Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. dumb gal Actually not really. If it were to be a no-holds barred fight, which FNFs are, then Gandalf/Olorin would win. He's the Wisest of the Istari and post-Balrog, the strongest. And he wasn't allowed to use his powers to its full potential in Middle Earth because they were ordered not to interfere and hence their powers were restricted. If he were to unleash it, his divinity would be far more powerful than Dumbledore's magic. As a Maiar, he's almost similar level as Sauron, who is stronger than Voldemort, who is stronger/equal to Dumbledore. After all, he's only a man. Also, Dumbledore's already dead. Also, I wasted 2mins of my life on a CZcams comment.

Colbert defending Dumbledore over Gandalf is the funniest thing ever.
Man that's a tough call. Because Gandalf clearly wins in the wizard part of the match up, but Voltron is the clear superior warrior in the robot match up. I'd hate to see Gandalf lose, but I don't think he has anything powerful enough to combat Voltron. I mean five individual lion robots would be powerful enough, but the combined power of them joined up to form Voltron? I don't think it could be beaten by Optimus alone. Not without the help of other Autobots.
I gotta give this one to Voltron and Dumbledore. Though Dumbledore is likely to be squished pretty quickly, Voltron makes up for it by miles.
Voltron is a flying space kaiju killing robot with surprising speed and agility. I admit I haven't watch the cartoon in like forever but I remember he was super huge and powerful.
This has to be the best line up of FNF yet, I'm actually interested in who wins, but I have to say, I can't go against Mr. Gandolf, he's the best wizard there is.
Optimus can fly. He had that weapon pack that let him do that.

Its so awesome that people besides me still remember Voltron, Defender of the Universe
very funny battle, I applaud Colbert for making it. However, nerds will find some things which are not strictly true.
First, Optimus can fly, as we saw in TF3 and the TF Prime series. Second, Optimus has been much bigger than a truck in the anime TF Energon, he was as big as a mountain actually, to fight Unicron, who is planet-sized. These are big bots pacman emoticon
Third, I'd add that Prime has been known to defeat combiners such as devastator and in animes has been seen to combine himself with other bots. With all that stated I think that Prime takes this.
About the wizards, nothing Dumbledore has achieved comes even close to the angelic abilities of Gandalf.
So - Prime/Gandalf for the win!

If Voltron is really being driven by five Hogwarts students, I'm going to have to give the victory to team Gandalf Prime. Magic kids don't have a lot of experience with electronics. Even if we give them the benefit of the doubt and say they were five muggle-born witches and/or wizards hand-picked by Dumbledore because they're also tech-savvy, they're still five British kids trying to coordinate in a giant robot they can't have too much experience in. Meanwhile Optimus is an experienced veteran of battles and has taken down opponents larger than himself before.

This is pretty damn even. I mean Gandalf is obviously a better wizard than Dumbledore, but Voltron is easily more powerful than Optimus Prime. However, since Dumbledore lives in a time with electronics, he probably wouldn't be nearly as freaked out as Gandalf would.

Gandalf is a Maiar. He just looks human, but he's actually like a demigod. He beat a Balrog, so I think he could take on Voltron and Dumbledore combined.

Relatively early, but not necessarily first.
On his own, Optimus prime gets wrecked by Voltron, but Gandalf is wearing Narya, and will give Optimus Prime unbelievable courage. But that doesn't matter because Gandalf is so freaking powerful.
Dumbledore was just a wizard who stumbled upon some good kit. So he has an "Elder wand", big deal. Gandalf was sent as Olórin by the Valar to defeat Sauron, the champion of the Dark Lord Morgoth. Dumbledore couldn't even handle Voldemort (given the name "dark lord", but really no more than a crazy genocidal wizard).
Colbert: ask yourself who would win in a fight between Voltron and a Balrog. Gandalf doesn't even need Optimus Prime to school Voltron's ass.

It depends, if we're talking about Gandalf The Grey, Dumbledore would win. After Sauron, the Valar would no longer risk sending Maiar to Middle-Earth with unchecked power so they had send the Istari to Middle-Earth in bodies of old men both not to seem intimidating to Middle-Earth's inhabitants but to also be held back power wise. Gandalf could not match Dumbledore because Dumbledore has as much power as he is willing to conjure up. Gandalf is basically handicapped power wise. Voltron though would crush Optimus, so it's a tie.
Any diesel experts here? Would the issue that diesels don't use carburetors be good or bad against a fight with Voltron?

Gandalf never shows how powerful he really is in The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings. He only gets semi-involved. Gandalf the White is the second most powerful figure residing in Middle-Earth, if I'm not mistaken. Only Sauron with the Ring is more powerful (maybe even without it).

Steven Colbert, you disappoint me. I expected better of one of the most knowledgeable Tolkien nerds alive. You know better than almost anyone how quickly Gandalf could end this. Optimus Prime wouldn't even get a chance to fly/jump. The amount of sheer power wielded by even the weakest of the Istari is enough to destroy almost anyone, and certainly some mortal and a robot. Come on, Steven, surely you can do better.

A lot of the credit for that has to go for the smothering level of nerd brimstone T-Lennon brings to the already simmering non-stop flow of nerd lava constantly threatening to overflow the banks of The Late Show and consume Manhattan, Ecol-Bert.
Lennon was, admittedly, caught under-wanded for Ecol-Bert's possibly Universe-wide superiority in nerd-pop-quiziology (NB being caught out for the extraneous article added to the name of Gandalf's steed - rookie mistake there), and suffered a [quite possibly] fatal strategic gaff in conceding wizard parity in this particular tag-team battle.
Yet nonetheless, T-L's nerd cred is, at this time in human history, objectively strong, pulsatingly powerful, and set on as a high a number as anyone not already actually on The Late Show, or otherwise currently employed on the cast of The Big Bang as it works its way thru the Later Syndication Epoch.

Ergo, Optimus has the right to call in the Autobots for assistance who, when led by an untrained rookie, were able to defeat Unicron. To the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime wielding the Matrix of Leadership, Voltron would be cake.
