Car tires squealing when the cars are going straight is nearly as great as car tires squealing on sand.

I used to make fun of tires squeeling on sand but the crazy thing is I actually heard it when my buddy was tearing around in a Jeep Cherokee one day at an ORV park. Blew my fucking mind.

Either of you guys old enough to have ever driven on Bias-ply tires? They'd squeal sitting still.
Depending on the brand and the over-all construction, anything over 15mph would cause a bias to shreek. They are great straight-line tires but are not constructed for cornering. Hence, we evolved into radial construction.

I think preserving them is okay but I like the old days when a 10 year old impala was worth no more than $200. In 1979 l bought a 1970 chevy caprice for $300 with 85000 miles. I drove it for 5 years.

The paint job looks worse than the $89.99 low end job that you would gotten at Earl Scheib's back then.
