  • The first set of pens for 2024. I am 100% in love with using this little Hobonichi Techo with ink too. I wanted to dedicate my first color scheme to something that I feel is really important at the begining of the year, and that is "self care." As always, I love to hear your thoughts in comments ❤️️
    Let me know which one you liked the best! Also the pen holder is from Galen Leather (link below).

      I am left-handed as well, and I use my fountain pens almost every day. For lefties it’s just a matter of a good fast drying ink . Give it a try you will definitely enjoy it. I actually have about 16 fountain pens. I often use Rhodia paper for general writing, and the 68 gsm loose leaf paper from Jet Pens, for my own planner, (yep, I created my own). For me, this is an excellent paper for writing with fountain pens!

    I love these videos so, so much! I think I would call this color scheme “Someday under the rainbow” because it feels like looking forward, dreaming of spring.
    How would you say Cashmere Rose compares to other pinks in your collection? Is it more similar to Brunch Date or Australis Rose?

    • @mydandeliondiaries
      @mydandeliondiaries  Před 6 měsíci

      I love this!! Such a good naming 🥰
      As for the Cashmere Rose compared to other pink inks I have, I'd say brunch date is much more brown/orange leaning, and australis rose is close, but a little more "pink." I feel like cashmere rose has a redness to it or even a deeper pink color. I don't think I have anything exact to it honestly.

    7:30 What I've found helps a ton with my shimmer inks in my Jinhao 82s (I have alot😂about 8 or 9) is to tilt the pen (closed) back and forth so that the shimmer is evenly distributed in the converter. I always get a consistent shimmer that way.

    • @mydandeliondiaries

    I am loving the colors you chose. I am definitely getting the Cashmere Rose when it comes out. Stinks about the shading of Ambered Adobe. It is such a pretty shading ink normally. That Benu pen 😍. I am putting that on my wish list. It is gorgeous!!! The yellow I am using this month is Robert Oster Honey Bee and I am really liking that ink. I am normally not a yellow ink fan cuz it's usually hard to read, but this one is so legible.

  • @wanderingpear
    @wanderingpear Před 6 měsíci

    Most of my broad Benu Euphorias put down enough ink to see shading. Ive also tried using multiple brass shims (or the plastic ones that come with the Pilot Parallel) to widen the space between the tines. Try it on a cheap dry writing pen.
    Sailor Pro Gear Zoom shows shading but it’s a very wide line. But it’s pricey. (FYI-The Pro Gear SLIM Zoom nib is not as wet according to Yoseka video on Sailor nibs).
    Your videos are great! Really enjoy your selections!

    I'm looking to start working with fountain pens but have been worried about how the ink dries on the Hobonichi paper. I'm using a Weeks Mega for the first time and based on your swatches it looks like there isn't much bleeding/ghosting - very impressive! And omg I absolutey love that Natural Green color. So gorgeous!

    • @mydandeliondiaries
      @mydandeliondiaries  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Ink and fountain pens can be a little tricky as they all can behave differently on the same paper 😅 BUT the tomoe river paper always handles fountain pen ink like a champ. I have only ever experienced bleed through with really heavy handed swatches, or if the paper was already wet from something else, never had bleed through with writing.
      I will say the new Sanzen TRP seems to dry faster though so not much room for blending.

      @@mydandeliondiaries Thank you so much for replying! I really appreciate your advice. Personally I'm not looking to use the ink for blending purposes, so I think I'm going to look into purchasing a couple of inks from Sanze. I'll definitely follow up and let you know how it goes!

    Also, do you have recommendations for Birmingham Pen Co inks? I really like that polar bear ink, but also the galactic one. If you could only get one of their inks to try first, which would it be? I noticed that they do samples differently than other places and I don't really understand how it works.

    • @mydandeliondiaries
      @mydandeliondiaries  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I'm still learning a lot about the BPC inks. They don't have samples from what I have found, but they do have a line of inks called "Atomink" which can be mixed together to make a bunch of the inks they currently sell. If I could only try one, I would pick a color I really like writing with (for me green, purple, or brown). You can also sign up for their emails and get some ink "bundles" when they have sales :)

    Ok! Now I really want that TWISBI Eco. I already have two but I love them. Is another too much? Also, both of mine are fine nib and I'm wondering if I should try extra fine? I am a lefty so I find that the fine him works better for me because it has less feedback.
    I really like that Jane Eyre ink as well and I'm thinking about getting that as well Robert Oster polar vortex. Did you already review that one?

    • @mydandeliondiaries
      @mydandeliondiaries  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I must admit I have a small collection of TWISBI ECOs haha. I don't think having another would be too much. I've seen collectors have 20+ TWISBIs in a whole rainbow of colors. As for RO Polar Vortex I haven't shown a swatch on my channel yet but it is one of my favorites. It has beautiful shading and is a mix of blue, grey, and purple.

    • @Stitchxavi

    • @mydandeliondiaries
      @mydandeliondiaries  Před 6 měsíci

      Yes! As @stichxavi said, the shimmer will be in smaller lines due to the finer nibs. I find that the Dominant Industry shimmers are really mild compared to the FWP or Diamine shimmers. I haven't had a clogged pen yet :)

    Do you use your A6 exclusively for ink swatches? I bought an A6 Techo for the first time and I’m not sure if it’s what I need. Previously I’ve been an A5 bullet journaler. I’ve been using the dailies for a bullet journal but that it. It seems to be wasteful.
