I own a few co2 pistols but since watching your channel I might invest in a blank firing pistol. To me personally I like the authencity of them and how they look and feel like the real thing. Interesting stuff.

Interesting. You are pointing the barrel in a safe direction but you then point the top vent at yourself

The reason why most but not all blank gun cartridges are steel is because steel is cheaper than brass (most surplus ammo is steel). It also helps deal with chamber pressure, which can be especially relevant on blank pistols because here the head spacing might be very off. This causes the breach to not close all they way. So essentially you have a significant part of the cartridge body exposed without support from the chamber walls or slide assembly. I think your blanks guns should be safe with brass though, although I'm not familiar with UK blank gun construction legislation. I think it's odd that the UK blank guns must be top venting, since those guns are much easier to convert than front firing guns, But hey, most politicians are very much the opposite of gun experts.

UK spec blank guns arent easy to convert, you could only shoot modified ammo by plugging the hole and drilling the barrel, the UK spec ones are top firing with weakening chamber cuts

You can make the olympic 6 fire live ammunition by drilling out the block in the barrel, using pliers to peel back the crimped 22. round and hit a 22. air rifle slug into a shape that will fit in the round.

And by doing so you are manufacturering a section 5 prohibited firearm..

You can use them as dog training guns, starting a race as you said. People also like them as they are a solid realistic replica and because pistols are illegal in the UK some people just like the authentic feel and experience of putting blanks in the magazine etc.

Need abit of advice mate I'm in scotland like yourself I bought a retay mod 92 can you tell me if this is 100 percent legal because I do not know I went onto the police scotlamd website and its confusing me , read it is legal before I went and purchased it though gun hasn't came yet because of the new year I just don't want to get fucked for me not looking into it properly and maybe buying the wrong gun

    • @scotsman7626
      @scotsman7626  Před 2 lety +1

I'm not an expert, but to the best of my knowledge, yes it's 100% legal.
Actually I seen that gun in a gun shop locally to me, fancy one myself.
one thing I'd recommend it's to only buy a gun from the UK, moth over seas, as there rules are different.
Just make sure any gun you buy is top venting,(fireball comes on the top, not the muzzle) not front venting. Front venting guns are a section 5 prohibited firearm, you will get shafted for having a front venter.
I think the law says something about the size of blank, but your gun is fine.
You can only be in possession of it in certain places, for example, you can own, carry and shoot it at home and in your garden(I recommend you NOT shot it in your garden, unless there's no other house near by, Armed police will be called. you might be ok to fire it in a garage). You can take it to a friend's house, but you should cover it up, preferably in a pistol case with a padlock of traveling, the police might try to take it, that doesn't necessarily mean they have the power to do that, or that you have broken the law.
It's illegal to take it anywhere without permission, so you cannot take it to the woods, bings, or any other bits of unused land.
Best case scenario is a get premision from a land owner to use in their woods or farm, but that's easyer said than done.
I wouldn't bother asking the police in person for advice, they don't have a clue. I asked police in Fife for advice regarding bows, non of them had any idea, including firearms police.

@@cashyf_88 News to me mate, they probably think it's got something to do with the airgun licence we have, but blank fireing guns are allowed. I was in my local gun shop recently, he had some blank fireing guns.
Airsoft world is in Glenrothes, so If you live in Fife, you can go there to get one, they also have them on their website, They are also Registered Firearms Dealers because they sell airguns.
Check out Edinburgh Rifles, I've never been there myself, but they probably have some, don't think they have a website, but if you send them a message on Facebook, they might be able to help you.
I got my blank guns from Just bb guns, they now sell blank guns on their other websites, just airguns.
