Just got this set for 25 euros. It's my first set after a 13 year hiatus of being "too old for lego star wars" and I am absolutely pleased with it. My mother made me sell all my Lego at one point, so we're really starting from scratch here, and I think it's just the right size and price point for a cute little impulse buy that can stay on its own or have the potential to grow into a larger collection in the future.
Biggest downside for me was the stickers. I've heard people complain about them in reviews, but remembered actually liking them as a kid, but no, y'all are right, it's way too stressful.
It is actually accurate to have the astromech droid not come as a character because in lore the droid was built into the early models of the ship, which is what Obi-wan had.

The only thing that bugs me about this set is the front of the Starfighter isn't pointy and the gaps in-between the wings and the body, but other than that it's perfect imo
While the gaps is a reasonable nitpick, none of the LEGO Jedi star-fighters have a pointy front. Bar the UCS variant.

@@_____A660 The only piece I know that LEGO has that could have been used to get the pointy front you want would be that triangular shaped piece that first came out for Minecraft. But given its design, it can only sit on top of something as opposed to properly plugging onto the bottom of something, so it wouldn’t have worked the best with the narrow design of a Jedi star-fighter, especially at this size.
@@jaydonmagan4694 the nexo knight shield piece would also work well. Just move it 2 plates forward and put a 2x2 white plate in the gap. Yes it'd just hang off but it would look a bit more accurate.
I'm glad to have this set available. Considering how long it has been since we have had one and the price of the older one. Now if lego can get the logistical issues fixed so it's available for more than 15 minutes and in stores it will be basically perfect! Now for a comparison video!

To solve the wing gap issue, place numerous cheese slopes in the gap. Works great for Anakin's starfighter. Only problem is they won't stay in since there's no connection, but for display that doesn't matter.
Plate, Modified 1 x 2 with Door Rail (Dark Red) even more better result.

Glad we got an Episode II ship again! I'd really love to see a remake of the Bounty Hunter Pursuit set which hasn't ever been remade since its 2002 original release.
I also wish for Jango's Slave I and Duel on Geonosis even though I own the 2013 set
I love the fact that you can recreate the scene where Obi-wan contacts the Jedi council in the rain that hood piece is excellent
To be honest, I really like the 2022 Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter, mostly because of the Taun Wee minifigure. I don't own the 2017 Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter with the hyperdrive, so this should be the set to get in August. I like it!
Yeah same here. I wasn’t back into lego in 2017. So I missed the cool star-fighter with the ring. I’m glad to have this set from Attack of the Clones.
I think this is a great set for the price point. Looks accurate enough for a play set with a great selection of minfigs. The Obi-Wan print from torso to legs is very nice. Thanks for showing it off for us Ryan!

As of now I really like the 2017 one more because it matches the 2018 anakin’s starfighter more closely

I stumbled upon this set at Target today and bought it mainly because I wanted the Obi-Wan minifigure. I wish I'd gotten the Anakin version in 2018, but I wasn't as into Lego sets at the time. Oh well, I'm sure Lego will re-release something with Anakin.
well in 2020 you could get Anakin in two sets ( Duel on Mustafar and Anakin's jedi interceptor )

The hood piece looks great when paired with this Obi-Wan figure! My issue with the new hood piece is that it always felt too big and bulky, it felt like a helmet was being worn underneath and it never felt right to me.
I think the lego hoodies should be soft and built In a cape
@@Koitto1 That’s a good idea if you want to display it. But if you want to actually play with the figure, then the hood would keep falling off.

I hate that I ever let dozens of sets dozen of dozens of sets fall apart and are now in massive bins, like 4 big bins, they are semi separated, hoping to keep slowly rebuilding sets.

What do you think of The Office set?
I was on team minifig for this anyway, and it turned out exactly as I would have hoped. Meshes well with other minifigures this way. I think the mini doll would have been really weird and incongruous with a Lego Star Wars set.
The fact that LEGO decided to increase the price of an unreleased set is baffling. But hey, Only the best is good enough, am I right?
Other than that, it’s an easy day 1 buy

The 20 dollar set is 25 adjusted for inflation, plus the extra mini figure with a new mold would bump it up.

With dollar being now worth more than euro we are being overcharged in Europe. Awful on part of LEGO. Also they've been charging 35 Euro for pre-orders before the price adjustments while our local Irish retailer is charging 30 Euro. As for the set I love it. I am so glad LEGO finally got their stuff together and are able to colour match leg and torso printing.
I wonder if this set was solidified and done being designed before the idea for back printed R2D2 came about in the two sets from spring wave. Thus we have no back printing here, but we might on all other astromechs moving forward
What i like about you is that you see the problems of the sets, but also the good things about them, and thats something i really like
Definitely a great Improvement on the original build from 2002. Nice to see they still leave a space for the astronomic with this version. Makes it a lot easier to convert over to the Mark II Delta 7 EtherSprite from the Clone Wars. I might actually get two of it just for that.
This price increase is gonna have me missing out on so many sets, it's saddening. Would love this, Episode II was my favourite. I hope when Lego finally starts integrating recycled bricks the prices drop
2018 Anakin Starfighter have one of the best prices of any star wars set

Finally they removed the headset from one of the faces, recently all the anakin and obi wan’s startfighters have had that headset on both which makes it less useable in other situations.
It would’ve been better if then put this and Jango’s slave 1 in a set with a kamino landing pad $140
These minifigures are incredible. I don’t collect sets or minifigures, but I really want that Obi-Wan.

6:40 the reason is that those grey and white cilynder pieces don't have a vertical hole for the tecnhic rod to go through

This is my only must get set of the summer wave for Star Wars this year. I have the Anakin one and can't wait to put them right next to each other on display.

So happy to finally have this set! Love the Jedi starfighters and $30 seems pretty alright to me tbh.
Strange how box art shows R4 with a different print
On Anikins ship he gets the same Landing gear piece and for that I like to keep the Landing gear ship to ground contact piece folded up one notch(the tile piece that hits the ground) for a more rounded and fitting look
For the Kaminom (can’t spell it) they should’ve used the extended brick piece they used for the tall woman in Lego Harry Potter from the 2019 clock tower set

i just bought the set today, i love that lego is making more prequel sets. i do hope they also make more jedi starfighters though.
i really like the set itself, my biggest flaw is the gap between the body and the wings, but that dosnt make it a bad set though
Tbh in my opinion the price difference is justified. To my knowledge, 75333 has 3 exclusive figures whereas Anakin’s starfighter only has 1. Plus, inflation (sadly) exists so we must deal with it. And there is a 25 piece difference, so lego more like probably values it like +$5.00 for 2 new exclusive figures, +$2.50 for inflation, and +$2.50 for piece difference.
2.50 dollars for 25 pieces is a bit of scam considering the anakins Jedi starfighter had big wing pieces and cockpit pieces to make up for the difference

I've found this set mildly frustrating due to the large gaps on either side of the wings, at first I thought i made a mistake in the instructions but man they really don't fit very well.

The set is easily fixed to a ten with a few white plates attached to the bottom to hide the gaps.
If you have a friend that collects crystals you should ask for some or buy some small ones cheap, they make great decorations for sets like this. Like they are protecting kyber crystals etc

I must say this review being early is a surprise to be sure but a welcomed one!
The problem won't go away for a few years until inflation settles down I know from my business of buying plastic for materials its going up 24% in August.

Although I also don't like $30 price tag, given that it's about 4 years later and has +1 minifigure, $30 seems about reasonable imo.
On another note, the point made at 6:40 about the thrusters is kind of invalid as you physcially cannot put an axel through those pieces.

In canon, female kaminoans like Taun We are around 210 cm, so I think she is the perfect size in this set

You know what, I do agree about the taun we, perhaps because long legs are back with avatar, they could have made a long dress piece, and also gave her the long arms

That whole cockpit and top of the ship needs to be lowered by at least one whole brick height. 7/10 IMO
Unlike the Delta7b the Delta7 had the astromech integrated so the body really didn't need to include the body, they could have easily made it so you could build either version and then the full droid would make more sense.
The set looks really nice, I hope someday we can get a Clone Wars variant where the droid is in front of the cockpit.
I had the speed champions aston martin set and after 5 months of sitting on my shelf the Vulcurey would just crumble in my hands, i rebuilt it and some of the pieces "if the model was turned upside down" would just fall off, but the Vantage was still solid. What are your thoughts on this? 🐨

The gaps are an easy fix. Just 6 plate pieces attached underneath to cover the gaps
Seeing this set makes me even happier that I picked up the UCS Obi-Wan's Starfighter before the kenobi show ran
I think the set would have been perfect if it included jango Fett but hopefully we'll get his ship soon enough

To fill those two gaps on the wings you could put two long red rail pieces to fill it. That’s my opinion though. And I’ve watched enough of these videos to know that Ryan doesn’t like modifying his Lego sets even it if means fixing a design problem
