They are not equally yoked. They have taken different paths, and he should find a woman with similar interests and life goals.

Her issues are clear to see. His issues are hidden. He’s too quick to say “let’s focus on the future, not the past” when she raised a valid complaint that he cancelled on her birthday the very morning, and he knew she didn’t have anyone healthy to be around. He didn’t reschedule her, just repeating that his new plans were more important. He’s clearly clinging to the church to avoid being around alcohol etc. Hopefully he’ll learn that if you want to marry someone,you need to ‘actually’ consider and value them. If he doesn’t have the bandwidth he should walk his own path and allow God to work on them both separately.
Do Not Marry! This relationship is headed in two different directions and will end in a train wreck. Too many MEs, MYs and I's. Both should find someone more compatible.

My Mom gave me the advice of watching for a person with extremes...too much street/partying & too much church, on the other hand. They will both be bad news. You will not be willing or able to live up to their expectations. One you can not drink/party/drug enough & remain sane, the other you will always be a heathen & you will not be able to be holy enough. Lady, cut your losses & find someone who matches your level of spirituality and fun. Live the life you want and have safe fun without being judged for it. YOLO, safely.
I'm glad she called out that addiction to doing stuff at church. I grew up in a church environment where people were just obsessive about doing stuff that involved the church. Later in life, I found out that many of them were just swapping one addiction or obsession for another. We have to learn to deal with our emotions rather than bury them in something else. They are both unhealthy and don't need to be in a relationship with any one right now.

If she meant well, she would have thought it through some more.
Unless he’s in a cult, i wouldn’t bring his devotion in the ball park of addiction. He’s on a journey of spiritual growth. In the first years most people devote allot. If he does not receive a calling, more likely than not his devotion will taper off a bit in the coming years.
And he won’t need therapy or a support group to do it, unlike alcoholism.

And just because I don’t go to church all the time God isn’t upset with me. Repentance and living right by His word is more important than attending service. Also Everyone in the church isn’t saved my brother.

I don’t agree with the judge on being deeply involved in the church as him swapping addictions. That’s what is keeping him sober. Keeping himself busy with the church. If he’s doing the Lords work then he’s also deepening his relationship with GOD.

I’m not sure if being deeply involved in the church should be pinned as excessive and a replaceable habit because it’s THE habit to hold on too. Go assemble and lift praise and worship and your graciousness and love together and teach. We’re suppose to be obsessed with our jobs, boyfriends, girlfriends, friends, children, etc we for sure need to excessively go to church if we feel the need 🤷🏾♀️ I like these two people they are well spoken and in different places In life so they must figure out if they want to tough it out so like the young lady says “level out in growth” or move on amicably. I heard a message this morning about discerning. When you step out of a situation and realise you want something different either because of life event you realize alot of things. Sometimes the people with you are not for you. When God changes your life you realize the path your on the person walking with you might not be the one for the journey. No matter how beautiful we think they are. Don't try to change someone to adjust to your situation, it will only make them uncomfortable. Entering relationships seeing tell-tale signs will only cause regrets and possibly divorce in the future.
