I love the green vegetation and various colors of the homes.. What's the weather like in this area?
Rosemarie, yes more green than other places, but it is in a valley so it can get cold in the morning.

Moka is in my distant memories. Used to lime up by my good friend at the estate at the end of the golf course. My Carmel estate.

The area looks clean and very lush with vegetation. I used to go to Trinity College in the late 70's. I lived in La Seiva and would catch the taxi on Saddle Road. The taxi would drop us somewhere down the road and we would walk up to the college. On the left hand side of the road just before you reach the large field (which used to be our football pitches) there weren't any houses as seen nowadays. That whole road along the golf course used to be the remnants of an old cocoa plantation. We were always diving in there looking for some nice cocoa. That was one of the benefits of going to Trinity! 😂 I wonder if any of the new property owners kept some of the trees on their plot? It's a pity to bulldoze those nice trees that bear such a lovely fruit.

@@JBsManCave Good morning! We haven't seen these areas for a very long time! The vegetation is luscious and there are actual paved roads. I am also speaking about Maracas Royal road, Santa Cruz, Lopinot and St Ann's/Cascade, not forgetting Haleland Park/Moka. I guess the videos were well done.
@@JBsManCave I am a lil disappointed though with Haleland Pk/ Moka, I was expecting castles and tree lined streets, because Trinis seems to be a lil proud to be living that areas. 🤷🤣😂🙏🙏

Found myself driving through these roads recently trying to figure out what color to repaint my house. Neutral colors are my style as well. I detest bright colors. Btw if you want to see some huge modern houses head over to valsayn north. IMO the houses there are even better than those in Goodwood park. As for a castle house, if you drive through Boy Cato Road Las Lomas. Someone literally built a castle. Lol.

Yup i went to trinity. Use to have to walk to "village" sometime when road flooded out and couldn't get school bus. oh the good ole days......Would collect the stray golf balls.

I went to Trinity East; but there was one certain school bus that came from Trinity Moka that used to pick a few of us TCE boys up on the bus route in its way to Arima
Chester, what time did you all have to leave Arima to get to Trinity College? Plus did they pass through Santa Cruz or through Maraval?
I live Maloney. I had to leave home at 6: 30am to get to school and I boarded the bus in Trincity so I wouldn't know if it went through Santa Cruz or Maraval, sorry

I only go on roads that are public and when barred I turn around. By vacation spots you are referring to hotels, guest homes or resorts? In the immediate area there is only the golf course as a highlight and of course going over the mountain will take you to Maracas, etc. However, I do not recall any places to stay being near to Haleland Park. The closest is probably the Royal Palm Hotel.

As a global traveller I've seen some exquisite homes..meticulously designed and maintained neighborhoods over the years! Throughout the Caribbean the building codes and zoning laws are not rigorously enforce even in our most exclusive housing developments! As seen in this video it's confusing to the reason why there's such attention and care to some residences while smack in the middle are numerous eye sores! If one's is desirous of purchasing a property in one of these exclusive neighborhoods there's a service fee payable every month as I've seen in many of the advertising! Who exactly collect these fees and to what services are those funds ascribed! Certainly not the maintenance of the roads as the roads shown in this video is just as deplorable as those in low income neighborhoods..Many upper income communities abroad are inclusive of playground, swim and community clubs and relaxation parks with benches, tables etc! Nothing of the sort seem in this video! Do these folks even know their neighbors?

I think you are referring to me talking about houses prices? If so, TT dollars but believe it or not there are houses in Trinidad where they do ask for millions in US dollars!
If Moka is so private, how do the students get to Trinity College?
Might be a good question but unfortunately without a timeline I am not sure what this question is in reference to.

The road to the college is still public but beyond that has some restrictions for residents only.
As you deduced crime broke out in 2000. Know how to halt crime? GORTT take my tax money and build middle-class housing for the masses, cheaper version of Haleland.
