This series was pretty good. I hope we get another season with more monsters. Wish they did more with the implied link the kid had with Gamera though. Buddy half (if not most) anime was made to appeal to kids and teens, no different from American cartoons being made for kids and teens for the longest time until cartoons (and anime) started branching out to adults. Gamera's franchise was made FOR kids in the 60s, that has nothing to do with anime when kids have ALWAYS been the main characters in his franchise, even the more mature gamera trilogy had teens as it's protagonist.
Please don't act you have stories that have kids being mature for their ages, the iron giant was an American animated movie, E.T was a live action movie, both had kids as the main focus and both were mature, gamera rebirth or gamera the brave are in the same boat. Especially when you compare them to how cheesy his 60s flicks were
