Very cool 😎 I didn't think I was going to like it at first but it turned out to be really good zay posted pictures on Facebook yesterday I was hoping to see that house
What a neat explore. Don't think I have ever seen something like this before. First time foreverything right? What a interesting old building. I can only imagine how many papers came out of there. Truly mind-boggling. Best decay is natural. You guys stay safe out there and hugs to Opie.
That newspaper was definitely there for a long time. Unfortunately it looks like they never spent any money on upgrading the building. Those bathrooms were definitely old school still.
When the newspaper building closed down in 2018, just 2 years before the Covid breakout, probably hundreds of employees had to be let go, losing their jobs and livelihood. Maybe, some were re-assigned to other subsidiary companies, if they were lucky. But I believe mostly oldsters might had no choice but to look for other jobs, although it would be hard to find due to their old age. Times were already bad back then even before Covid, but once Covid came a knocking everything became a nightmare. The building must be doing well since it was established way back in the early 19th hundred, probably by some wealthy family. But good times never last. With better equipped printing newspaper companies competing for the market using high and the latest technology, old companies no doubt failed to compete and had to be closed down. Sad, but as always the fittest usually survived. Thanks Riddim Ryder.
That place is cool. I always picture the people in these places and imagined the hustle getting those newspapers out. When you mentioned the boss yelling at people I immediately heard “Parker!!” (Spider-Man)run through my head. My husband watches too many movies, I guess it’s rubbing off on me.
My husband has been in printing papers for over 40 years. I was hoping to see the actual pressroom...ha ha. I assume it was a community press, which would have taken up a HUGE area. So must have been in the basement. I recognized the press plates, and the camera. The place my husband worked for the majority of years, closed about 6 years ago, they sold the building and scraped the presses. Sad when newspapers are being crushed out by internet news. He currently works as a press operator in another town. For how long is beyond me!
The concrete floored area was next to the plateroom area where you guessed correctly, where they would make the plates for the press. The press itself sat on the concrete floor as presses are tanks. The basement shaft was probably where the giant paper rolls were that came up to the feed area of the press. Most likely they sold the press right away. I know all this because I worked as a press operator in the 1990's. Great find!
Cool explore, far from the usual abandoned mansions. With the right investor to remodel, and repair this could be an awesome home.. Lots of room( minus all the pipes, and shoots!)
Hey my hometown. My dad still lives there. I won't post the town but I know the location. Supposed to go visit soon. That building is very old. There is still a newspaper in town but I don't know where the office is. The building was always the always newspaper office as long as I lived there
@@RiddimRyder I talked to my dad and he said the building is still being used but it was vandalized and the windows were broken. He said the newspaper is printed out of town now but the building is not abandoned

Wow that place decayed fast
Yes! Flat roof will do that!!!

That is Kirkland Lake, just north of North Bay
I know! I was there! Lol
I knew it was Kirkland Lake as soon as I saw the thumbnail of the building lol. I am originally from there.

You can tell how old this place is! Instead of circuit breakers it has fuses!
Not saying my age; I had an Art Teacher who taught the entire process for News Paper and Magazine Layout & Printing.
Thank you Terry for sharing this video with us ❤️I really enjoyed it too 😁
