CPR 2816 "The Empress" South into History. *KC to Amsterdam,MO*

- over the weekend from the 18th to Tuesday the 21st, 2816, The Empress, would steam south into History on it's way to Mexico on the Final Spike tour.
on Saturday the 18th the empress triumphantly steamed into union station Kansas City for it's display with the first ever CPKC Gevo. the crowds were huge and loved the event despite the near 90 temperature. that night it'd snake through the west-bottoms to give a whistle salute to the KC Current who had won their game in the CPKC Stadium before it'd pass us and enter Knoche yard.
On the 21t, my brother and i would split up to maximize the amount of times we'd see the 2816. Starting at the steel viaduct and concrete bridge over Gregory Blvd, we'd chase it south as far as Amsterdam,MO for what would turn out to be it's first scheduled service stop. as it'd head south, we'd call it a day to watch it roll south into History.

I like the Dome car on that train if I am not mistaken that’s a southern Pacific 3/4 dome car built for Southern Pacific lower than a conventional full dome car for low tunnel clearances and these were commonly found on the dieselized daylight passenger trains very cool I wonder how many more of them survived the scrappers torch
you are correct on it being a former SP 3/4 dome. was secretly hoping we'd be able to find a way to get on board just to tour that car but alas it wasn't meant to be as it's a favorite of ours.
as for how many are saved, i wouldn't know off top of my head, im just glad one is still around riding the rails

I saw you wreck your drone. Thought the footage from it might be salvageable.
it had a multitude of problems so i didn't use the footage. to start the camera on it was stuck pointing to the right and then it had a fly away which led to the crash.
I may put the footage in a "what you didn't see" compilation but as for "Foam force one" it'll be replaced eventually.
