EB is right when isa finds out Winston won't have a leg to stand on 😂👍
Not just a comedy series.. but sometimes its really heart felt... very underrated episode.
The character "Eric" played by
James Martin is the only member of the cast who plays his real age !
The guy in the lift is Greg's brother in real life
Ah yes, there was a resemblence !
Apologies. I just repeated that!
😝😃😅🤣…The reason Navid was laughing so hard and found the secksual reference with his arms is that in Scotland “Pie” is sometimes a substitute word for a lady’s “ Valley of delights “… 😅
👍🏴
The lift (elevator) operator is Greg Hemphill's (Victor) brother!
I have seen every episode of this show so many times but you find little things that i honestly never thought about before. It really is like watching them all for the first time all over again.
same mate, always funny❤️
The tower they went up is the CN Tower in Toronto, and is right next to the Blue Jays stadium. Seattle has the Space Needle, but it's not as tall as that
Little known fact that Greg Hemphill (victor) is putting on a Scottish accent as he's Canadian (and does an amazing job) and the guy who plays the lift attendant in this episode is his brother.
Ironically, in real life Victor (Greg Hemphill), was brought up in Canada, and still has a Canadian accent, I assume that inspired these episodes).
The lift guide is his brother
I think greg and the other one write the episodes themselves. Very talented indeed. Every episode is gold
Glad you got to this episode EB! Bloody love this one.
I like that it has all the classic Still Game traits heartwarming, touching moments with all the great comedy still placed around it!
Boaby the barman cracks me up every time with the "You're safe!" & "Godspeed Jack, Godspeed!" 🤭🤣
Hurrah he's back with.....Still Game......good on you Beard sir, always a treat!
Jack reminds me of my mother when we flew to Canada and went up the CN Tower she was glued to the wall 😂
The list attendant up the tower is Stephen Hempill, Victor's real life brother.
Poignant is the word you are looking for in summary. Thanks for uploading these.
Yess brother still game holiday is a great episode
Background? I thought that was your window! 😂
I remember when I watched this for the first time (not that very long ago, few years maybe) and thought the same as your comment. To my mind that was the best episode to date. It just encapsulated so much and really was so very touching. It's not a blip though, imo this show kept on improving and keeping the level all the way. Pretty rare.
Well better episodes than that
Just found out the other week that the tour guide in the lift is the guy who plays Victor’s brother.
Oh ho, wonderful reaction once again to this timeless show! It's always a joy reliving these classic episodes seeing someone appreciating them for the first time. Adds an extra dimension to the rewatches. :) Love the bit where the janitor catches Jack and Victor out, lying about grand Firhill is. Firhill is the home ground of Partick Thistle, a football team in Glasgow. I went there a couple of times as a kid, it's definitely nothing to write home about. 😂 It is a superb episode, but most of the episodes in the first 6 series are golden, it has to be said.
Hello from Scotland! Loving the new background sir!!
Glad to see you still enjoying this. Do you have a post box? I could send you some Scottish treats if you have.
Good to see you back stranger, you never told me you're favourite football team.
I love your love for Still Game - and how you understand us! 😂😂❤️
I love this series , always worth a watch , Hope you are well my Friend .
Oh my word we took that trip to the top and the glass floor……..oh my, it took me a while to walk on it 😳 the floor played with my mind 😳🤣🤣
A lot of people didn't like this episode when it first aired, complaining that it wasn't as funny as the first series, but they kinda missed the point. In the 60's and 70's tens of thousands of Scots moved to Canada, Australia and America, in search of a new life, one that was bound to be better than the grim reality of post war Britain. Some made a great success of it, like my Uncle James, some didn't. The ones that stayed hoped that there would be a boom in the economy as there would be huge gaps in the job market, but then the coal mines, steelworks and shipyards began to close, and the realisation set in. They should have left when they had the chance.
That's what Jack was talking about. They were all ready to go, but, like so many others, they backed out if it, the fear of the unknown being too great to get over. He missed his opportunity and it was too late for him to try again, but seeing his daughter thrive made him happy to see that somebody had the courage to do what he couldn't. He knew that by refusing to move out there meant that he would likely never see her again, and she understood that, but they accepted that their lives had taken different paths and that was the natural way of it.
The warmth and humanity in these episodes is what kept us watching for years, and it's good that you're picking up on in too. Yes, they might rip on one another and take every chance to laugh at and make fun of their best friends, but when it comes down to it, they have a deep and abiding love for one another. That's what makes the show special.
I grew up on this show and have always loved it, however I have a new found appreciation for it after watching your reactions ❤
This is definitely one of the best episodes, and considering how good this show is, that’s saying something
Glad you are reacting to Still Game, For me what makes it the best ever Comedy ,is every character has funny lines not just the 2 main characters ,and the acting is just superb
One of my top ten favourite episodes
The stage play is about him getting ready to move to Canada for good
Good to hear that Americans get the Scottish humour. As Billy connelly says, Scots and Americans swear properly. This is life in Scotland, really, our humour is 2nd to none.
If it was the lady on the glass it wasn't blurred here in Scotland!! Like an old Tennent's can!! 😂😂😂
Welcome back been waiting for this love to see ur reaction to still game its like getting to watch it over again to
Yes!!
Series 3 is my favorite
I laughed out loud when Isa hit Winston on the head
That never gets old! And Winston did deserve it. lol
Great to see u back with another Still Game. Even though I’ve seen them many times your infectious laugh always gets me 😂😂😂
Love your reactions, you make me laugh more than what your reacting to.😂
Ye never disappoint us with your reactions to this Al, I laughed my ass off when I watched this year's ago but now I do the very same watching ur reactions.😂 Its a rollercoaster watching this when ur invested so deeply with the characters and it's a pleasure travelling it with u mate.👍
Greg Hemphill's (Victor) actual brother as the tour guide in the CN Tower
(Greg soent his younger years growing up in Canada, and a lot of his family still live out there, including his brother, but Greg returned to Scotland to live in his 20's).
Priceless. Thanks for it Alan, the masterpieces keep on coming from that team. Be well.😉
At 26.30 if u watch the drink behind Winston it changes fae buckfast and irn bru to buckfast and mad dog fun fact loving the reactions cheers man
Greg was born in Scotland but brought up in Canada
The new background is quality. Great reaction as always.👍
Still with you Al , keep going man!
Con confirm Firhill IS twice the size of that stadium /s
You can occasionally hear the actor who plays Victor (Greg Hemphill) slip back into his real life Canadian accent in this episode. He was born in Glasgow but raised in Quebec, then came back to Scotland when he was about 20. Try to find an interview with him and you'll hear his lovely hybrid accent. ❤
Nice backdrop. I don't know about going to Canada but my flight took 5 hours to get to america and 8 hours to get back to England.
I love Winston in this one, nice comeuppance 😂
Poor kids have to share a burger. 😂
Thanks Beard, love the new apace age background.
Stay safe buddy.
Greg hemphill although Scottish born was brought up in Montreal Canada hence his strange accent.
Recommendation - *A Playground Like No Other (2022)* narrated by *Sean Bean* and created by *Scott and Sid* from *Bradford.*
It's a 15 minute promotional documentary highlighting the historic county of *Yorkshire* aka God's Own Country.
You seem to have a good healthy appreciation for this show. It is not only very funny, but has some good serious moments too. There's a few British sit-coms like this, such as Only Fools & Horses which tackles somre serious subjects at times.
I think it's part of how Brit comedy separates itself from US Comedy.
And the new background is great !!
You really get this show and it’s good to see!
It really is one of the best programmes ever written, now then we done need to speak about you getting into The League of Gentlemen ep2❤😂
Oh and happy to see you back up and running❤
daaaamn where you been, i was getting worried
I just love this it's just brilliant👌😂😂😂❤
Welcome back oh Bearded one😊
Interesting fact. The lift operator/guide is victors real life brother. (They are both Scottish/canadian)
I remember getting a Samsung p500 like Boaby's 😁great reaction cheers.
Two comedy shows that are similar that you might find interesting are Citizen Khan, following a Pakistani family living in Birmingham, and Give My Head Peace, following the Nationalist and Unionist ongoings in Belfast.
The latter is more political at times so maybe not worth it for a CZcams react, but it's managed to riff on both sides of the spectrum so it's fairly popular 😅.
What they've said already - top stuff.
In one episode there is a homeless guy living in the lift.
That is Kevin Bridges
I love that you love this show.
Good back ground and reaction
One of my favourite episodes. Another I look forward to you seeing is "hatch". Its hilarious
Sorry I missed your mail call earlier Alan I was busy hope you loved the whisky… I did watch it a few hours later & im glad still game got through & I loved your reactions to the boys in Canada…can’t wait to see your new stuff but I’m also glad to see still game & Derry girls & porrige & rising damp & im also sorry at viewing figures I try my best to watch my favourite stuff more than once (not doctor who) sorry
I'VE BEEN TO TOP OF TWIN TOWERS IN NY IN 1981.....AND SQUAW PEAK, CA AND YOU CAN SEE THE CURVATURE OF THE EARTH AT THAT HEIGHT...NY 105 STORIES
Couldn't pay me enough to go up there! Im wi Jack 😂🏴
When a scot meat a Canadian. ❤ it humour is laughter
At the start at the airport Victor says he nearly shat (Scottish way of saying shit) himself. Backdrop canny right enough by the way man 👍
One thing that’s always baffled me is how victor holds that sandwich 😂😂 it’s the weirdest thing ever
How is that baffling, his hands look huge compared to it, & he clearly has good support on the top & bottom, what's baffling about that
I like the new background, does it have a name or is it just a random jpeg you scooped from the net?
No name for it. I used Midjourney and a set of text prompts for a futuristic cyberpunks city skyline view from a modern industrial window and then refreshed the prompts a few times and this is one of the 4 that come out.
@@TheEclecticBeard Thanks, I'll have a look, I have a cyberpunk night cityscape scene on my wall, it's 3m x 2m with blacklight LEDs, I love that kind of stuff so I had to know it looks like a space ship cockpit.
Thanks again 👍
I would not be going to the top of that Tower! No chance!!
The guy who plays Victor is actually Canadian in real life
The music whilst dancing in the shop is different
I prefer the new background 👍
This is so funny. Don't know if you've seen Eddie Hall at Karen's diner omg so funny.
Series 3 when it gets funny.😀👍
BACKGROUND NICE...ARE YOU IN NY???
The next few seasons are even better, the last ones are different but still brilliant. There is christmas and hogmanay specials as well but need to watch which one or there will be spoilers
the show does have a tin bit of nudity in it but there was nudity in the episode Winston and Tam were fighting over the librarian you didn't seem to notice
Cool background
That is a lovely view from your house
Storage issue with computer? Just curious what issue had
Dont know exactly. SFC, DSIM, virus, 2 mem tests, cpu and gpu stress tests all come back normal. Ran chkdsk and it said it repaired files so we shall see
@@TheEclecticBeardhope it stays good for a long time now
Your going to be very sad at the last episode, great show.
Wedding dress and wedding suit
beardy! 💙
Gaun yersel' EB, y'mad dobber ye!
9 days what's gonna on
I would be Jack I can't walk across the clyde bridge need to walk at the roadside
Lol, Firrhill is Partick Thistle's ground. it holds 10,000. It's not the worst stadium in the league.
Such a brilliant show.
💜👍💜👍
👍💜👍👍💜👍
It's a cultural thing too, mean in the UK life is alot rougher than most parts of the US and especially Canada. Yes you've got crime in America but nowhere near as bad at times as here going back decades. Plus you've got that football hooliganism here where after a small argument the whole town decends into mayhem lol.
Like when I was at school another school lads from it said we'll fight your school. So we turned up all 30 of us with knives, knuckle dusters and bats. The other kids ran away, that's the UK for ya in a nutshell 😂
I never experienced UK that bad
Nonsense your talking nonsense. Every country has their rough areas and their good areas. Scotland is very very safe your ideas come from the 1980s with football hooligans and knife gangs I suspect you've not even been to the UK since then. All countries go through bad periods the 1980s was a bad period in the UK.
@@mlee6050 North East of England where I'm from so it can or did get that bad now and then. London is beyond horrible from what I've heard, yes it's rough up here but you'll not be stabbed by people like you will there.
You’ll be fluent in Scottish in no time.
Missing shameless 😪😅
