- Daniel Ricciardo compares his incredible day job to that of a Royal Australian Air Force Pilot with a runaround at a regional Air Force Base in Australia.
Daniel and F/A-18 Hornet pilot, FLTLT Michael Keightley got the adrenaline pumping with an occupation comparison of larger-than-life proportions. It can be argued that both have two of the best careers in the world. Although they have different crafts, they push themselves beyond what's possible on a daily basis.

I love how in 1:49 you can see the high pressure air under the Hornet and above the F1. Shows how they're basically the same design but upside down, one to create lift and the other one to create downforce.

Just look at this car, the nose is very high and flat, 2014 cars noses are bend down, also the black transmitters, or what it is are on sides, instead of in front on RB10 another thing is rear wing, which is very wide, 2014 must have narrow rear wings and finally the sound is awesome its typical hi rev V8 high tone roar instead of V6 stupid hum
man, how beautiful it is watching how that hornet goes parallel to the ground and then climbs into a sweep ascend..the other day, i saw f22 in an air show. When it comes at you and then takes a virtical climb up to sky makes me smile. I love jets so much!!

The fact that the formula one car can keep up at all is INCREDIBLY impressive.
Most supercars have higher initial acceleration than a fighter and will therefore take the lead at first, but they can't maintain that acceleration for long and are overtaken by the fighter after a few hundred metres.

In the video, you might note that the FA18 did not even use stage 1 of its five stage 'reheat' ie. afterburner. Had it done so, the F18's acceleration would have dramatically improved.[for non fliers, the F18 is nearing its 50th birthday, albeit updated.]

the pilot forgot to mention that you have to have to ability to do multiple calculations simutaneosly in your mind while piloting a freaking flighter jet, staying calm in high pressure situations and the phiscal demands of actually flying one of these things. so even if you're determined, you're not necessarily going to get selected as a pilot. even if you are the smartest person, you won't necessarily make it as a pilot. if you're personality doesn't suit, you won't make it. just because you put your mind to it and you're determined, you can't accomplish anything despite what motivators say.

If you're extremely dedicated and motivated you will acquire the necessary physical and mental characteristics through workouts, mental coaching, mental exercises etc (granted you don't have severe medical conditions like cerebral palsy). If you believe it's impossible, it sure will be, if you believe it's possible but you secretly doubt, it will be impossible because you secretly want to prove it is. If you believe it's possible with every fiber of your being every minute you're awake from 6 AM till 12 PM if need be, you will succeed. Of course, if you already have the necessary talents it will be easier.

One could argue that there are hundreds of hornet pilots in the world
Hard to say f1 is totally different compared to the fighter plain
They're nowhere near the same thing, and neither is comparable. An F1 driver would struggle flying a fighter jet, and a fighter pilot would struggle to drive an F1 car. I'd say they're both equally skilled though, because both require huge amounts of concentration and multitasking as well as being able to plan ahead and react quickly. Just because the jet is faster, bigger and more powerful doesn't automatically make it harder to use.
elliot94951 are you trying to argue that a plane is just as simple to use as a car? There is no argument, the plane is more difficult to use, anyone can drive a car, on the other hand, not anyone can drive a car at that competitive level.
