally hypnotised whilst watching her preying I don't break her spell. It's like watching a wild force of nature in full effect. Nina Simone.
Pity she cut Zungo short.
