Basically it's irdai's way of having discretionary power over recruitment. They should seperate the phase 2 subjects stream wise and give the seat to whoever is proficient in respective posts. It's a pathetic system imo

I think the reason they are doing this is because they hired a lot of dickhead general stream students with zero idea of law to fill the positions. Any lawyer worth his salt would advice them not to make such deliberately misleading advertisements as it grants them large exposure to class action law suits.
Sir actuarial/CA specialised degree hone ka kya hi faayda when there is no seperate cut off , isse acha irdai saare seats generalist bol deta instead of giving such misleading advertisement
Yes, you are correct but minimum understanding of QRE and GA is must in all jobs.
But applying same cut off as generalist is not justified sir unless they tell in advance ki all streams will treated as generalists, nabard sebi etc mein toh specialist stream have their own cutoff

THEN WHATS THE POINT FOR APPLYING SPECIALIST POST AS THE GENERALIST CUTOFF WILL BE HIGHEST AND THAT WILL EVENTUALLY BECOME THE CUTOFF IN EVERY STAGE INCLUDING FINAL CUTOFF
Sir if we apply from 2 stream then also we have to give exam only once right ? And that means if we clear cut off then selected for both stream or else not for either stream.
Sir, it's clearly written on page 6 of the notification, that there may be seperate cutoffs for different streams. Point 10.1 and 10.2.2 on Page 6!
Yes brother but last year they applied single cut off for all streams
They have written May be applied, last year also this provision was there in the notification but they haven't followed it. Thats why they have safely written as may be.

Does it mean that specialist posts are also available for the candidates who don't have respective background. If it does so, then how candidates with BA or MA background will apply when options will ask (like mba, law,etc) in the application form?

Sir Suppose - I applied for law discipline and cleared phase 1 general cutoff and there are only 3 candidates from law field to clear phase 1. will I get the priority in those law vacancy or a generalist candidate with more marks will be preferred. @TargetRBI
Sir would it be feasible to fill from IT background apart from generalist, if I have no sufficient knowledge for IT since it's been around 6 years I've been working in bank. Bcoz in the interview if I'm not able to answer questions related to IT, would it create a negative impact on my chances of clearing the generalist post as well? Kindly guide.

yes...this is crt sir...but last year we filled just 1 form IT + general.....this time why 2 seperate forms??? if all stream cut off is same and all......the y to fill 2 form...?//why to waste 1000 rs??

Actually they didn't even following the reservations rule forget about specialist rule...

Sir, What is the advantage of applying from 2 streams if cut off will be based on generalist cut off ? if i can't clear generalist cut off then i wont clear specialist cut off
If I am a Computer Engineer then I can apply to two posts, I have to clear the cutoff then my chances will become double because in the interview they will test my knowledge from two angle, Generalist and IT.

How'll they post someone to work for law who does not has an LLB (mind you its a professional qualification, you need a license to practise). Same is the case with Actuarial, you cannot profess CA without an ICAI License. Bold of them to assume they will have unlimited discretion just because they are an "Autonomous Body". They are hunting for legal proceedings against them at this stage.
Yes, they are wasting candidates fee and valuable time which otherwise could be properly used for other exam like RBI nabard at this crucial time. I feel some legal remedy should be done against this unfair practice , further susheel sir who represent aspirant community should be raising voice against such practice instead of simply communicating the fact to the aspirants .

No specialist job is done by generalist
Generalist will be filled in generalist, if specialist don't pass the exam.
That's it.
Prepare happily ,pass and do job.

An indicative requirement of specialists should not vanish overnight. Or are you telling me while the organisation remains severely overstaffed in certain areas, others are being filled just because it's the recruitment board's discretion to do so.
Sorry doesn't sound like a reasonable exercise of discretion to me. Also does not sound like an ethical practise.
